Yeah they do that. A courier returned some useless notes to me because he saw me drop them.

That happened once, a chick gave me a potion I had dropped.

A beggar asked me if he could keep the trash I had dropped! hahaha

Now, if the Empire could not keep the Altmer off their backs while Skyrim was not rebelled and had to submit, what difference will it make if they keep Skyrim? Skyrim will have a much better chance to defeat its enemies if stand together as one own independent country! Vive la revolution!

No... it wouldn't. A newly independent country would have very little chance, after a civil war, to defend against a dominion. Essentially, the Dominion's plan is to divide and conquer and it would be a success if Skyrim had became independent. Skyrim would be overrun within a month. With Skyrim, they resist the Dominion's expansion.

Thank god there's a new patch coming next week. I accidentally married a person and if I kill them I can't marry anyone else and get the food and sleep bonuses. Hopefully that bug gets fixed. That and maybe some of the freezing problems like when you try to sleep and never wake up out of the loading screen :\\

I spent the past 3 hours and thousands of gold pieces working on my Enchanting skills to get it to 80... it's crazy but totally worthy it. Now I can Enchant items, Improve Armor and Weapons, Barter and Carry Weight a lot better.

Of course, getting Enchanting to 100 will be even more crazy but I'll only do it after many more hours of regular gaming, questing, etc. or it becomes a chore. I'm just sooooo glad I didn't choose Alchemy. It raises a lot slower than Enchanting and it's much more boring.

BTW, I need one Daedra's heart for a quest but I only found 1 in the game on a loot and used it on another quest in Markath. Where are the Aedras and Daedra's in this game? Read we can buy hearts in Alchemist Shops after level 25 but I never found one for sale. Did anyone?

I don't think it would be a newly independent country. I think they are already an old country, not always part of the Empire and they are only part of the Empire because the first Emperor was one of them! Once they're united again as one independent country, no one can conquer them, not on their lands.

Also, History teaches that a newly independent country of 500,000 people could resist and actually win a war against 50 million angry neighbors.

Of course, I might be wrong but so could any of us. I'm just holding on to my Nord background and I don't think supporting an Empire which already lost to the elves would have any advantage. Nords will kick Altmer's ass!

I think they improved quite a bit. This is their game with the least bugs ever on release. (well, with the day-one patch).

LMAO. Armor rating 711 now. Are there any enchantements to raise armor ? Or is it max possible ?

If you have Smithing at 100 and high Enchanting, you can  improve them a bit more. Not sure if the Blacksmith's Elixir is the most potent (+50% on improving stuff). But with a potion like that and a 15% Fortify Smithing ring it works fine. Now, with high Enchanting, disenchant that ring and you can craft one much better.

I have +60% to Enchantment power (3/5 - next is level 80 required) and I'm 2 levels away from the +25% to Fortify Skills on Enchantments. Right now I can craft a +19% Smithing ring but I'm waiting for these two extra perks. I have 620 AC with a full set of Ebony Armor. I think I could have a hell lot more with Daedric or Dragonbone but I'll stick with Ebony. As it is now, it is hard enough to raise Heavy Armor skill because some enemies don't even hurt me when they hit and then the skill doesn't move a bit. heh (88 atm - char level 40)

Only found Fortify Heavy Armor on Potions or I'd have disenchanted the item. I think it will be possible to get the +100% Enchantment power and the extra enchantment per item. Then I'll craft and enchant everything again! =)

The game is quite demanding on my social life though. With over 106 hrs, some 200 locations discovered and only 63 dungeons clears, a huge list of major and miscellaneous quests, it became very hard to decide where to go next so I keep going random, which means discovering more locations and opening even more quests... aff... crazy stuff.

Plus I'm having fun with the satellite they used to make the map google-earth like:

Ah ok,thx. I have a ring +12% but completely forgot about it.
And about this elixir - can I buy it somewhere - because my Alchemy skill is almost non-existent.

If you mark either quest as active, it should give you a map marker.  Go into the quest list, mark it as active, then hit M... or whatever you do on a console... and it will switch to map showing where you need to go.  It's across the river from Riverrun and up in the hills.

The claw opens a door in Bleak Falls Barrow. If you set the signs on the door like the show in the claw. 3 signs.

Addai, she's already got the claw in there. It's already opened in the map!

