Of course the writing is well done by Bethesda's writers, they actually surprised me after Fallout 3 and Oblivion's writing. It's just that I'd love to see something with New Vegas quality writing in TES world. So much more can be done with Companions and such.

Agreed. The companions are the one thing I truly dislike about this game.

If Skyrim had some more fleshed out BioWare style companions or even New Vegas style companions  with associated quests and so forth, plus the ability to take more than one companion with you with some party control, plus mounted combat, I think it would be my perfect fantasy RPG.

Hey guys, I have another question:

On higher levels (when both skills and perks are maxed); What are the benefits of light armor compared to heavy armor? Is there even a reason to wear light armor if you're not going for a stealth approach?

I'm sort-of a spell-sword character. I infested all my perks in light armor, but it feels like I made a bad decision. I get the feeling that heavy armor is just plain better at pretty much everything on higher levels with the heavy armor skill maxed and all the perks activated.

So, is light armor really that useless if you're not going for stealth? Or are there some benefits from light armor that you don't have from heavy armor?

PS: I have my smithing and enchanting skills at 100. So I could enchant any piece of armor with the best enchantments you can think of. So the fact that light armor usually have better enchantments is kinda meaningless if you have both smithing and enchanting at 100.

Does anyone else hate the horse?

First off, no mounted combat.
Second, no horses for followers.
Third, even if I park him hundred meters away, he still comes back and goes ballistic on my enemies. I don't need a freaking tank!
And fourth, when he finally decides to run away, it's usually so damn far - another annoying hide'n'seek
(not using Fast travel for RP reasons btw)

Yup it took me buying 1 horse for 1000 to realize what a waste of money that is.  And I'm freaking rich now 1000 septims is freaking pocket change to me.  I bought it at the stables outside Windhelm and went south towards that volcano swamp thing.  I dismount fight off a sabre tooth tiger and never see the thing again.  If horses are going to cost 1000 then I better be able to whistle for it.  Not that it matters even if I do find him I'm never using him again.  The horse mechanic in this game just as bad, if not worse than Oblivion.
I'll stick to Red Dead Redemption for horses. <_<

Very good from those pics. What method did you use for getting the likeness? Just tabbing in and out to compare it on Firefox?

Earned a "Ghost Sword" for a quest I stumbled upon. I think it goes well with my hybrid mage/warrior. :)

True, they could do more with that.  Maybe this was an experiment to see how people reacted to it and they will do more in the future.  I doubt they will ever put a great focus on it considering some of the fandom reacted with horror to the idea.

Yeah I really think heavy armor is the way to go for a spellsword.  I'm finding some very nice enchanted pieces that seem designed with battle mages in mind.  Eventually you get the perk where encumbrance goes away and so to me there's no drawback except having some more weight early on.

So what do you think is better? Having a bunch of Companions, with very little story to them, but ALOT of variety, and you can always find someone with a background for the character your rping to roll with. Or having a few companions who each have their own story, but may not mesh completely with your character?

I'm a bit stuck now.

Not because I'm stupid or game glitched, but in choice making.

I'm stuck in that Silver-Blood mine prison( do to quest and decided to go peacefully instead of fighting my way out) and have a choice to join some prisoners who were put there for rebellion by killing some guy in prison or kill their leader and take his key.

Thing is that reason why are they in cell and doing all that stuff is because leaders there were complete douchebags for years by doing worse things then them and I would gladly end their lives.

So yeah, I have no idea what to do now.
This prisoners went too far and deserve what they got, but they are a lesser evil then those who put them there.

So what to do?
Help them to escape, massacre city guards and possibly( not sure since I don't know does it happens) take over the city?
Or just kill their leader and escape on my own while those on rule remain unpunished?

The Silver-Bloods desreved what they get and all this is their fault in the first place.  I'd kill that bastard myself if the leader didn't do it first.

You move faster and are harder to hear coming otherwise Heavy Armor is the way to go since it will soak up more damage. For a Spellsword you need to take Heavy Armor otherwise you'll just get your head bashed in trying to fight anyone with your melee weapon.

If you're not going for a stealth approach, I'd recommend either heavy armor or sticking with robes and putting some points into the alteration perk tree that boosts your Oakflesh/Stoneflesh spells.

My issues is that Ebonyskin doesn't seem to scale with Legendary Armor. You'll still feel like you are getting roasted when a dragon breathes on you. While on my warrior in Ebonymail my health bar doesn't even move when I'm getting burned.

High Level Smithing< Anything else in this game.

It's really easy to level too which makes it disconcerting, but if you have 100 Smithing, you are creating game breaking items it seems.

I just got attacked by a blood dragon and an elder dragon at the same time. Luckily I was stocked up on potions.

Interesting, I didn't even realize that armor protects you from fire breath and elemental/poison damage.

Ok folks I'm a little behind with the board here I see as ti's 6 pages or so from the last time I posted.<G>

@Naughty thanks for the reply in regards to the Rift it cleared things up for me if that is what it's referring to. BTW in regards to armor myself I prefer heavy even though I use sneak allot. Not sure about in Skyrim but in Oblivion after your sneak skill got to a certain level it didn't go against you. And this included heavy armor.

@Msina2 Are you referring to the house in solitude for which is 25,000 gold? Who did you talk to to buy that house and is there allot of places to store things onces it's upgraded fully?

@Happy Daiz- I've yet to figure out which group is worse the Falmers or the Foresworn? They are both a pain in my A**<LOL> By the way aren't the Foresworn on the side of the Sormcloacks?

Also what quest where you referring to that you got some great looking armor?

@Cartims if your game wife is chating on thats easy to take care of take her out on a quest and let her get killed by a dragon or something. That way your hands are clean.

@Virumer-I"ve currently got Uthgerd as a companion right now. I thought that she died in our last battle as I couldn't find her. You see we were near Riverwood I was going to sell some stuff and we got attacked by Two Blood Dragons at the same time. In all the mayham I lost track of her. What saved my but in that fight was the fact that I had the Time Stop shout and potions of healing and Rengeration. I was all out of magicka so I couldn't heal myself with my spells.<G>

@Sheppard- Where did you find Mjoll the Lioness at if you don't mind my asking?

Erich- I got the ghost sword as you call it I've got it as well as for an axe, and a bow that are the same way.Was going to sell them but thought they would look good in a weapons rack in my home. <G>
