Yeah most of the dialog implies that you are a Nord. Except when I play my Nord for some reason. On my first playthrough when I went to join the Stormcloaks, Ulfric asked me why an outsider like me would fight for Skyrim.

Yeah I was on the fence for this Civil War storyline until i got to Windhelm and saw the racism rampant here.
I came to hate Ulfric before I even met him. And having to walk through the keep a few times only to hear them repeat the same crap about crushing their enemies sealed the deal. Of all the rulers in this game he thinks he's already won and his attitude towards everyone makes me think of a WWE heel not some great ruler who will save Skyrim from the empire.
these games would be ruined if everything was blocked from you just because of what race you chose at the start but something that acknowledges you as what you are instead of the camera their talking to would be much appreciated. Maybe having to give up my weapons before being allowed entry into the other areas of the city or proving that I'm not a spy just cause I'm a Argonian would add so much to this game.

My problem is I married Aela the Huntress and now I can't find her anywhere. I even tried telling her to wait before I did the quest to attack Whiterun with the Stormcloaks. But after I do the quest she is no where to be found. Even in Jorvasker. Can anyone help me out?
Where did you have her wait. If it was inside Whiterun, perhaps that version of Whiterun during the battle is not the same as the one we normally visit. If she wasn't left inside a house perhaps the game simply left her in that version of Whiterun forever.

That could be interpreted that you grew up outside Skyrim. I think I had an option to say "Skyrim is my home."Nigawatts wrote...

*Cough* Windhelm *Cough*. Though, I wonder if any barters will refuse to sell to you if you are a certain race. As an Argonian, I'm confused why no-one has commented on me being outside of Riften (Except for Hadvar)Gigliowanananacom wrote...
My only complaint: Where the HELL is the racism? Also, why is my Khajiit allowed in the cities (before anyone even knows he's Dragonborn) when the lore clearly states they are not allowed in cities.
It's not that big, but it's really bumming my immersion.
LOL it seems the game ignores your race. I'm not an Argonian to my fellow Argonians as the ones in Windhelm treated me like a racist Nord.
Hell one of the Dunmer asked if I hated the other races as much as everyone else around here.
Did you use ShowRaceMenu in the command console? If you didnt, or are on console disregard.
Either way, I think the game thinks you're a nord because that's what the default race is when you're shown the customization window.

I agree. Aside from the "Thalmor Conquest" point I've made, The Stormcloaks and the "Skyrim for Nords" attitude is very hard to bear with and drove me away. The fact that I am Argonian and that they kicked out the "Scalebacks" Really didn't help, either. I also based the two factions on their cities:Nigawatts wrote...

Solitude
A relatively peaceful city where things seems to go rather smoothly (With a bit of unrest)and feels pleasant, if you look beyond the public executions.
Windhelm
A dilapidated cesspool of corruption where Non-Nords are put in crappy slums and it seems to be falling apart.

Incidentally, I'm hoping you don't have to opt to follow Hadvar at the start of the game if you want to side with the Empire in the long run? I've yet to get particularly far, but if escaping with Ralof automatically locks me into helping the Stormcloaks, I think I'd rather know about it before I invest dozens of hours into a character.
nope you can still join the common sense side.

I mean, not that escaping with the fellows who call you "prisoner" and sent you to an axeman's block without charge isn't tempting.
On an unrelated note: I question your business strategy, then.

I also like Hadvar more than the other guy. Think is name is Rilof or something. He is just another Ulfric ass licker. Hadvar actually seems well adjusted like when he says you should try to talk to the Stormcloaks before attacking. And how he gets smart with the Imperial Torturer.

In the long run, I wouldn't really want to side with the Stormcloaks though. Their policy of 'only us awesome light haired, light skinned types should get to live here' can sod right off.

To be fair, Hadvar didn't want you to get your head lopped off. "He/She's not on the list." If anything, you are judging the entire Legion by one b!tch captain that insisted that you'd die. Come to think of it, she's more of a plot device than an actual character.bleetman wrote...
I can't speak to that. As far as the intro goes, however, I'd be more inclined to make a run for it with the fellow who wasn't about to lop off your head. So I did.

Alduin while rather on the easy side, is still given a proper conclusion. The last battle, which I won't spoil, was properly epic. A lot better than Dagoth Ur whacking, Akatosh vs. Mehrunes Dagon watching, and Liberty Prime following. You, not some weapon, bastard, or robot was what saved the world. The Dovakiin fought the World Eater and won. That is why I think Skyrim is Bethesda's best main campaign, but it could have still been better.

RPGamer-contrary to what you think your wrong.<G> I don't work on things I don't like or aren't going to use just for the perks. I use marksman, heavy armor, 1 handed, sneak, Lockpicking, Just like in Oblivion. I hardlly use any spells 'cept for restoration spells. Only thing different in this game and Oblivion I used 2 handed for melee no shield. This time I will be working on enchanting and Blacksmithing as I want to make a set of Daedric armor.
Everyone- Now I'm curious as to what side are the Foresworn on? Because if the attack me one more time without provication I'm going to make it my personal vendetta to wipe them out of Skyrim forever.
Nigawatts- You've played through the whole game all ready? How in the world didi you do that?

I really wish the Main Quest forced you to resolve the Civil War though. It just seems like such a side story in this game. Almost and afterthought. Skyrim's future is on the line completely, the damn war was in a prophecy, but when you actually play it it's nothing more than 2 battles and a few skirmishes.

Have you guys noticed how your screenshots appear on the background of your Steam game's page in the library. Found that out a few days ago when I selected Skyrim in the games library and I was like "that character in the background looks familiar"

Nope. That doesn't work.Il Divo wrote...
Go back to the final dungeon where you help Kadlok and return to that final room. If you still have any of the Witch heads from that previous quest, just throw them into that magic blue fire.
I've got 3 of the witch heads, I went back to Ysgramor’s Tomb, went through it, got to the blue fire thing in front of Ysgramor’s statue, activated it and... nothing. nothing happens.
One other thing that's annoying me right now:
Ok, after you become the Harbinger of the Companions, each member of the circle has quests for you... But.... you can only get them one at a time. So, I started with the Huntress chick. she gave me a quest and I accepted it. Great. I didn't feel like doing it at the time so I went ahead and pursued other things. Now I'm ready. Problem: I don't remember what that quest is, and no one else from the companions will give me their quests until I finish hers. And NOTHING in the journal indicates which quest is the Huntress' chick's.

They had to give some weaknesses to offset the inherent urge to side with the home team and the underdog. It doesn't sound like Ulfric actively hates other races, people say he mistrusts the elves (because of association with the Thalmor I imagine) and won't lift a hand to help them. But if you do quests around town you find out the guard is stretched thin anyway. I wonder if he could come around. It would be interesting to play an elf supporting the Stormcloaks.Rockworm503 wrote...

In Markarth there's a book about him that also alleges he committed atrocities there, but it's written by an Imperial so it's probably a pack of lies.
Their dialogue in the Keep changes if you do their quests.
It's getting rather spoilery around here...
