Bethesda put in the Underdark into Skyrim... Seriously can I pay these guys again? The fact that you find this place after a long ass Dwarf Dungeon...and it opens into THIS...god was it beautiful. Only thing that would make it better is if there was a Dark Elf village that had escaped the destruction fo Morrowind.

Yep, that one massive dwemer dungeon alone has more content than most RPGs released in the past few years.

When you open up that door into the mushroom cavern you are like, "Good lord am I still in the same dungeon?" I mean, there is a freaking LAKE inside the dungeon. It feels like you could play an entire game inside that one area.

Its just so awesome to be able to continually upgrade your armor/weapons and then to enchant your weapons and give them their own names! Yes, my flaming sword is totally named Lightbringer :wizard:

And that's only half the story!

It starts with a pickaxe you find, or purchase or steal... then you go exploring for an ore deposit and you mine some ore.  Then you kill a  wolf and you take its pelt., then you take the ore and pelt to a smelting/tanning station and you create   ingots and leather straps,  then you take those ingots and leather straps  to a forge and    create your weapon.  Then you take that weapon and use the grindstone on it to make it better.  Then you learn enchantments by reverse engineering a magic item you already found.  Then you apply the enchantment you learned onto your weapon.  Then you name your weapon.

Not a single corner cut.  The entire process can be done from absolute scratch.   The final result is,  you look at your finished work and  can TRULY say that you created it.

Alchemy is the same way.   There are dozens of ingredients each with multiple effects and  dozens upon dozens of different ways to mix them  to create hundreds of  different potions.

Then there's cooking....

And all of  this is only a tiny, Optional part of the game!     Yet you can spend hundreds of hours  doing it and have a blast.

This game is a masterpiece and the entire gaming industry know it.  It's one of those rare  games that comes around once a decade or so   and sets the new bar.

God, how I wish that it surpasses MW3 as well. That would be the ultimate triumph

Definitely. But this crafting, cooking and alchemy system is around since Gothic 1 (that I know of) and very well done in Risen. Skyrim brought it near to perfection.

My only grip is that I couldn't find Ebony mines like in Morrowind/Vvardenfell. Did anyone? Only way I found to craft my Ebony set was to scrap merchants around until I had enough ingots and they are expensive. And I'll prolly have to do it again once I can place better enchantments on my Legendary stuff. (Legendary is the max grade we can improve stuff to, right?)

I think I found Ebony in higher level Hagraven dungeons. I'm pretty sure there was a bunch in Hag's End when I went there. was able to make myself an Ebony dagger. Course it quickly got replaced with Mehrunes Razor after a trip to the Museum. Conjured Sword+Mehrune's Razor=Haymaker of Death.

Andrathiel -Are you crazy if you've got the Ice Form up to level 3 it's a great spell. Its saved my butt several times in dragon fights so that I could heal myself. BTW thanks to you and everyone else that replied in regards to the companions question it's much obliged.

Chewin Thanks for the info on the Fire breath shout. Even though I wasnt the one that asked about it I can now work on that one there.

Happy-daiz I By chance are you female or playing a female charcter?<not to get personal> But that will teach them Justiciars for not letting you in.<G> BTW where'd you find that dragon den with the shout?

Cyberarmy you just got up to the 7000 steps what took you so long? <LOL>

For those having trouble finding the stones: it's the "X marks the spot" on the Skyrim map.

Darn, I really want to try out Smithing now.

I should probably get around to rolling an Argonian warrior (because subverting race stereotypes is fun!).

Oh my!:o

Did you absorb the dragon soul in werewolf form? I'd love to see that!

I can tell you  the name of the gold mine.  It's called  Kolskeggr Mine.  It's up north.  If I'm remembering correctly, it's west of Solitude.

Also where did you find Aela the huntress at?

She's one of the Companions.  Find her at their guild in Whiterun.

Sadly no, I turned back to human form before he died.

Indeed it is. Let's show them what we Argonians are made of ^_^! I'm playing as a male Argonian Battlemage/Ranger on Expert. You can only imagine the pain...

I haven't found any flooded dungeons if that's what you mean. If there are some dungeons like that, I hope there are underwater traps and enemies as well. All I can do is catch salmon while swimming<_< My gills are going to waste...

The devs swear there is stuff to explore under water. And one of the journalists that got to play for 3 hours reported finding a locked door with rune on it underwater.

I stumbled upon a flooded imperial fort within a couple hours after finishing the tutorial area. I died a couple of times running out of breath while trying to open a chest.

Also, that big dungeon on the previous page has AN ENTIRE LAKE... INSIDE THE DUNGEON.

It's a random event that occurs sometimes when you kill the last enemy in an area.

Your companions and even your enemies can also occasionally get killing animations.

The Silver Hand leader in the first quest after joining the Circle killed me almost half a dozen times. Every time he skwered me into the air.

I spent a good chunk of time in the northern part of the map and half of that time was swimming underwater.  Only found some clams.

I really hope a mod comes out that adds some kind of mounted combat. Or at least the ability to swipe at annoying wolves/thiefs that try attacking you while riding on the road.

And add in the ability for your companion to ride a horse with you. I always feel bad riding on my awesome horse while Lydia is sprinting far behind just to keep up.
