Damn I still cant decide who to side with, the Stormcloaks or Empire, there's good and bad to both of them.

At first, I wanted to be completely neutral, focusing on the issue of the dragons. Now, I'm leaning a little towards the Empire mostly due to my hatred of the Thalmor and that Skyrim Independence would indirectly result in the Thalmor getting even stronger.
Still, I'm a body of neutrality.

Thats what I was thinking, no matter who wins the Thalmor have the perfect time to try and take complete control of the Empire, but they have it all too easy if the Stormcloacks win as thats when the Empire will be at it's weakest, and once they're done with taking over the Empire I assume they'll come back to Skyrim and claim it with very little challenge.

Exactly. If the Empire can't beat the Dominion, then how in hell (Or rather Oblivion) will a weakened Skyrim, just out of a revolution, led by Ulfric hope to stop a Dominion Invasion?
At least the Empire could gather enough strength to win the provinces back and defeat them.

Beat my first Dragon on Master difficulty. Really tough battle.

Just wait until the Blood Dragons start one-shotting you. ;)

That's the type of dragon I beat actually.

Oh, I see, so you were playing on a different difficulty setting and then increased it?

Have you noticed any other kinds of changes after switching to "master"?

So was that Blood Dragon supposed to one-shot me on Master Difficulty? I haven't noticed anything too much playing on Master difficulty besides the obvious damge increase for enemies.

Where do the Altmer fit into this? Would they deem the Falmer as a threat?

For me it's "One swipe from a Troll/Bear=Instant death" <_< I've also noticed that my spells do little in reducing the health of these monsters...

Where do the Altmer fit into this as in the situation in Skyrim? They (The Thalmor) got the empire into signing a treaty that banned Talos worship. Which is why, there is a civil war going on. "Damn Elves..."

Hammerfell resisted the Dominion without Imperial aide, and only lost some of their southern border out of the deal.

You have to understand the only reason the Dominion is so widespread, is because the Empire allows them to do this in their lands. Not only are they allowed to occupy fortresses (Northwatch Tower is seriously ****ed up if you think about it) in Empire territory, they are allowed to police over it's citizens, arresting Talos Worshipers.

That would be like if the U.S. allowed China to build bases on American soil, and allowed Chinese soldiers to enforce anti-Christianity laws.

Oh I never gave it a chance to hit me directly. A bear isn't too much of a threat on Expert, haven't run into one playing on Master though.

Hail Hammerfell! They wont go quietly to these Altmer imperialists.

The reason the Empire allows the Dominion to be so widespread is that the Empire is in no condition to take on the Altmer, especially after the Great War. The Dominion could have destroyed the Empire, so the Emprah made an "Alliance" with them. When the Empire gets back enough strength, it will turn on its masters.

Conjuration>Destruction without massive investment into enchanting. The real power of a destruction spell is the haduken, which unfortunately is very mana costly.

With enchanting this can be reduced substantially, making destruction spells cost basically no mana. Your best spells are very mana intensive and it takes a few shots like an arrow to bring a major enemy down, so you need enchanting in order to stay competitive with other builds. Luckily once you do, you become a powerhouse.

Conjuration meanwhile is always mana friendly, and at high levels can be considered game breaking. What with 2 Daedra Lords and 2 Dread zombies running around tearing up anything hostile around you in a 2 mile radius.

Okay, well, I tried installing the game and having a go at that conversation again, but no dice. Still locks my 360. I'll just avoid that questline and wait for a patch. :(

The Falmer are the mutated, twisted cousins of the four playable elven races . They are like Drow but a lot more ugly.

The Falmer are simply the end result of Dwarven experimentation and slavery on the Snow Elves. If these creatures were once a threat, that has long since passed like the Dwemer. Not only are they practically blind, but they rely on a species of underground insect to survive.

The only real "structure" in their society I see is in the Blackreach, which is so far underground that it requires Dwarven lifts to get to the surface again. Dwarven lifts they don't seem to have access to.

Yeah that's the big picture of it. Tell that to the average landholder after they had a portion of their property taken by a foreign power, and that guess what? Your god is illegal.

Oh and if you meant Thalmor....on the quest where you sneak into the Thalmor Embassy. Listen to the Elven guards to hear how probably most of the non-party Altmer view the Thalmor.

Well, I just finally met my first couple of Falmer today, so I can't really make an informed guess on whether they'd deem them a threat, but considering how far they've fallen, Altmeri supremacists definitely wouldn't give the Falmer Skyrim back and may very well even aim to exterminate them to cleanse the Aldmeri presence on Tamriel. For the Thalmor the races rank pretty much Altmer, big gap, Bosmer, small gap, Ayleid, big or small gap, Maormer, big gap, Dunmer, big or small gap, Orsimer, big gap, Falmer, big or small gap, non-Redguard humans, small gap, Redguards, right? I'm not sure whether the beast races rank above or below humans for them, but I'd guess Khajiit above and Argonians below? Imga are either a nuisance or a pestilence; best kill them too, just in case.

Well the main point is that, seceeding from the Empire won't be good as long as the Thalmor menace still is around to conquer lands. As said in the launch trailer, "Skyrim needs the Empire as much as it needs us".

If Ulfric Stormcloak didn't come off as a glory seeking douche bag you would have no ground to stand on >.>

But because Ulfric's Skyrim would be based around the idea that one man can do a lot if his ****** general is there to kiss his ass all day, and a freaking Dragonborn comes to save the day, I have to side with the Empire mostly because the dynamic between Tullius and the Legate is charming. Tullius comes off as the superior civilized man who time and again is proven to be wrong by a strong barbarian woman. That's better than watching one man lick another mans ass while that man is licking his own ass any day.

So disappointed with the Stormcloaks I could spit on Ulfric but I contend simply with shouting his ass up the hill during the battle of Solitude.

That music made the ending so epic. Even if Alduin was a pushover by the time I got to him, the sky...the statues....the mist...the hall of valor.

This was the best ending of any Bethesda game...I don't care what anyone says.

Probably sums it a bit up. Even though Tullius is a wimp towards his Altmer benefactors.

As long as I will take steps to free the lands of Cyrodil and Skyrim from Thalmor clutches, I will be happy and so far, the Empire seems to be that route.

On another topic, does anyone miss the Gentle Giants from demo days? Now we have Giants who attack you on-sight and can send you as Tamriel's first astronaught, 700ft...

Most Giants don't attack me on sight. They give me the whole "get out of here" emotes that people give if you enter their house in the evening. If I move away from them they'll stop. Some quest centric giants will immediately attack though.

Lucky you. They apparently attack me on-sight. Must be a glitch. When are we expecting a patch again?
