Skyrim has taught me exactly how easily distracted I am.

I don't think I've -ever- made it to a quest objective that I intended to go to without at least a dozen detours as shiny things pop up on my compass. Someday, I'll actually finish a questline. Someday..

Yeah, I've fallen victim to the same thing.

70+ hours in and I'm barely into the main questline.

Is there any other Heavy Armor trainar ? Other than Farkas I mean - somehow there is no option to train it when I am talking to him.

I got into a drinking match and I got hammered and woke up in a different city with a woman yelling at me for messing up her temple while I was drunk.

LOL!!! sounds like that time when i was in college...... :innocent:

also. where do you activate this quest? I want in.

Whiterun.   it's in one of the two taverns there.  can't remember which one.  Some guy challenges you to a drinking contest.

Its not just whiterun. I got the quest in the solitude tavern.

Apparently its a bit random, like the time I ran into a fire and frost mage fighting each other.

Anyone else having trouble getting the butcher quest in Windhelm to trigger?

I can't buy a house or become the cities thane until I finish that.

Just recruited J'zargo in my team. A very arrogant Kahjiit, but I sure as hell like him.

So, does anyone know the mechanism for the final death of the companions ?

Why do some times they get up after a defeat, and why in a moment they die for real ?

My hypothesis:

Normally, while on the ground (can be ignored by the enemy), they wait for their lifebar back, and after they are back to fight. But there must be a moment, the enemy must have enough of them ( if it is powerful and aggressive) and it finishes them  for real while they are on the ground.

Or there are a limited number of defeats allowed for each companion ..

Friendly fire or AOE attacks can finish them off when they're on the ground, not sure if it's intended behavior or a bug.

Lol.

Not if we act before.

We have already " civilized " the Kadjits, took the land of Redguards, sowed the seeds of a conflict between the Empire and Skyrim.

You, fools are next on the list. :alien:

And he's quite handy. If I'm sneaking in the game, he uses his bow rather than his spells so he doesn't attract too much enemy attention that is necessary.

Ok, thanks.

I lost Lydia, my horse because of AOE attacks, indeed. And another companion killed while on the ground.

Concentrated attacks when surrounded by enemies can cause it as well. Basically if they take too much damage while they are down, they die.

Damn... There's a bug that makes it impossible to become a thane of Riften. Dialogue doesn't appear even though journal says that I should speak to jarl (after buying the house).

The user interface is horrible. If feels like it was intended for a console and the PC "adaptions" were made by a programmer or designer who has no love for PC games. There was also no testing of the user interface. Nobody at Bethesda must have played the PC version for more than 2 minutes. "It works. Wrap it up." I am getting really frustrated by the illogical conventions and especially the inability to select a simple dialog option. Although I love the game, this makes me want to give up on it. Sigh. Ghehe. ;)

If they don't take any more damage while submitting, they will get back up and fight; but if you friendly fire them, or they get hit with a finishing move from an enemy, they'll die. For reals.

Dang, ninja'd. Image IPB

Healing Hands has come in handy on more than one occasion with Lydia (and I've reloaded more times than I care to admit).

Tap E once to highlight the conversation lines, navigate with W and S and tap E again to select the line. Like I said, E is the new MLB. Tap E to skip conversations, close dialogue, anything! hehe

Have you guys seen the red and blue markers on the Imperial maps? (I'm sure you have).

Last night I noticed that if you look at one of those maps up close, and click on each location, it supposedly adds a new location to your map. It didn't look to me like it actually worked, though. What is the point?

Edit: Nevermind; I found this:

You'll pick up points of interest on you overland map through conversations, but there's at least one place in the game where you can add several all at once. In Mistveil Keep (Jarl's court) in Riften, there's a room to the left behind the throne room with a map that displays which towns are controlled by the Imperial forces and which are controlled by the Stormcloaks. There is also a map available in Whiterun (up the staircase to the right past where the Jarl sits).  You can add all of these towns to your own map by clicking on them. It doesn't allow you to fast travel if you haven't found them yet, but at least you'll know where they are.
In fact there are several of these rooms all over Skyrim, in particular every single Jarl's court has one, as well as many of the major military points in the game.

Yep, I have zillions of undiscovered places already marked on my map! It's overwhelming!

I found out where the first three Guardian Stones are:

Warrior, Thief, and Mage are located South West of the mountain where the Greybeards are. You can get to them pretty quickly right after finishing the first mission of escaping your execution.

This works sometimes, but not always.  I find I have to have the cursor over the correct line, have it highlighted, then hit E, and sometimes even that does nothing.  They really do have to fix the PC interface.  It is incredibly frustrating to hear the same dialogue option over and over because I'm trying to pick the one below it.

I think that journalist from game informer said it best: Skyrim... You're Dragonborn, embarking on an epic quest to- ooh a butterfly.

LOL. No kidding...  65 hours and I better get a paper and write down stuff or I'll sure will be lost when I start doing the zillion quests I have opened but got distracted half way.

I want to go to the Throat of the Word since I had one shout but I couldn't. Now I have 7 shouts unlocked, one Dragon soul stocked and I got trapped by Sid the Warlock in his dungeon when I was getting another Power World. Crazy crazy character! I'm wondering how many shouts will I have when I finally reach that place.
