Anyone else think Sheogorath and Sanguine should rule the world together?

The only person I've seen mention what happened so far is Igmund and that was just a couple of lines, nothing which painted Ulfric in a better light. Who gives this clearer picture then?

I'm not here to hold your hand through your journeys in Markarth and the Reach to help you figure it out.

You can talk to Thongvor Silver-Blood and Banning out next to the stables, for one. You can also, you know, do your own research and learn a little about the Forsworn instead of relying on me or some NPC to give you lessons on the subject.

I don't think that will end well.

Ok so I just entered markarth for the first time and the whole forsworn quest began, problem is I can't go inside the general trader now, it seems to be permanently locked. I lock-picked it but I get in trouble for trespassing. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

Are you talking about Arnleift and Sons Trading Company shop ? Is the shopkeeper Lisbet alive ? Maybe she got kiled by some accident.

Anyway - try using this console command and look where it will take you (this should teleport you to her current location)

Actually, I think it would end well.

As in, the world would end, but we'd have a damn good time while it did. Image IPB

Yeah it's Arnleift and Sons Trading Company, Lisbet is alive as well.

I don't think I can do console commands on Xbox though : /

Edit: Oh, nevermind it seems to have opened up now. The power of turning off your xbox then turning it back on astounds me.

Speak with Madanach and he'll eventually give you a shiv to use on Grisvar the Unlucky. Then just shiv him instead, take his key, and GTFO of there while no one is the wiser.

Or you could just slam a pickaxe in his face - that works just as well.

Are there any reasons for joining Ulfric?

1) He has no honour (using Thu'um to either instakill or knock down the High King to get an easy kill)
2) Extrapolating from 1), he has no fighting skill
3) He has no charisma, judging from the speech against his henchmen
4) He is a Thalmor puppet, plus lacks the intelligence to realize he's a puppet
5) He is xenophobic and isolationist and lacks any strategic skill

I'm a Thalmor Assassin who's helping the Stormcloaks.

Does that work? :D

I was playing a Mage at the time, so I could just fireball his face off.

6) He's a Jarl but he looks like a filthy hippy.  :P
7) Windhelm < Solitude
8) He is a traitor to the Imperial Legion (he was in the Legion when fighting the Thalmor).
9) General Tullius could beat him in a fight.
10) He lacks the military force to stop a Thalmor invasion.

1) How does that work? He's simply using what he has. And anyway if it did work like that then my Dragonborn has no honour and so they'll go together fine.
2) Where are you getting this from? By the same logic my Warrior has no fighting skill, making shouting at people his only defence.
3) Well i thought he had charisma, especially during his later speeches during the seiges
4) How? If an independant Hammerfall can take on the Thalmor and win then so can an independant Skyrim.
5)  Seeing as the amount of stuff the elves have put him through I can forgive him for not being their best friend. And he doesn't seem to have done much against the elves in his own city. The Grey Quarter isn't that much worse than the rest of Windhelm, plus there is an elf with a stand and another elf owns the Alchemists, neither one comnplains about any bad treatment. And where the hell did you get him lacking any strategic skill from?

J'zargo the khajit ... the best follower!
I helped him with the scrolls and called him to follow me. I've already sent 3 followers to Blades Camp at Sky Temple.

Oh... oh. :(

Thalmor SCUM! I will purge you from this once beautiful land! For Skyrim and for the Empire!
I wonder if there are any pro-Thalmor quests. They seem to be the only clear-cut bad guys... besides the bandits, of course.

In my view this has a lot more to do with your character's background and outlook. For example, if you are playing a Talos worshipping Nord who is bitter about the White Gold Concordat, it would not make much sense to join the Legion IMO.

On the other hand, if you were playing a Dunmer refugee then it would seem much more logical to join the Legion and support Brunwulf Free-Winter to become the Jarl of Windhelm. He stands up for the rights of Dunmer and other races who have immigrated to Skyrim.

In my opinion, the only person who would NOT join the Legion (I'm a bit biased) would be one whose judgement clouded by racial "Patriotism" and pride (In this case, A Nord). My character, an Argonian Battlemage who is a complete outsider, wants the best for the people of Skyrim, whether they be Nordic or immigrant.
Thinking with logic, he sees that the best thing for Skyrim is to rid it of Thalmor influence. Joining the Stormcloaks isn't the best option considering that they are pawns in the Thalmor's schemes and they don't even know it yet.
The Legion, while appear to be licking the boots of the Thalmor, are plotting to gain a foothold, regain strength and allies, and drive the Thalmor from Skyrim and eventually mainland Tamriel.
Just my input on this.

Yes, however, there are any number of reasons why my character might have a grudge against the Imperials or view them as the Thalmor's lackeys, even if I (as the player) have other information about what the Imperials are plotting.

Or you could even play as a Thalmor agent, seeking to foment instability and weaken the Empire.

Absolutely, and there are many other reasons why your character might have a grudge against the Imperials or view them as the Thalmor's lackeys.

My character sees the Empire as vicious hounds hateful to their masters and have a chance at redemption, unlike loyal lapdogs. He does, however, have a bit of a grudge against the Legion he once viewed as "Comrades" for allowing themselves to become somewhat violent and extreme.

A mage can still swing the shiv good enough -- my character had zero 1h weapon skills and zero magic skills but simply drained/stunned the guy with sparks spell from left hand and hacked to bits whatever health was left.

As a mage you can probably get better magical armour up than the figters, come to think of it.

(of course, for a decent mage fireballs alone are likely to work too ;s
