Do we know which ones get with other females? I mean, if no one's tried Lydia as a female character... maybe.

You mean marriage?
Lydia is currently bugged, and can be married only by using the console.

And everyone is bisexual by the way.

What is the best Elder Scrolls-apedia out there on the web?

And will console commands disable achievements?

Yeah I had my character marry a female.  The whole idea of an able bodied Male warrior opening up a shop, and staying at home cooking while his wife goes out to battle and war just didn't fit for me lol.

Console commands do not disable achievements. I typed in CAQS: Complete All Quest Strings and I got all the achievements tied to quests. There's about 20 of them that are not a part of any quests.

Thanks for the marriage info. Time to make a trip to Dawnstar.

I hear alot of talk about Lydia as a companion. Anyone else, carrying along Mjoll the Lioness as a companion?

She's become my favorite. She may go down every so often in a fight, but I have yet to see her die. Her ambient dialogue is way better than Lydia's. She always has a one or two sentence story to offer. Talks about her mother training her with a sword and how she misses her father. She even offers custom dialogue. Just today, when we entered some dungeon, she said: "There could be Dragr about, I can smell the decay in the air." Sure enough, soon thereafter we got swarmed.

But, I have to say my favortie line of all from her (especially comparing her to Lydia) is: "No problem, I can carry a good bit of gear."

Anyway, I'm a Mjoll fan, and she and my PC will be wed soon. I intend to keep her as a companion while Lydia sits in our bedroom stuffing her face.

Yeah since companions have some sort of wierd problem where stats don't level, I had to finally retire lydia. She is now free to my breezehome and to treat it as her own.

Mjoll on the other hand has stats that vary from 90 to 50 with no( warrior) skills below that. I believe she even had 90 twohanded but I would have to check again.

(for those who want to know your companions stats, open the console, click on them, and type the command "getav *chosenskill*" without stars of course. For example, (getav heavyarmor).

In any case I like mjoll, she has a sexy accent, she is strong but not overbearing, and is currently with me hunting necromancers. (There can only be one major necromancer here!, since I myself am a necromancer.) However I agree that she talks too much, which wouldn't be too bad but she repeats the same story multiple times. The only saving grace is when you are in dungeons and she warns you of danger.

And I have to thank my best friend for figuring out how to change clothes on non follower spouses. My wife was walking around in a dirty mining outfit and a pickaxe.

LMAO, that sounds kinda corny... and bad at the same time. Seems like I'll be avoiding male marriage too on my next female playthrough.

There are two
http://elderscrolls....er_Scrolls_Wiki
http://www.uesp.net/

I prefer the second one, which seems to be older and has MUCH more lore info in it.

And console commands shouldn't disable achievements, at least they didn't in my case when using the showracemenu repeatedly.

Yay for the achievements.
And UESP seems to disconnect a lot for me. the Elderscrolls wiki has moe Info on Skyrim but more is yet to come.

At least you can marry able-bodied warriors, mages, and rogues. Play Fable 2 where there is no "special" NPC...

I had no idea how long it took for vampirism.

I just found out: it takes a Month in-game time for ore veins to replenish, not one week. So not worth it when you only have the location of one or two mines.

I found one for Iron and one for Ebony. The ebony one is in a town north east of Riften.

Isn't Blackreach a bit unrealistically expansive? It feels big, but it can't be that big that you can exit on the other end of Skyrim from where you entered.

Agreed. ^_^

Anyways marriage was just for fun, and especially for RP. My future wife still will be able to fight with me, the most important, after the rest is rp. She is not cooking in my head, and do not always sit at home while I kill the bad guys outside. The meal ? Do it alone bro'.

Otherwise I decided, finally, to choose Uthgerd the Unbroken, badass.

And fable.... I won't waste my breathe. :P

I just got into the thieves guild, does it take long to finish its quest line? Also, anyone know about a companion that teaches speachcraft?

Head to solitude. The bards college has people who train speech.

I just wish they had made spouses a little bit deeper. Guards react to changes in your story why not spouses. When you come home, they should ask you about stuff, did you hear what happened while you were gone.

I suppose one could assume there are a series of tunnels leading into and out of the city itself - and Bethesda was just generous enough not to force us to traverse them. :P

I found this link on Youtube, it has a few mine locations marked on the map. I used this page on the Elder Scrolls wiki and found a few others. I can mine about 60 iron ingots at a time once a month on Skryim time.

BTW, wearing the smithing gauntlets allows you extend your weapon damage at the forge.  I was able to eek out about 20% more damage on my legendary weapons.  I'm told drinking an elixir of smithing will stack even on top of that, though I have yet to try it.  Another trip to the forge I suppose.  Speed AND damage.  There is no substitute.

I used smithing gauntlets 20%, ring 15%, necklace 15%, and Blacksmith Elixer 50%, and it all stacked.

Then get the enchantment elixer and use the one hand weapon damage enchantment.  You can out it on two pieces of armor and jewelry.

Now I just need to find the ring and necklace. Thanks.

You're Enchanter too? Forge your own jewelry and enchant them to some +30% Smithing!!! Much better than finding! =)

Right!  I keep forgetting about so many things in this game.  Guess I just destroy the gauntlets and bebuild?

Yep, disenchant something with +% Smithing and there you go! I could make 3 smithing items @ +25% each. Bracers, Amulet and Ring, with extra +37 Carry pts each too!

Finally reached 100 Enchanting...  My Greatsword does now 376 damage considered with 3 items +40% Two-handed! Plus the Fire Enchantment! Woot! Time for traveling the world again! =)

Has anyone ever encountered a dragon that doesn't attack you? I was traveling through the Reach with Lydia a while ago, and a dragon showed up and hovered above us in the sky for a good 5-10 minutes without ever making a move towards me or the other NPCs in the area. It was... bizarre.

I just started using Mjoll and she's pretty awesome....at first. I mean, I like her and her little stories and all, but my god, she does not shut up! And so she says the same thing over and over and over and over again. Its maybe even more annoying than Lydia since she says them so much more frequently.

Its cool the first time but it gets old. And then Mjoll has her male lacky that follows her around in Riften. I think he might have to "disappear" before I had my PC marry her cause he apparently sticks around even after you marry her.

I've had Lydia say the unique context sensitive dialogue too- I think all companions can say stuff like that.

I want to see what other companions there are for marriage though too- maybe some of the other housecarls.

You know, you're right, but I like her accent so much, I don't care.  She can keep saying the same thing over and over as far as I'm concerned.  I'm...er...I mean my PC, of course...is smitten.Image IPB

Never married lady gray, or alex then? Those two are special npc's.
