I looked it up this morning, and realized that one glaring mistake I made was to not listen to what I was told. Follow the blood, you say? No way, I'm going to just stand here and wonder why nothing happens. Image IPB

Yep, and I think what happened is, I got ahead of myself and tried to skip some of the running around, and ended up with nothing I could do and no more quest updates from Jorleif.  Argh.  I hope all of this effort will mean I eventually get a clean house (Hjerim is the player house in Windhelm, in case you weren't aware).

I'm still trying to figure out what is a house, and what is a business in Windhelm. That town is a dang maze! Good to know, thanks! Image IPB

I have been trying to wrap up Jarl quests so I can buy another house; the one in Whiterun is maxed out. So, out of curiosity, do any of the larger houses let you add an enchantment station? *crossing fingers*

Hjerim definitely does, at least according to the description in the "decorating guide."  I just didn't get any option to buy that stuff from Jorleif.  Image IPB  I'm hoping that if I can get Blood on the Ice to work, it will unbug the house, too.

And you're right- Windhelm is a maze!

Okay!  I finally got Blood on the Ice to finish.  This might be a bit spoilery.

Once you get access to Hjerim, loot the bloody chest to the left of the doorway.  This will give you an update.  Go back to Jorleif and ask about the Butcher.  He tells you to talk to Viola Giordano.  She solves the murders for you.  Once you go back to Jorleif and accuse the guilty party, the quest is finished.  I skipped her before, tried to fix it another way, and couldn't finish the quest.

Now to backtrack on my Stormcloak dirty business so I can get Hjerim.  :wizard:

Slow down Slim it's not possible at this point. Here is another problem with the UI. The way it's designed is just terrible.

Someone's been already working on a new UI concept in the mod section. What'cha think?

I commented on that earlier =P
It looks really good I can't wait till it's available or maybe a Darnified UI for Skyrim though I read on the Skyrim forums there hasn't been any word from in a long time so who knows.

I'm thinking the guards "Let me guess someone stole your sweetroll" Is going to be the new meme. Going to be bigger than "This wasteland almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter" from New Vegas.

New Texture Mod

It is still WIP(Work in Progress), but it's pretty Damn good so far.
if anything i'll be leaving him feedback(he says he'll be looking for it), if someone else finds something iffy about the textures(there are PLENTY), leave him comments, come on, you will need an account to download the Mod anyway.

also another thing that got my attention(i don't know if this was posted already, the last time i read this thread was on page 380), PC Gamer has cheat codes for it:

www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/16/skyrim-console-commands-let-you-cheat-and-do-other-stuff/

Those are the exact same codes as FO3 and Oblivion, wasn't this a Hole new engine?

if this was already posted then i'll delete.

Ok, I'm getting sick of fighting dragons now. It seems that every time I go to a city a dragon attacks it. Every time I fast travel somewhere, even little farms.

Now they're Elder dragons, is the game trying to make me get back on the main storyline lol. I've stopped even taking the bones and scales because I have too many as it is, and I'm tired of having to go back home to get rid of the weight.

Haha- all Lydia does is sit around and eat cheese all day. Literally, I get back from adventuring and she's glued to the one chair eating a wheel of cheese:lol: Although she's not my PC's wife, but still, she doesn't stop eating!

I think the whole thing in saying Skyrim isn't Gamebryo is sort of PR nonsense. The Creation Engine or whatever Bethesda is calling it is clearly based on the same backbone as Fallout and Oblivion. They just drastically overhauled a lot of it. Its like how Portal 2 is technically using the Source Engine but its a radically overhauled Source engine compared to Half Life 2.

I've been thinking of sticking an Arrow...no a ****ing arrow, no this is not a sexual euphemism. Just a Steel Arrow into her Chest for that. I mean I come in shes in MY damn bed room just eating. A Guard was in my house on the lower level, her? Eating. I can be having sex with whom ever I wed, and I bet she'll be there watching the show eating. Hell I was kidnaped by the Dark Brotherhood while she sat there eating. They say Gluttony is a Sin, and I may send her on her way to hell for it.

It's fun - I tried it and "died" a few times and had to start over.

I tell you what I'm so sick of the lousy pathfinding and companion AI. If my moron helper blocks a door and doesn't move again I might just burn her to death on principle. I'm perpetually attacked by some bears, wolves, sabre teeth, in the wild and my companion is lost somewhere back the down trying to figure out how to catch up and can't help me.

THIS.

i'm so sick of Dragons now(i seriously never thought i would say that), they're way overused(And i swear to god, there was a dragon that was following me for half the country for about an Hour, the idiot wouldn't me alone).

I'm sure the fanboys are all sucking off Bethesda and saying "NUUUUUU, NUUUUU, MOAR DDDRRRRRAAAAGOOOONNNNZZZ!!!!", but personally, i want something moderately.

if it's too little or nothing, it's underwhelming(like The Ultima Series, where in several games, as i didn't played ALL of them, there were NO important decicions to make), and it's too much, or literally everything that has, it's Obnoxious(i bet DA2 just jumped on many people's mind).

What boggles my mind the most is why did they made so much talk about.
"LOOK AT THE THINGZ AUR ENJINE KAN DO!!! DRRRRAGONZZZZZ!!!! NIW ANIMATIONZZZ!!!".

they could have just said they overhauled some of the encoding, and be done with it.

and, hell, at least VALVe didn't bothered changing the title for Portal 2.

How funny. They do that same joke in Saints Row the Third. But there its actually part of the main plot. Image IPB

I remember there being a choose your own adventure program in a computer in Fallout 3.

Also I haven't encountered a dragon in ages.  Thats the thing about random encounters sometimes you get them sometimes you dont and sometimes you get sick of them.

Ran into my first game breaking bug.  Doing the mage collage storyline and I'm supposed to freeze and burn this crystal to shine light.
I had to look it up on youtube to even know there was supposed to be light in the room.  Don't get any light.  Had to use a console command to make it think I did it :pinched: would've liked to solve the puzzle without resorting to the console.

Not sure what fanboys have to do with it, but yeah I've heard some people saying there's a lot of dragons. I haven't seen one since whiterun so I feel like I'm missing out on them period.  :(

I've noticed that flame atronachs also hunt flying dragons and they never miss. Next time I'll try to summon one and see if that works. ;)

That he did!

And Captain Armando Bailey is the general of the legion; And Jentha from the blue suns is the leader of the dark brotherhood.

There are ME/DA voice actors here and there.

Yep something like that. Even if you look at the first few bytes of "Skyrim.esm" file you can read "TES4" in the header.

Check this forum and download OP's guide. There is a list of console codes for almost everything - Armors, weapons, potions ... every single book ... even spells and shouts.

I've been mostly messing around with exploring and crafting, but how are the companions? Are any of them fleshed out with their own quests and such like Fallout: NV? Or are they mostly just an extra meat shield.

Most of them are just meat shields, from what I've seen*. Really very useful meat shields that pitch in comments in dungeons and the like (albeit the same handful of "this doesn't look good" or "omg wow" style comments, but at least they're not completely mute) but meat shields all the same. There are times when they cause me a great deal of frustration as a thief type, because none of the ones I've encountered  are very adept at sneaking.

*Note, 'what I've seen' should by no means be equated with 'everything there is to see'.
