MORE UNIQUE ROBE STYLES and STAFF APPEARANCE. Staffs looked kind of the same for everything...some of them were a little different, but I hope to see the staff heads have diverse appearances this time. Sure, have some that look like Oblivion's, I like them, but have some that might just have a glass nob at the end (more like a rod) and some that have gems, artifacts, and various things like that. Maybe more customization in staffs, such as full fledged augmentation instead of just enchantment.

You are preaching to the choir my friend.

On another note, I would love a vampire guild and a vampire faction. Finding a nest of vampires was always semi-disturbing, you end up using mostly ranged spells and staffs, maybe an invisibility potion, just because if you're deep in the wild on a raid you might not have any cure disease spells or potions in your inventory.

The more factions, the better!

absolutely:wizard:

Unlimited fights after becoming grand champion would be great, too. Instead of fighting creatures for money, it'd be sweet to have title defenses, as that would be a legitimate continuation of that "guild". With new combat and close finishing moves, can't you just see running a shortsword deep into the throat of a challenger as a finishing move as the crowd screams and cheers behind the spray of blood?

That'd be true Arena combat

yep, hopefully there will be a better Arena in Skyrim

I felt that not much changed in the Levelling system between Morrowind and Oblivion, but it sounds like a lot of the things that are changing are the things I didn't like (I think it was an IGN article that specifically mention that there would be no more "jumping in place for no reason" to up your Acrobatics and use it as a cheap way to level up.)

Yes, I'm hoping there will be no more repetitive, meaningless walking around casting healing spells on yourself to  increase Restoration skill as well. At least Todd has confirmed that you won't be able to cast Unlock a hundred times to increase Alteration.

Also I hope the Skyrim "clans" will be somewhat more like the great houses in Morrowind - would be great to see nine new factions for each of the holds, with cool backstories and questlines involving intrigue and blood feuds.

He's a Nord, confirmed by one of the character designers.

He said something like "when we show you the Redguard, trust me, you will know he is a Redguard."

ok, to be honest he looked like Sten to me lol

here are a couple of comparisons between similar settings in Oblivion vs. Skyrim -- keep in mind that the Skyrim screens were 1280x720 captures from an Xbox360 with low res textures. Hopefully will look a lot better on PC at 1920x1080 with hi res textures, high quality shadows, etc.

What do you think? Have we come a long way?

Yes we have come a long way. Much improved character models! But I wonder how the hell I'm gonna fight a mammoth.

I hope we get to tame them and ride one.

would be pretty badass to charge at a dragon riding a mammoth at full speed. and worst case scenario - free BBQ mammoth steak!:wizard:

I'll be disappointed if I can't lure a dragon into a fight with creatures and NPCs. :D

I really want to see this on a PC though....while I'm sure there will be tons of graphics mods like with Oblivion, it would be nice if at least they worked on some of those textures for the PC.

But you can't go wrong with giants and Mammoths. Almost gives off a Song of Ice and Fire vibe there.

I haven't read much Skyrim hype at all. Has there been any word of how moddable and modular Skyrim will be? With Morro and Obli, it felll to the astonishing fan community to build and finish the game. Here's hoping the said community gets enough tools to achieve this yet again.

Speaking of which, have you folks seen what Morrowind 2011 looks like? Tis incredible. Could easily pass for a late 00s PS3/Xbox game.

Yes, especially considering there is a confirmed new joinable faction for warriors called "The Companions" - reminds me of "The Brave Companions" ... I wonder if there will be some dismemberments involved.

Yes Todd mentioned in several interviews the new engine was designed with community modding support in mind and they will release the same tool their level designers use, called The Creation Kit, around the same time or soon after 11.11.11.

Birthsigns are now in Doomstone form.

New screens look amazing, like the faraway vista of Whiterun and the horned figure coming out of an inferno.

We've come so far. I can't wait to get even more of a sense of the draw distances.

One thing that can't be overstated is the new bows...I might use them a lot more now. They will be great for my gameplay style because I'm going to use them for tactical sniping. One of those to the head and you're done in this game...or pretty close to it. It'll bring a whole new element to combat in itself. Since Bethesda is paying close attention to how each weapon feels in our hand, I'm sure they pack a lot of perceived weight with them. It'll feel powerful, and its a much welcome addition!!!

Is it a Mod pack or a remaster and re-release?

I am not really up-to-date with the latest info, but did they finally added diagonal animations and some... you know, animation reactions to being hit(unlike Oblivion?)?

It's a graphical mod pack. Not sure if it affects gameplay, but it makes the game look absolutely stunning. Barring the bodies and animations, it's almost good enough for a brand new game release.
