Yeah I really think heavy armor is the way to go for a spellsword.  I'm finding some very nice enchanted pieces that seem designed with battle mages in mind.  Eventually you get the perk where encumbrance goes away and so to me there's no drawback except having some more weight early on.

I know there's a perk that reduces movement speed penalties, but does that also include stamina penalties when using power attacks?

I think this is some kind of glitch.

I got a quest to clear some bandits holed up in a fort near Ivarstead. I was somewhere really far away shooting my bow at a bear. Suddenly I got a quest message indicating I killed the bandit chief and I should go pick up my reward.

Could it be that one of my arrows managed to kill the guy? I couldn't even see the fort from where I was standing.

When I arrived at the fort, there were a bunch of very suspicious bandit-looking people there, but they were apparently "guards"

I was in this area when I shot at the bear:

Wow, just hit 80 in heavy armor, and there's a perk that makes the armor weightless.

My issues is that Ebonyskin doesn't seem to scale with Legendary Armor. You'll still feel like you are getting roasted when a dragon breathes on you. While on my warrior in Ebonymail my health bar doesn't even move when I'm getting burned.

High Level Smithing< Anything else in this game.

It's really easy to level too which makes it disconcerting, but if you have 100 Smithing, you are creating game breaking items it seems.

Interesting, I didn't even realize that armor protects you from fire breath and elemental/poison damage.

It does when

The neck and ring give me magick and poison resist.

No it doesn't. And I think that we've actually found the pro's of the light armor here. Because not only do power attacks cost less in light armor, the light armor also has a perk that gives you a +50% bonus on stanima regenration. That's a bonus that the heavy armor tree doesn't get.

I was affraid that I would be completely f*cked with a Spellsword character in light armor, but I think I might get good use ouf of this. As long as I keep moving around (so the enemies have a harder time hitting me) and keep cutting the enemies from all angles with my one-handed sword, while healing myself and/or burning the enemies with my free hand, I think I might actually deal some massive damage, more so than with heavy armor.

Yeah, maybe light armor is not ideal for a Spellsword, I think I can still make good use out of it.

What is the best city to get settled in for low-level characters? My best guess is Whiterun.
Damn those ponies to Oblivion!

@Rockworm- I loved it thanks for posting the link.

@Naughty99- Perks I've got 20 of them currently in reserve for which I've not used as of yet Not to mention 6 dragon souls. Might have to go through and see which ones I want to pic and use them.

But for now I'm going to go and sell some stuff off and got finish the last leg of the "Forbidden Legend" quest. Maybe soon I'll get another dual dragon fight.<EG>

I've still not found out who you talk to in regards to buying a house in Solitude.

EDIT: Legendary Whiterun will cost you 5k in gold not counting the uprades. Its alright as I've got it. Its right next to the armor and weapons shop. As for me I've got the gold and would like to buy the House in Solitude.

If you are low level than you probably want something that's free. If you start the DB quest you'll be given an Abandoned Shack, only problem I have with it is that it can be surrounded by enemies sometimes. Other "free" houses are the questline rooms. The issue with the living space you are given before you become Guild Master, is that people travel through those rooms, and I swear to god I've seen stuff go missing. I know that damn little Babette stole my Blade of Woe.

My favorite room is the Archmage Quarters. Seriously probably the most charming room in the game with the build in garden right in the center and infinite mage light.

Anyone else sort of roleplay with the mage powers a bit? If I go into what should be a dark room I cast Candlelight even though I can see.

Also everytime I visit the Archmage room I always put of a wall a fire when I leave so no wayward Apprentice tries to sneak in. I wonder if it stays up for the full duration even after I zone out. I know summons do so it seems like it should. Would be funny if I went up there one day and found that one girl that always seems to dawdle around my office charred body in front of my room.

It would be funny.

Nah it's that High Elf woman who kept saying there should be a new Archmage when the old guy was there, and then when I got it she is trying to kiss butt. She's obviously watching to see if I make any mistakes so she could use against me when she tries to take my job. But the College of Mages will never bow to the Thalmor while I'm around. Skyrim forever!

Indeed. As I grow in influence throughout Skyrim, I will lessen the Thalmor's influence whenever possilbe.
I'm not that far into the game. Are you sure that High Elf is with the Thalmor, though?

No she wasn't with him, and she didn't trust him...but she did have the hots for him. I'm guessing they may have had a few conversations about the supiriority of the Aldmeri Dominion.

Damnit I told those kids to clean up before I got home.

I don't know how you are able to save up 20 perks like that.

There are so many great perks that I have to spend them as soon as I level up.

My only complaint: Where the HELL is the racism? Also, why is my Khajiit allowed in the cities (before anyone even knows he's Dragonborn) when the lore clearly states they are not allowed in cities.

It's not that big, but it's really bumming my immersion.

*Cough* Windhelm *Cough*. Though, I wonder if any barters will refuse to sell to you if you are a certain race. As an Argonian, I'm confused why no-one has commented on me being outside of Riften (Except for Hadvar)

Eh Elder Scroll games are always like that. An Argonian can be the Nevarine. I somehow doubt the Dark Elves would be willing to to trust a slave with all that responsibility. For those of you who supported the Argonians during their Morrowind oppression might be happy to find out that Black Marsh conquered much of Morrowind during the 4th Era....and were subsquently booted out.

Kinda funny if you think about it. The Empire is only really 3 provinces now. Cyrodil, Skyrim, Highrock. Morrowind was destroyed and is basically a collection of Freeholds now. Black Marsh declared independence at the start of the 4th Era. Hammerfell left the Empire 30 years ago.

Summerset Isle, Valenwood, and Elswyr are all part of the Aldmeri Dominion now.

I know how.  By leveling skills you don't care about just for the sake of leveling up.  In decision about which perks you do want.  Just to challenge ones self...  I'm sure there's more.

Really sad what the Empire has come to and to see the "Cataclysm" of Tamriel.
And yeah, One thing that really bugged me when I played Morrowind, was that while playing as an Argonian, all people did was "Oh look an argonian. Looks like a good pair of boots and a slave. Ha Ha. I'm leaving now". There was this one quest where I had to talk to an Argonian Informant of the Blades who was being threatened by a bunch of racist thugs who didn't even notice me as an Argonian.
Seriously, even the Ashlanders are cool with an Argonian claiming to be Nerevarine.

LOL it seems the game ignores your race.  I'm not an Argonian to my fellow Argonians as the ones in Windhelm treated me like a racist Nord.
Hell one of the Dunmer asked if I hated the other races as much as everyone else around here.
