I have absolutely no idea how to complete the Forsworn quest. Anyone have any tips? Should I set Madanach free or let the Silver-Bloods keep the city? Seems like I'm forced to choose between a whole family of corrupt moneygrubbing ****s and a group of xenophobic terrorists. Am I missing something?

No, that's the short of it. In my opinion, freeing Madanach solves nothing and only adds to the instability of Skyrim, so I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that.

Be back, kill him later.

Lulz But really is there some other way out of the prison?

I'm not worried about Umbra, in my universe that sword was handed over in the quest, I made a deal and had a far better sword by the time I done the quest anyways.

Kill Madanach in prison and take his key - then escape as you would have otherwise.

Maybe some kind soul can help me out here. I'm having difficulty competing Promises to Keep. I need to "steal" a horse named Frost and deliver it to an NPC but I can't for the life of me find the damned horse. Any help?

This might have been answered on subsequent pages, but check out behind the town toward the edge of the map....

What race did everyone decide to play with?

I really couldn't make up my mind. First I was a Two Handed weapon wielding, Heavy Armor using Nord, but then I decided I wanted to try out the Destruction school of Magic to compliment my warrior and restarted as an Imperial. Then on that playthrough I started using my bow and arrow more than either my sword and shield or destruction magic. So I restarted again as an archer.

I should have chosen a Wood Elf to build this character, but I got too attached to my Imperial during my other playthrough and decided to turn the class on it's head. He's skilled in archery, sneak, alchemy, enchanting and light armor. I wanted to go the Heavy Armor side of the Smithing tree to make the Daedric bow as it's the best bow in the game, and I wanted to go the mercantile route of the Speech skill tree for the monetary gain and for RP purposes, but I dodn't want to spread myself to thin.

Yeah, you can just stab him in the face when you first meet him and take the key and his plans to get out off his body.

Has anyone managed to obtain heart scales from a dragon corpse? I slash at the corpse with Kahvozein's fang for 10 minutes and no heart scale appears.

Say what?

It's instantanious.  On PC you press E and suddenly you're off the horse and standing there next to it.  It's so fast that there isn't any animation at all.

Is that what this thing is for? I found that item somewhere when I was at a very low level and I've never been able to remove it from my inventory as it is some sort of "quest item."

It is supposed to provide some sort of different loot if you slice a dead dragon with it?

It's for the quest to gain access to Master alteration spells.

The Oghma Infinium increases 6 skills by 5 points, yet I get only one perk point. That doesn't seem right. So, I'll keep it on the bookshelf for now. ;)

Have either of you encountered the book The Bear of Markarth? That certainly made me feel much less inclined to side with Ulfric.

Not an agent - the Thalmor do consider him and his rebellion an unknowing asset to their overall plans to weaken and destroy the Empire, though. Whether Ulfric's rise to power will actually aid the Aldmeri Dominion or not remains to be seen.

Through manipulation though, he's a tool the Thalmor are using. You can pickpocket some of the Stormcloaks and find documents which show they're actually plants.

Imperial propaganda. Spend some time in Markarth itself to get a clearer picture of what actually happened there.

Tsk tsk... two more female NPCs I'm interested in who aren't candidates for marriage. No Ingun Black-Briar or Sapphire for me. :(

Well ****.

The first time, I actually finished the quest by releasing him, only to side with the guards and attack the Forsworn when we got out. The game didn't seem to register my betrayal and Madanach's death, however, so I reloaded to find some kind of alternate path. I couldn't find one, so eventually I just stabbed him in the face in frustration.

..And then it turned out he wasn't essential and I could just be on my way using his key Image IPB.

Ok so I just entered markarth for the first time and the whole forsworn quest began, problem is I can't go inside the general trader now, it seems to be permanently locked. I lock-picked it but I get in trouble for trespassing. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

The only person I've seen mention what happened so far is Igmund and that was just a couple of lines, nothing which painted Ulfric in a better light. Who gives this clearer picture then?

Where is this Markarth book about Ulfric? I still haven't made up my mind about him, so reading as many things/talking to NPCs as possible would be useful. It doesn't help that I somehow managed to miss the execution when you first visit Solitude, so I don't know much about what happened between Uflric and the High-King. I've noticed that even members of his own Court will talk about how he doesn't seem to care about anyone who isn't a Nord though, and I feel kind of uncomfortable helping his Stormcloaks, seeing as my character isn't a Nord.

Wow, I didn't even realise you could help Madanach. I just ran in and blasted him with spells/Shouts, and then took his key. I don't think I would bother helping him though, even now I know. Those Forsworn are loons.
