I think I was fixed on the idea of "Nedes=Atmorans" from something in Daggerfall. "The nords are a race of tall, powerful humans descended from Nedes bla bla bla". That's obvious. Daggerfall's Lore has been rewritten in later games.

You know you still could be fixed to that idea, if you want to.

As I said, it's an alternate viewpoint.

I guess, If it isn't confirmed. Many sources. *Shrugs*

Yes! Pete Hines finally confirms that Bethesda is aware that the PS3 version is severely broken! Hopefully they patch it soon enough, my game is already having the slow lag of death.

I don't know if anyone has asked this yet, but, what do you think would happen if a Dragon Born killed an archdemon?

Interesting...I don't think anything would happen, because an archdemon is basically a high dragon that's been possessed with an Old God. So when it's killed, it is released...it only goes to the Wardens because they have the taint within them, and it recognizes that. It's not the soul of a dragon, it's an Old God trapped in a deagon's body.

I think.

I thought the Old Gods were dragons? If there is no Warden around when someone "kills" the archdemon the soul goes to the nearest darkspawn and the whole thing starts over, the reason a Warden has to kill the archdemon is that the taint is the only thing that can destroy an archdemon's soul. I think.

I don't know that the Old Gods are dragons...I don't THINK so, but I'm not certain.

And yeah, the taint is the only thing that works...so the Dragonborn wouldn't be able to kill it.

Because Bethesda never changes...
PS3 always seems to be at the bottom of Bethesda's priorities. Also with Bethesda games usually being buggy messes at launch.

Okay, is anyone running into this many dragons? This is getting absolutely ridiculous. I go to do a random mission for the companions at a little mining town, and....

I notice that my stats say I have completed a Dark Brotherhood quest...odd because I am yet to find any mention of the brotherhood...bug perhaps?

Warning...very minor spoiler ahead

I think you may have done the quest "Delayed Burial" which is located north of whiterun at Loreius farm, you could be forgiven for not realising it had anything to do with the dark brotherhood as it isnt mentioned at the time and only becomes apparent later on when the Jester "Cicero" re appears

I think they improved quite a bit. This is their game with the least bugs ever on release. (well, with the day-one patch).

LMAO. Armor rating 711 now. Are there any enchantements to raise armor ? Or is it max possible ?

If you have Smithing at 100 and high Enchanting, you can  improve them a bit more. Not sure if the Blacksmith's Elixir is the most potent (+50% on improving stuff). But with a potion like that and a 15% Fortify Smithing ring it works fine. Now, with high Enchanting, disenchant that ring and you can craft one much better.

I have +60% to Enchantment power (3/5 - next is level 80 required) and I'm 2 levels away from the +25% to Fortify Skills on Enchantments. Right now I can craft a +19% Smithing ring but I'm waiting for these two extra perks. I have 620 AC with a full set of Ebony Armor. I think I could have a hell lot more with Daedric or Dragonbone but I'll stick with Ebony. As it is now, it is hard enough to raise Heavy Armor skill because some enemies don't even hurt me when they hit and then the skill doesn't move a bit. heh (88 atm - char level 40)

Only found Fortify Heavy Armor on Potions or I'd have disenchanted the item. I think it will be possible to get the +100% Enchantment power and the extra enchantment per item. Then I'll craft and enchant everything again! =)

The game is quite demanding on my social life though. With over 106 hrs, some 200 locations discovered and only 63 dungeons clears, a huge list of major and miscellaneous quests, it became very hard to decide where to go next so I keep going random, which means discovering more locations and opening even more quests... aff... crazy stuff.

Plus I'm having fun with the satellite they used to make the map google-earth like:

Can anyone tell me what makes the Dragonborn special? I don't understand if the Greybeards and Ulfric Stormcloak can use shouts why is the Dragonborn so important?

the dragonborn is able to absorb dragon souls and learn shouts instantly, unlike the greybeards, who must study for many years.

I'm not sure if Ulfric might be another dragonborn, or whether he studied for many years like the greybeards.

