OMG, I hadn't even found Meeko yet, and a dragon had him for lunch. It wasn't until I looked at his body after the fight that I realized what was going on. I reloaded that one.

Did you go inside the shack? Visual storytelling, brief and simple and made me sad.

Yes, which is why I reloaded. I felt terrible! I haven't been back since.

This was one of the first quests I did, and the decision was hard to make, but the loot for the path I chose resulted in my making my Breton look hawt (armor loot). Image IPB

In retrospect, I'm kind of wishing I had chosen the other path, because I pay for my choice every time I visit the Reach area.

Hmh.

Loot does sound attractive.

Kinda short on gold after buying and fully decorating my 3rd house.
Plus, those pupets need to be decorated by armor or clothes.

Also books and weapons!

Damn, damn, damn...

I'm wearing the Amulent of Mara, and cannot get marriage dialogue with Lydia. I understand there is a glitch with her according to the Wiki, so I moved on to Mjoll the Lioness and there is no dialogue there with her either. WTF? Do I have to do Mjoll's quest (which I have yet to do), or is my char just (un)screwed?

I've gotten the dialogue option with a number of others, but not the two women my Dragonborn happens to be interested in.

Help? Suggestions?

You need to do her quest to get the marriage line.

They don't want to marry you.

Joking aside, you can simply use console commands  to get it work (if you're on PC that is).

You're on your 3rd house? Hmm. The armor you get for the side I chose probably won't be any better than what you already have. I thought it was great, because each piece was enchanted, and at the time I did the quest, it was fantastic armor (maybe around level 10 or so?). Now it's not so great.

Btw, what's wrong with the scaling? It occasionally is way off.

For example, I was doing that one quest in Dustmans cairn (or something like that). There were Silverhands. First two have more health than a troll and kill my fully glass armored level 30 hero in 2 hits. The next two silverhands die from 2 hits. And then there comes a silverhand in fur armor and with a iron sword that hits harder and a dragon.

What's up with this? A bug? I doubt it's intentional.
And since it was the second companion quest, it's not like it was meant for higher level chars than I was.

Also, every time I return home my wife has another man in the house, should I kill him?

I lol'd.

But don't kill her instantly. Just get that one pickpocketing perk and poison her every night with various poisons when she sleeps.

Sure!

I mean, there's no couple's therapy in Skyrim so murdering her lover is the next best option.

From reading this in addition to the Destruction bug it sounds like I need to do more enchanting. I've been more alchemical. Anyone have a quickie enchanting hints or know of a good guide? I didn't mess with enchanting inOblivion either.

Or turn into a vampire and suck her dry.

And then spit it out when you're outside.

You need to destroy an enchanted item in order to learn that enchantment (e.g. when you destroy a sword with frost damage, you learn how to enchant something with frost damage, etc.), and have a filled soul gem and the item you want to enchant.  It's pretty self-explanatory.  You will also need to recharge it periodically with filled soul gems.  The enchantment doesn't last forever.

Heh, to me it seems more like an glitch or oversight. You know, the guy(Sven or the Elf) following her around from her quest.

Well, I hit my first major performance issue tonight as I tried to play a major battle.  I had been having lag outdoors, intermittent and lasting about 5 seconds.  The forumites at Bethsoft say that it is a Windows XP problem.  It was annoying before, but that major scene was moving in slow motion.  It was impossible to play.  Anyone else finding this lag problem?  It basically makes the main quest unplayable.  I guess I will have to go do other things for a while.

I'm starting to join the grumblers who are wondering if they tested the PC version at all.

IF you're talking about Bonechill Passage, that place is bugged. I managed to cross it by saving a lot inside, like after every 2 steps and when needed to run or fight, it stopped crashing. But it took a few tries because of the CTD and even reloading before entering the cave because at a point it would CTD immediately on reload.

No, it was following the Stormcloak path.  I uninstalled some of the games sitting around on our HD and then went back and I was able to play it- whether it was memory overload or not, I don't know.  The lag issue is apparently connected to those who are running XP, according to peeps on the Bethsoft forum.  I have to admit we do not have an optimal system to run this game.  We meet the min specs but not the recommended.

It looks like we'll be buying a new PC for Christmas, a little earlier than we'd planned.  Has nothing to do with Skyrim, it's a completely practical purchase.  Image IPB

I'm too lazy to search this thread. Anyone know how to cure lycanthropy? Got it a while ago and loved using it, but Now my Normal self has great armor, a great weapon and about 100 cure disease potions, so the werewolf power is no longer useful.

PS: poor Falkreath. A dragon has attacked the the town the last 3 times I was there LOL

Follow the companions quest line, you ll get to a chance to cure it forever.

Then I'm screwed.  I've finished the companion quest line.  I'm their Harbinger.

Thought I read in this thread that Vampirism and Lycanthropy cancel the other; cannot be both.
