On topic, I find dragons to be a little too weak. I'm more afraid of frost trolls than dragons lol.

I just started playing Tuesday night, I've gotten in...maybe five to eight hours (anyone know a way to check that?). Just encountered my first frost troll on the Seven Thousand Steps. At first I charged right in and attacked him, then I realized that he just wasn't going down, and he was seriously hurting me. Thankfully I had two fireball spells that equaled 100 points of damage between them, and I was able to kill him. Died like three or four times first though.

The only dragon I've encountered so far has been the initial quest one...I assume that's the one you kill just outside of Whiterun. It was fairly easy because you have that tower to hide in.

It has to do with the area that you find them in. Frost trolls hang out higher up in elevation in areas that are designed for higher level characters. A parallel would be the deathclaw areas in Fallout New Vegas.

Dragons are like an area by themselves, so the dragons that spawn are scaled a bit lower if you are lower level.

In my case, at this point mostly Blood Dragons and Frost Dragons are spawning and I have not been able to kill a single one by myself. The first time I encountered one I died about 10 times and finally I had to run and try to make the dragon chase me into a giant camp to get some help from angry giants.

I got destroyed by that Frost troll at High Hrothgar so many times. Maybe the trolls are the real threat?

If you increase the difficulty Dragons do become a problem, because their breath attack seems to be multiplied substantially. The issue is that Dragonrend sort of pwns every dragon you meet, so about halfway through the campaign they stop being a threat even at higher diffculties and really just become a chore.

You have to understand, Dragons are this games version of Ash Vampires and Oblivion Gates. Ash Vampires were fine and dandy, but so out of the way to get to, and nobody wants to have to do a Courage Triforce quest at the end of a game.

Sigil Stones were a ****ing pain in the ass. Not only was Oblivion (the realm not the entre game) completely boring. I mean after Kvatch my eyes get tired of seeing red on red on red on red on black. Not only that but a large chunk of the game was closing Oblivion Gates. I think Bethesda just didn't want people to have to go through that bull**** again, so Dragon battles are quick and easy if you know what you are doing, and mildly intresting if you don't.

However my main issues is this... The Dragons have 3 basic attacks.

Dragon: Breath, Flying Breath, Ground Attack, Random Grabs (which only seem to happen to random PC).

Blood Dragon: Breath, Flying Breat, Ground Attack, Breath Burst.

Frost Dragon: Ice Breath, Flying Ice Breath, Ground Attack, Frost Breath Burst

Elder Dragon: Same

Ancient Dragon: Same

Alduin: Same, Meteor Shout. Won't land without Dragonrend.

Dragons invented Shouts. THEY SHOULD BE USING SHOUTS.

The Grab is actually a finishing move, it doesn't happen unless your health is down to a certain percentage.

The breath attacks are also their shouts. The ones the dragons don't use, can be used by the higher tier Draugr.

I hate that Disarm attack. Worst is, when you use it on them the NPCs can always quickly find their weapon again, whereas I'm running around the dungeon like an idiot.

^ Worst part about that is the first Dragon fight takes place by a tower...I mean it's so ****ing tempting to recreate that moment...too bad you get ****ing owned if you stay on top of it.

Anyone finding their houses to be glitched? I've been saving up to buy a love nest in Windhelm but don't have an option to furnish it. I think maybe it's because I didn't finish the quest that involves that house, because that's also glitched. Oy oy.

Yeah I can't seem to buy the house in Markath.
Apparently I'm meant to do 3 quests for the Jarl, which I've done two of but the last one won't appear.

Wow. It's a good thing I am off today. Played all night long. Ghehe.

Finally finished the Legion quests. It's a bit too chaotic for me. I like to sneak my way around with a bow. :P

The College is starting to look like a dragon graveyard. One corpse on the roof and 3 are blocking the main entrance. :P

The stagger perk in the Destruction tree works on everything, even dragons. Once you get them to land, they can't do anything as long as you have mana to dual-cast your spells (and a High Elf always has mana).

My only complaint: Where the HELL is the racism? Also, why is my Khajiit allowed in the cities (before anyone even knows he's Dragonborn) when the lore clearly states they are not allowed in cities.

It's not that big, but it's really bumming my immersion.

Try using a High or Dark elf as your character.
You'll taste the cold bitter Nord racism then.

And everyone is trying to make a rag from my poor Khajit...

Yea, for some reason they love that place, pretty much 50% of the time I'm at Winterhold College I see the students and teachers in the courtyard go ready their spells and a large shadow circling overhead :P

Ok, people, explain it to me: why is my 20lvl dunmer is a two-shot ragdoll for the bandits and thugs? On the other hand I have to try really HARD to take down warriors in heavy armour and a shield.
And everyone says these enemies are a breeze... not to me they arent.

My stats: magika 190 health145 stamina 210. Lvl 20. Armour class - light, rating about 45.
Light armour about 25, one-handed ~35
Damage - dualwielding, 18-20 each blade (plus some enchantements.
The rised dead I conjure are tougher than me! last night I was figting an archer. he had but a dagger and still managed to kill... no, mop up with me few times before I managed to kill that bastard.
Playing on expert.

About the difficulty lvl - is it only about damage dealt and taken or is it about using advanced moves/tactics/skills-perks-spells and so forth? If the former I think I'll go go down a step to the default...

Took some time off today for Saints Row 3 but I was itching to get back in. Hell I'd be playing it now if it wasn't so late. Gotta get some sleep sadly.