Its the same dungeon you found the claw in.
You get a word of power from there so its worth looking at (in fact its part of the main quest and ties to the dragon shouts)

Anyway I finally made it to Riften and can't believe I waited so long.  Loving the thieves guild quest line so far and after all my previous time spent in Windhelm its a nice change of scenery from all the snowy mountains.
I've put real thought into my character.  I've been corrupted by all the evil in the world so my usually good, rightous Argonian is starting to be pulled to the dark side of things.

Minor spoilers*

I didn't hesitate to kill that old hag in the orphanage after that kid thought I was an agent of the Dark Brotherhood.  I was intending to stay away from doing those for this playthrough for roleplaying reasons but seeing how she was treating those poor kids was just too much for me.  And now the thieves guild has pulled me in with their promise of riches.  My Argonian has shifted priorities.  Its no longer doing whats right because its the right thing to do but instead its how much money can I get from this?
Its ironic because when I was poor it didn't matter

Also people complaining about too many dragons?  Well here's a kicker my last few days I've only encountered one and all it did was fly around me then leave :(.  I have no souls on me and it wouldn't matter if I did cause I haven't found a new word in ages.

When your enchanting is high enough to have extra +25% on Fortify Skill Perks and 4/5 of Enchantment Power perk (+80%) - assuming you're going enchanting like I did, use that 12% ring to learn the enchantment Fortify Smithing.

I now have an Amulet and a Ring with +20% Smithing each. I can forge up to +25% with the next EP perk (5/5) but I am busy questing and collecting souls, gems and leather to enchant leather bracers till 100 Enchanting skill. hehe Then I will improve and enchant a whole new set of Ebony Armor I already have ready, waiting for 2 Enchantments on each item, plus Ring and Amulet. ( +30% 2-handed damage or +60 Health/Stamina/Mana Regen (depending on the item) with +30% Resistances on each will be a life saver. I hate those fireballs they cast at me. Without potions I die to 2 of them.)

I found a few of those elixires and draughts. Blacksmith's Draught for +30% and Elixir for +50%. I think we can buy them too.

SPOILER:

Go to bleak falls barrow. Find doors like this :
Image IPB

now go to your inventory and zoom-in on this golden claw. There are 3 symbols on it.
You must activate symbols on those doors and set them to match those from that claw.
Go forward, you will find a wall with the word of the shout. Now kill Draugr and take dragonstone from his corpse.

It's not a dragon stone, it's a word wall..  Go back  to the barrow.     And bring the claw with you.  There should be giant  (can't miss it) Door with giant circular panels on it.  Use the claw as a key and solve the door  puzzle.  On the other side is what you seek.

also, this game puts dragon age 2 to shame :)

Guys what is the quickest and cheapest way of raising your enchantment skill?

Right now I'm leveling up my enchantment skill together with my smithing skill. I'm smiting tons of daggers when after that I enchant all those daggers and then sell them back to the blacksmith. However, this is a very expensive method. I currently used up all my soul gems and I only raised my enchantment skill by 5 levels. Now I need to buy new soul gems and fill them up with souls, which is very expensive and very tedious.

Isn't there a faster, cheaper and more productive way of raising my enchantment skill?

Easy mistake.  Whose to know that a wall is going to be so important?  I can totally see how you could pass it up.  Just listen for that music that swells as you get closer to it and you'll know your at one.

What if I don't want to steal because it doesn't fit the character that I'm roleplaying (I'm sort of a paladin-like Breton, paladins don't steal imo).

Disenchanting magical item works nicely.
And  you can always go to trainer and train Enchanting 5 times / level.

And remember - before making some bigger disenchanting/enchanting - first go to The Mage Stone and activate it (magic skills improve 20% faster) then sleep in your house for at least 8 hours (that will give you another +10% boost for 8 hours - "Well rested" status)

The Jarl's mage wants a dragonstone..it's apparantly a map to show where to find dragons...
I did the quest before meeting the Jarl and didn't want to encumber myself with useless items and left it ...so had to go back for the stone..

Take a pickaxe with you as you explore.. I haven't done much in terms of enchanting or smithing so thats the best I can think of.

Warning...very minor spoiler ahead

I think you may have done the quest "Delayed Burial" which is located north of whiterun at Loreius farm, you could be forgiven for not realising it had anything to do with the dark brotherhood as it isnt mentioned at the time and only becomes apparent later on when the Jester "Cicero" re appears

thanks...I had suspicions that that was the one...
