Holy crap, I realized last night that I've logged over 100 hours into Skyrim, and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

I have this annoying completionist tendency, so I have to stop at every single location I see on the map. I accept quests, forget who or what they're for, and spend a lot of time running around, trying to figure it out (and adding more quests), and have a lot of "squirrel!" moments.

I still haven't picked a side, but I'm leaning against the Stormcloaks - the conversation with Elisif about her dead husband pushed me in the other direction. Ulfric shouted him to death? Huh.

I just finally went up to see the Greybeards a day or two ago, and whoever said they increase all of your shouts...is a big meanie, because it's not true.

I still haven't switched companions. I keep saying I'm going to, but Lydia is still with me. I can't help myself, I just love her. I love her voice, I love how she looks, I love it that she can't climb up a set of steps without turning tail and trying to find a different, "more direct" route to something that's 5 feet away...she's just awesome.

What is my point? I don't have one. I've just realized that Skyrim has turned into an addiction for me. Is there an 800 number for this?

I hear ya! Over 130 hours and my list of Accepted/Unfinished Major and Miscellaneous Quest only grows more and more! And I'm doing nonstop questing now! But for every one I complete, I gain another 3 or 4! hehe

And Kodlak's Journal...*weeps* ... long it's been since someone's diary had touched me so. Hail Companions!

This fraking game is fraking amazing! I haven't been this imersed into a game for so long I can't remember. Beats any other game I've played. There are books which are the same from previous games but some are truly worthy taking the time to read. And some quests, while they can be done without reading related Journals, with the reading they become so important to me that it's hard to explain. I really didn't expect that Bethesda would have improved this much. It has so much content, and first class content, that it is going to be hard for anyone else to match something like Skyrim.

I'm with many who think crafting is non-essential, but I think it's a terrible mistake to forego it. Why? Because I personally think you're missing out on an especially gratifying part of the game. I didn't craft a damn thing but an iron dagger for about 12-13 levels. I concentrated on exploring and looting. After I'd gone out and learned the lay of the land, I had an impulse to learn the system, and now I can't stop. Is there a Smithing twelve step program anywhere in Skrim?

Believe it or not, my grim, hard ass Nord actually likes to make jewelry. Just another perk of the game's depth to me. ONE, it's a great way to use (what I considered to be) scrap loot, and TWO: I've made a $#!+load of money doing it. And THREE: I suppose now, I need to learn how to enchant these trinkets, save the best for Mjoll and me, and sell the rest to line my greedy little pockets.

The only thing that's a bit of pain to me is Alchemy, but I'm quickly learning it's value, and now have collected a barrel full of ingredients I have yet to experiment with.

To each their own regarding crafting I suppose. But, the market's saturated with games that have no depth in, or even the mechanic of, crafting. It's the one thing that keeps bringing me back to Bethesda...well that, and huge, detailed environments.

Kodlak's Journal was really touching. I loved how personal it felt - he was talking about my character, and how much potential he saw. Aww. They really know how to push the right buttons with the writing in this game. It's brilliant.

Oh, Smithing is definitely addictive. Like it is in Piranha Byte's Risen. Of course it was way more limited in Risen but the Jewelry was pretty much the same. Only now I finally got a few Flawless Diamonds for the Necklace I want to craft and finding them in loot is definitely not the same.

Even with my skill at 100 I can't stop looking for mines to prospect and then crafting all I can. I wanted to setup a Shop and start a chain and supply all Holds with my stuff. And pretty soon I'll be enchanting at level 100. I doubt anyone in the lands can match that!

I found a second Orc village today with a massive ebony mine.

Sadly, an Elder Dragon dropped in for a visit and killed everyone, including the blacksmith and alchemist.

That "chew 'em up and and spit 'em out" attack is deadly, seems to kill everyone in one shot.

It's such a huge game, it's going to suck up so much of my free time, and I don't have a lot of it to begin with, plus just got turned into a werewolf, mwahahaha

I just finished that quest line, and am considering going back to human. I'm assuming I still have the option? Anyway...my husband gives me flack for it, but I just don't ever change to a werewolf, so to me (for me), there's no point in being one.

I don't use Beast form all that much either, but I plan on keeping it for the immunity to disease. The only downside is the lack of resting bonus which isn't all that valuable to begin with.

Well so many people just creating/upgrading iron daggers for both blacksmithing and enchanting.
You can buy the materiels from any smithy, Its cheap to build and after some upgrading/enchanting you can cover you expenses.
For me im such a power-gaming hater. I just cant accept making 250 ıron daggers and call myself a good smithy.

After ill finish with my thief cat gonna start a Dark Elven spell-sword who will be an excellent crafter, going to craft myself full dwarven set and roll like for some time  just becuse If you find a Lexicon in your travels and put it where it belongs you get a dwaren perk.
Gives you %25 more armor rating if you are wearing full dwarven set, and give %10-20(cant remember :() smithing bonus.

Hail the Dwarvendumner!

