Aw man.... poor Lydia just died defending me against Morokei.

Rest in peace, my brave housecarl.

Edit: Any recommendations regarding a new companion? I heard that Uthgerd the Unbroken is supposed to be a pretty awesome tank.

Does anyone know what the deal with the headless horseman is? I followed him from Whiterun to a graveyard but he just disapeared. Is that it?

I also followed a Nord ghost from from a dwemer ruin to his burial mount that was being sacked by bandits. He then disapeared with no further words.

You're not going to rescue her? Poor Lydia, that makes me really sad. I always reload to bring her back. She's like a part of me now.

Oh, how sad that sounded. Image IPB

Here's a weird bug: If your spouse is a follower and a merchant and you change something from her inventory then all her merchandise can be lost and her money will be reset to 0. After that her stuff will not reset after a week or so. This does not always happen and I am not exactly sure what triggers it. I got the situation back to normal by exiting the game completely and reload the last game. Although it does not work with some saves.

This bug was very confusing and I almost gave up on Aela. Glad that she is her old self again. ;)

I'm getting too close to Lydia. It's becoming troubling. I need to send her home, so I don't have to worry about her. But if I get a new companion, I'll start to care about them, too. It's never-ending!

Sovngarde is a good place for her, I guess. At least she won't have to carry your burdens anymore.

What happens if you marry Lydia? Are there any bugs associated with her?

I like a mercenary, as a companion. It's great for my RP. She's not really a mercenary that said, rather someone looking for a place in a brutal world.

I felt bad when I took all those dragon bones and scales from her corpse :crying:

Aww, that would be upsetting. I would feel awful looting her corpse at all, even though it would be my stuff. Oh geez, I can't. I can't think about it. It's too painful.

I need help. Image IPB

Lydia died on me as well, thing is: she died on a bridge from multiple arrows stuck in her gut, and she fell of the bridge ':l so i killed the bandits myself, only to find out that her body had been taken down river down a waterfall :( never found her, or my dragon bones and scales, back

Why is everyone saying that crafting is vital?

I'm playing a pure mage, no alchemy, smithing or enchanting and I can steamroll 90% of the enemies that the game throws at me.
Then again, I'm level 19 so maybe it'll get harder later on.

Whoa... that was a hell of diving I did. Found 3 sunk ships and one chest with little gold... *sighs*

But that's good. I doubt any Altmer can bare naked dive in freezing waters like a Nord did. And you think they would be us at our home? Nah...

I don't know why people are objecting so much to Ulfric using shouts in the duel. What do those draugr do in a fight? Obviously there have always been different schools of thought on how to use them.

After the Battle of Red Mountain, the Greybeards were formed and there was only one school. The draugr date back to the time when dragons ruled Skyrim.

I fought my first real Draugr Deathlords last night. I'd already fought the spectral ones in a previous quest; these guys were the real deal. They are way creepy looking!

Wait what now? I read about that in the guide figured it was BS. But apperantly you can find his helmet around there.

They weren't so bad, but I'm level 30. I attribute our lack of dying to good spells and enchantments. If I hadn't cast Heal Other on Lydia, she'd have probably met the same end yours did.

Okay, I'm done with enchanting and crafting for a long time lol. I think I'm going to roll with this armor for the rest of the game. What do you guys think. Are there better enchantments I should have gone with.

Those look pretty good! You can use enchanted necklaces and rings for elemental resistance, so you are probably good to go.

Essentially, you'll be forced to fight enemies which scale better than you (as a mage) and you'll need to craft and enchant a lot to make sure you're not overwhelmed and killed in one hit of anything. My first character was a mage on Master difficulty and it was fine until level 30~, which I realized other casters had become behemoths and I wasn't even tickling them anymore.

Even in the end with crafted armor and -100% destruction magicka cost, it was still brutal and I had to abuse the hell out of hit and run tactics.

Another interesting thing that many people have already discovered:  You mentioned Aela.  You get free training with her if she's your companion.  Just ask her to train you in Archery, pay for it all, then just go into her inventory and take all your gold back.  You can do that with any companion that offers training.
