They told people from the beginning to level naturally. To me this means developing crafting skills slowly alongside combat and defensive skills. If you spend hours making daggers, you're unbalancing your game- don't blame the system.Warheadz wrote...
Bethesda kinda shot themselves in the foot with smithing and enchanting, IMO. If you know one of them, or both, well... The loot loses all meaning since you can make far better stuff yourself. All it's good for anymore is money and enchantment gathering.

Not much sense having the best equipment if you can't properly use them.

Hjerim definitely does, at least according to the description in the "decorating guide." I just didn't get any option to buy that stuff from Jorleif.happy_daiz wrote...

Yep, and I think what happened is, I got ahead of myself and tried to skip some of the running around, and ended up with nothing I could do and no more quest updates from Jorleif. Argh. I hope all of this effort will mean I eventually get a clean house (Hjerim is the player house in Windhelm, in case you weren't aware).happy_daiz wrote...
I looked it up this morning, and realized that one glaring mistake I made was to not listen to what I was told. Follow the blood, you say? No way, I'm going to just stand here and wonder why nothing happens.
I'm still trying to figure out what is a house, and what is a business in Windhelm. That town is a dang maze! Good to know, thanks!
I have been trying to wrap up Jarl quests so I can buy another house; the one in Whiterun is maxed out. So, out of curiosity, do any of the larger houses let you add an enchantment station? *crossing fingers*
And you're right- Windhelm is a maze!

Even with enchanting and smithing, it's still more advantageous to first increase your combat skills.

Yeah thats kind of common sense when you thinkg about it.
Its like the Blacksmith in Whiterun who has spent her whole life making armor expecting to be good at fighting in it with no training.

Okay, so I hit another quest line that freezes my 360...the Companions quest, The Silver Hand. Guess I'll be waiting for the patch for that too before I can embrace my bestial side. Between freezing up on that quest and The Forsworn Conspiracy, I'm getting a little nervous. I'm not sure whether to blame the game or my xbox, or possibly a combination of the two, but it's making me very sad.
I ran into M'aiq the Liar for the first time in Skyrim. I think he must be a secret Daedra lord, since he is in several games spanning hundreds of years, and always talks with the hero.
Regarding marriage: There are exactly 62 specific NPCs it is possible to marry in Skyrim, some shopkeepers, hired companions, housecarls and the like, and so far, I haven't found any eligible ones to be even slightly interesting for me. I married a random, dark elf shopkeeper just to see what it was like and get the achievement, but I reloaded it as I was unimpressed. My character has the hots for Brynjolf in the Thieves Guild, but sadly, he isn't an option.
I gave up on horses when my 1,000 gold investment killed itself by attacking a blood dragon alone while I was clearing a cave.

Good News from Another Universe
"First Skyrim DLC announced
Fears of horse armour and oddly disconnected standalone dungeons were allayed today, as Bethesda revealed the first DLC for Skyrim would be a complete, faithful remake of the entirety of Morrowind in the updated engine. “Well, it was perhaps our finest hour,” said a man. “Seems silly not to keep it alive, doesn’t it?"
It's a joke article.

Is anyone on PC having mouse issues? The game thinks my right button is the left one and vice versa. It gets very confusing during battles.
I think that's intended. LMouse for right swing, and RMouse for left swing. I think you can change it though?

In my case, when dual wielding, left mouse is left weapon and right mouse is the right one.
Perhaps you are thinking of the buttons use for blocking with two-handed weapon?

Man, that Dwarven Centurion Guardian in Mzinchelaft, just about wore me out! Ice Trolls, Dragons, Giants (well maybe Giants) have nothing on him. Nothing I had in my inventory was effective against him except for my Glass Bow. It was a war of attrition, sprinting past him, shoot two arrows, stay out of range of his attack or (time it staying put and taking damage to get another shot off/heal), oh, and try to keep Lydia alive. 6 reloads later, we were successful. The main problem was keeping Lydia alive. Loot was worth it throughout the ruins though.
Yeah I just went there to get the sword for Mjoll. I was getting my butt handed to me until I remembered I had the Sanguine Rose staff and summoned my Daedric prince buddy to beat up the centurion:wizard:

I mean when I have a sword in my right hand and a spell or shield in my left. I'd expect the right button to swing the sword, but it is the opposite.
Not just combat. Same goes when assigning the weapon/ability. Left click adds the item to the right hand.

M'aiq was soul trapped once. Not very pleasant. You should think about that once in a while.Bekkael wrote...

And over on the Bethesda forums, people are already trying to fix the PC menus/UI. These are just mock ups by somebody over there, but they look so much better than whats in the game now:
Wow that looks much better. Is it possible to mod the UI like that currently? When is the SDK available?

No date on the CK. Plenty of people upset about that. And no you won't be able to touch the UI most likey till the CK is released.

So I've been doing the Thieve's GUild quests and well I had sold my armor that I was given and now I can't buy from the fence in The Red Flaggon or oes anyone know the item codes?
Just finish the thieves guild quest line.
You get way better and badass looking armor while you are one of the quests.
And get the mask of Krosis if you call yourself an archer assassin.