You know, my character never sleeps anyway, so perhaps you're right. Maybe I'll just keep the wolfie blood. Thanks!

Wow, god I wish I was as smart as you are and sooooooo superior too. STFU, it's a game. You aren't special because you play it.

Furthermore, while there are a bajillion ways to play playing as a character that doesn't do a #$%^ of crafting isn't one of them. I don't want to sneak, not a stealth guy.  I've done alchemy and used plenty of potions. Sadly clicking on flowers ins't a metric ton of fun but I get enough but never 30 at a time. I'm not even going to ask how many foozle plants you clock on per day. Shouts are, well, not as insanely useful as you say. I've got unrelenting force at level 2 and it does less than one would hope - it is like giving foes a nice rough shove. Terrain is a nice theory in the handful of places you can use it but 95% of fights won't use it.

The problem is that while in DA* I could use any build and succeed there are failing builds in Skyrim - a robed, magic using mage for example is lunch meat. Nothing like offering freedom but punishing the wrong sort of freedom. The crafting stuff is required because raw looting and buying aren't going to get you what you need to move up in levels and survive. That sucks and it is why I never want to see this stuff in the DA* games. Hell, FO3 or FNV didn't require the use of crafting skills at all to finish. There they were a help not a necessity - but I guess FO and DAO were both one dimensional games too.

So let me see if I understand your bizzare rant, here.

You're complaining because the game is too hard.   But after getting advice, you respond with:

1)I don't want to sneak.
2) I don't want to craft
3)I don't want to enchant
4) I don't want to knock people off cliffs, or down stairs, or into trapped corridors, or even into runes that I create.
5) I don't want to fully explore alchemy and  its nigh-endless medicinal, offensive, defensive and financial advantages.
6) My level 2 unrelenting force shout isn't impressive, and therefore, Shouts in general suck.

7)I should be able to get all the game's god-level gear  handed to me by just  looting the wolves and bandits I kill.  No no wait,  looting is boring.  Can't  the game just start me off with 1 million gold and  have merchants carry every powerful artifact  so I can   just go shopping, instead of having to earn everything  (yawn)??

Yeah,   I'll say it again.  This game is not for you.

In fact i agree with this guy if this game is too much hard to you or if this game have too much things you can do...

What do reccomend I do straight away? Any ways to get money to buy good stuff?

There are lots of ways to earn gold in this game.  Besides the usual looting and quests, crafting yields some gold.  Like with alchemy, your early potions aren't very potent so I usually depend on looting potions and sell my weaksauce ones for coin.  In this game you can also chop wood or pick vegetables and sell them, though this will take you a while to build up anything.

My Stormcloak lives in Windhelm, so he can be Ulfric's Thane.

The Imperials didn't and don't opress the Nords, they were even supported, and they are still supported by many loyalists.  That's when they have forbidden the cult of Talos, that Ulfric began the war, disgusted.

1- Well what do you call that?  As even Bargulf (who is pro-Imperial) says, no one asked Skyrim what they thought before ordering them to follow the White-Gold Concordat.

How is it opression toward Nords, since all people in the Empire had to obey the rule ? Do you think other people and Imperials are happy ? No as well. Nords aren't the only ones disappointed. Then the Empire, reigns as an Empire.  He is losing the war, peace becomes almost a desperate hope for survival. It had no time to consult everyone in all its provinces. I wouldn't call that opression. I do not understand why the Nords feel special compared to that.

That said, yes abandoning the cult of Talos is a betrayal, so I'll be on it for a rebellion against the Empire which based its foundation on it, and may no longer be recognized as their leaders. Faith is not a political clause and is not negotiable. Or you believe in your god, or you do not.

I'm kinda digging the one in Riften, although I'm leery of leaving anything of value there.

I don't know why people are objecting so much to Ulfric using shouts in the duel. What do those draugr do in a fight? Obviously there have always been different schools of thought on how to use them.

Believing in Talos/Lorkhan is not illegal, worshipping him is.

I suggest completing the first greybeards quest in order to learn the final word of Unrelenting Force.

Even as a very low level character, you can use it to send enemies flying off of bridges, mountains, etc., to their death.

Mhh, that's right, thanks.

Which changes a bit what  I think. It is not forbidden to practice in secret, and it does not mean that the Empire plan to abandon Talos in long term. It may be a respite, while it tries to rebuid itself.

Shouts aren't meant to be your whole combat repertoire, they're one skill in your arsenal, like your race power. They can definitely give you an edge in a tough fight.

I wasn't sure what I thought of the idea when they were marketing the game, but now that I've seen it implemented, I love the idea of a combat skill based on a language.

Storm Call is tremendously powerful. Even the first word alone is enough to kill/maim multiple enemies and is very helpful for taking down dragons.

However, you need to tell your follower to wait somewhere far away- unfortunately, Storm Call will kill them.

Esbern Glitch annoyed me a lot. Fortunately I found out to go outside that area twice and return, then the door opened. Still There was no voice acting I didn't find a clue what he was talking about!
