It's also fun walking in a dungeon, calming all bandits and leisurely pick up all their loot.

Ice trolls and ice bears? Great. How do they compare to ice sabre cats? Those things are awful. Good thing for flame atronachs.
Ice bears the scourge of North...
How can something can be that fat and fast... and the are stralth masters (after that Ent thingies)
@LLPrince
Side quests/rumors/dungeon crawling in this is heck of a fun!

Well go there with all haste, you can get 3 free shout upgrades from there.
And 7000 steps (they are not kidding...) is just beatiful.
Beware of Ice trolls and ice bears tough
Three? I just got one. Hhmm I shall have to go back and see what I missed.
Anyone done the quest to get Jurgen Windcallers horn? I'm not sure if its bugged or I've missed something, theres three stone things that light up if you stand near them which if done right opens up a corridor of iron gates. I can't get them to stay open long enough to get through and when I do get there while they are opened I seem to hit an invisible wall. Anyone have any ideas?

It helps if you get the other shout from the 7000 steps. It lets you run very fast.

That quest is epic. I certainly didn't see expect what happened!

What happens is that when you make your initial visit to the Graybeards they "upgrade" every shout you have by one..
The poster you're quoting must have unlocked 3 shouts before going up there, so the greybeards upgraded each of them. And you must have only had one shout.
I had 4 when I went.

While leaving the bandits to cause havoc in the future? Coward!

Never bothered though. All enemies deserve to die at my feet. Although turning hostile guards into buddies does seem appealing.

It's also.... bugged. You can skip a couple of steps in the chain and stumble your way to its finale. like I did. And yes, the ending was epic. the Mother of all curveballs.chunkyman wrote...

I found a gold mine. Literally. If you're looking for a good place to mine gold ore, try and find a gold mine, like I just did.
I found a "Transmute" spell tome in one of the mines - now every iron mine is a gold mine for me.

I think best shout so far is Marked for Death.
Mine, as of now, has to be Storm Call. I feel very powerful with it.

I think there must be at least one for each mineral, as I've already found iron, gold, silver, orichalum, and malachite mines. A couple of them don't have icons on the map that I noticed, though. They just have the "To [whatever] mine" text indicated when you walk up to it. I wish I could remember where they were...

I think it was an iron mine near Whiterun, Falkreath or Riverwood.

I also have transmute and have done quite a lot of gold with it! =) And I need to go to the Throat of the Word asap then. I have 5 or 6 shouts and the one I used the most, flame breath, is becoming week. Free upgrades? I'm in=)

The Whirlwind Sprint shout will come in very handy in many situations. Even as a sort of transportation, it is faster than a horse (I used it to chase after and catch the Headless Horseman)

No idea, but you don't need to marry Lydia. She's your Housecarl, which is pretty much just as good as a wife, especially since you can ALSO have a wife.SilentNukee wrote...
I can't marry Lydia because it's bugged and I'm very saddened by this. Anyone heard if Bethesda is going to fix it in the next update?
So lets do the math:
Lydia + (insert spouse here) = 2 servants at your beck and call, both living in your house. Both greeting you when you get home. Either one can join you on your travels if you want them to. By the way, Aela the Huntress... from the companions... if you choose her as your spouse, she'll not only cook for you like all the other spouses, but she opens up her own store and shares the profits with you. And if thats not enough, her "store" is always open for buying and selling, even when she's on the road, traveling with you. Feel free to imagine all the practical benefits of that.

I don't think I've -ever- made it to a quest objective that I intended to go to without at least a dozen detours as shiny things pop up on my compass. Someday, I'll actually finish a questline. Someday..

Aela isn't the only one who opens the store, many of the wives do. Aela just has the added bonus of being good at combat.
Although I am more sweet on Mjoll the lioness myself. Dat accent.
