As much as I hate the thalmor, you can't call them weak when they managed to defeat and sack the IMPERIAL CAPITOL.

Bethesda is modeling the empire after the romans, which makes the thalmor the barbarian hordes. :3

Sorry, but your all caps shouting screams for it: It's called the Imperial City, it's the capital of the Empire and I'm fairly certain it has no capitol.

And anyway, no, that lazy comparison does not hold up. The Imperial Province being based on the Roman Empire does not mean any successful outside opposition automatically equals the Germanics. If anything the Thalmor resemble a Carthage come back from the dead in full force.

my thoughts darkbrotherhood wasnt as good as tes 4 also prefered tes 4s mission layout but love the story and back story it was about time the elves showed the imperials they were too weak to have an empire!

Don't worry the argonians will probably pick up the slack and slap you silly elves back into the ground as worm food.

Damn straight. Argonian power! Also, where are the Provinces of Black Marsh and (Conquered) Morrowind in all of this? Seems that they don't care too much that a High Elven Dominion will be at their doorstep soon.

i play dunmer and i hope the Argonians do take control of morrowind as its in chaos and i dont like the High Elven Dominion thinking they have the right to come into the other races homeland and arrest them!

I used a 2H axe and got a downward chop, and one where she kicked the opponent as he was down- lol

I've also heard of decaps but never saw one myself, before switching to war axe.

The Argonians have control of the ravaged Morrowind and treat the Dark Elves better than the Thalmor would (Lesser Elves). They'll get conquered if they don't ally with the Provinces of Men, I guess.
EDIT: If the Thalmor succeed, They might even ban the worship of Nerevar :o

Be careful with Argonians, they are sneaky. :P They have sown disease in their swamp when they saw their land chosen by other races. Of course they took advantage of their immunity .And they killed all the human and foreign colonists to have total control of their territory in Black Marsh. All this without fighting and without being discovered. They were merely suspected at best.

The Treaty with the Thalmor is just appeasement so the Empire can rebuild itself, nobody in the upper echlons of the Imperial govenment are under the delusion that peace will last. Tullius doesn't even think it will last more than a few more years before they're all at war with the Thalmor again. Without Skyrim to draw troops and resources from Cyrodil would likely fall against a Thalmor onslaught, especially if the new regime in Skyrim is hostile to the Empire.

This is why I'm siding with the Empire. Civil war will mean the death of at least half of all able bodied men Skyrim, siding with the Imperials provides more resistence to a Thalmor assult than a weakened Emprie and the fledging independent Skyrim could. I think they're asking for trouble if they don't stick together.

This is the beginning of the height of the fourth era. The beginning of Emancipation (Brought by Helseth) and a mighty Argonian-Dunmer Alliance assisted by the Kingdoms of Men. We shall rise and restore balance!

We will help stage a coup in Alinor (Then rename it Summerset Isle) then leave the Altmer  to deal with their Thalmor government leaders. I will love to see Thalmor leaders executed publicly. I wonder how the Almter do it.

i'm getting to a point in the game where i feel i've screwed up a bit because i keep getting owned by your average dungeon enemy. it feels lika it was a stupid idea to make my character a spellsword.
i use the fireball spell and the skyforge steel war axe now at lvl 12, my armor is steel (no enchantments) and i havent really made anything yet (potions, food, weapons, armor). should i try making better armor and weapons? should i keep going as a spellsword or use either melee or spells?

Lvl 12 is about where I started getting owned. It feels like that is the point where if you haven't been enchanting your own armor in particular things start to go south.

The overall lack of useful armor means that functionally enchanting isn't an optional skill but necessary. The quality of armor I could looting or by purcahse get hasn't improved notably from lvl 12 -20.

The Imperials didn't and don't opress the Nords, they were even supported, and they are still supported by many loyalists.  That's when they have forbidden the cult of Talos, that Ulfric began the war, disgusted.

Well what do you call that?  As even Bargulf (who is pro-Imperial) says, no one asked Skyrim what they thought before ordering them to follow the White-Gold Concordat.

The stormcloak also appear as racists and nationalists as Talmors. Not the Empire, who is far more tolerant.

Ulfric and some of them have prejudice and mistrust against other races, but that's not all of them.  That's also why I think Ulfric needs a right hand who is more politically adept.  He's one of those who's a good general and not a good ruler.

I'm beginning to get annoyed with the merchants and their chronic lack of cash. I go out dungeon dive and fill up myself and Lydia up with loot and come back. I have to hit at least 2 cities to empty out my wares because between different shops purchases and their limited cash they can't buy what I'm selling. Realism, maybe, but fast travelling around just to sell trash loot doesn't rate high on the fun factor.

I just wanted to share my way of playing Skyrim, after much wanderlust and directionless questing, I decided I wanted to focus on one thing, words of power.

I have been hunting down every word of power, to the point of the Greybeards running out of locations to give me, so I went out and found more words on my own.

I highly recommend this sequence of play. It takes you to every corner of Skyrim, and I find it very gratifying to have so many words.

I also really enjoying hunting the dragon priests :D

You can "stick together" as equals.  I see the civil war as reminding the Imperials of their place.  They can treat with Skyrim as an independent nation- they don't need it under their boot.

You are going to get deaths anyway, no matter who you side with.

Ulfric would have some major hesitation before allowing unity with the "imperial bastards" he fought against. During that time, the Thalmor come and conquer.
Skyrim needs the Empire as much as the Empire needs Skyrim. I don't think "Reminding the Imperials of their place" would be worth it over having an Alliance that will possibly defeat the Dominion.
"What the rebels like to forget is that the Empire is the only thing keeping the Dominion out of Skyrim.