You can talk to him about this.  He tells you that he studied with the Greybeards but gave it up, and that unlike everyone else, the Dragonborn can use the shouts freely and learn them quickly.  He's not Dragonborn.  The Greybeards think the language should only be used in worship of Kynareth.  They seem to be monks?  I haven't been up there to see them yet.

About the scaling- people complain but I was thinking today that for me it's been perfect. I'm not overly frustrated, but I have had to think through every level up and see crafting as a long-term investment, think about my potion inventory, and improve my followers. Meanwhile I can still be killed by bandits if I'm stupid or unprepared. That's exactly the way it should be and this is one of the better games I've played in terms of balance.

I just love killing these stuck-up Thalmor. They're not so high and mighty anymore when you fireball them off a cliff. I hate them, they give High Elves a bad name.

That hasn't been confirmed. Ingame codex says they are but the codex is written in character not as an ominisent narrator like in Mass Effect which represents only fact (I think can't remember the whole codex) so maybe nothing would happen but if? Well imagine a person shouting in Draconian and commanding an army of Darkspawn.

Not at all like how Todd Howard said is it? I'm starting to see Dragon skeletons everywhere so I started using my Fireboltx2 to clean the place up with the crazy physics it's kind of fun to see how far I can throw them.

Okay, has anyone else found an item for sale that looks like a chest and is called 'Do Not Delete' ??

I did.  I bought it, then went to an enchanting table and disenchanted it.  The explosion almost sent me to another dimension.

lol just kidding.

PS: I just found a  "Curious Silver Mold"

Anyone know what its purpose is?

High five. Nothing I enjoy more than killing the TRUE enemies of Skyrim, not the Empire but those damn Thalmor Imperialists and n@zIs. They are so high and mighty even by High Elven standards.

Should I invest gold to buy the house in Whiterun? Is it helpful for low-level characters? I'm finding many valuable items that I wish to collect, not sell.

Not necessarily kill, but rather what would happen if the Dragonborn absorbed an archdemon soul. If I'm remembering this correctly, there has to be a Warden for the killing blow, but if there isn't one, the soul is absorbed by a nearby darkspawn (because they are soulless) and the archdemon continues to live. I'm not sure if the darkspawn becomes a dragon or what. The Dragonborn is well equipped to absorb dragon's souls. I was just wondering (hypothetically) what would happen if the Dragonborn did kill an archdemon.

I've been reading some of the in-game books because I like to collect them, I have this book called Thief that I really want to read but when I opened to the first page, the very first line was about how this one was the second in a series of books and the author won't recap what's already happened. I think the book is called Beggar? Am I missing some sort of joke here, because I can't find the first book?

I could be wrong but wouldn't the majority of Altmer of Summerset Isle (Now called "Alinor") see the Thalmor as oppressors? The Thalmor basically usurped the throne and turned the place into the fascist, racist and oppressive dominion they had in the second era.

It's helpful to have a place to store things, especially if you like to collect books, armors, weapons, etc...  and it is near the smithy which was a plus for me. I also bought the property in Solitude, which is far grander and the atmosphere is befitting of a noble or merchant with a purse full of gold.

It's not a joke.  I found the first book.  It's a skill book.    Beggar.  it raises your pickpocket skill (or sneak skill.  can't remember which one).  And the story is merely  a  about how the guy first came to be a thief.  The second book, which you found, is about his first heist.

If you plan on keeping anything it will be the best idea.  Inside a house you own is the only way you can know for sure it'll stay there.  With all the loot in these kinds of games you HAVE to have somewhere to offload when the shops don't have enough money or its night.
lol I'm not patient enough to stick around.

Cool. My sneak is already maxed out, so it might not be that useful to me, but I still like to read the books.

Yeah in Oblivion you could safely store in grain sacks, but I haven't trusted any containers so I've been throwing stuff on the floor in Windhelm keep. lol  Even then it's dangerous as the physics will sometimes let stuff slip through the floor.  I was worried about NPCs picking stuff up but I don't think they did, a guard just yelled at me for dropping a weapon.

That happened once, a chick gave me a potion I had dropped.
