I found this. That's usually the cheapest it gets for a new gaming computer.

I'm Level 28 now and in the middle of doing something for the main quest. I try and pace the main quest as well as I can with my gameplay. In a pretty vast dungeon right now. Without spoilers, how long is the main quest once making your first visit to the Greybeards?

Well what sign did you pick?
If your going too use 2 perks at the same time, besides saving them, I'd say
Mage: 2 perk:Alchemy & Restoration.1 perk: Restoration.
Thief: 2 perk: Enchantment & Smithing.
Warrior: Restoration&Blocking. 1 Perk: Blocking.

Thats what I usually do on my perking, base it on my sign, and then do the perks that fit that sign. And then fill up everything else later.

But its all up too you!

I have no idea of what you said! =}

My Stone is the Lover. 15% faster increase on all skills. But I already have all my major skills at 100. Didn't fill a full Perk tree for any because it is not necessary. But I chose one of the ramifications that suits my char the best.

For instance, Smithing. I didn't go Light Armor past Elven (I got Elven early because it is the best Greatsword before Ebony). I went Heavy Armor ramification and only up to Ebony because that's what I use. (I actually made a test and my Ebony Greatsword, honed with my 3 +25% Smithing items and Blacksmith Elixir does 376 dmg. A Daedric Greatsword honed only with my 3 +smith items and no Elixir does only 320 dmg)

Enchanting, I got the Extra Fire damage only. No Frost or Shock. No need. Fire burns! And 5/5 enchanting power up to Dual Enchanting. (with +25% fortify skill and +25% Health/Mag/Stamina enchantments in the middle). I got the extra recharge from soul gems but not the Recharging Blow perk, no need for that since I have plenty filled soul gems.

Actually, it is better if you see my char build here

http://skyrimcalculator.com/#7659

I only have 1/5 on Haggling, first Speech perk and then the full tree up to +1000 gold to each store, but with my +% better price items I already get prices high enough, when selling, to deplete the stores from any gold, even those I've invested in.

As you can see in the calculator, I had my build completed at level 49. Since then, I haven't spent a Perk on anything and now I have 6 points to spend.

PS: I tryed 2 pts in Alchemy and 4 in Restoration on the calculator and it seems good. I might try that! =)

I actually haven't done any of the main quest past High Hrothgar - too busy doing work for the Stormcloaks, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood right now.

Anyway, I just made Daedric armor after farming hearts from alchemy shops - and it's made my life a lot easier. I can take and dish out a lot more damage now, which helps a lot since I stopped taking followers with me.

It also looks quite good IMHO - much better than it did in Oblivion (but still not as good as Morrowind's). I'll save the perk I was going to spend on Dragon Smithing for something more useful.

Also, I'm probably going to marry Sylgja - she caught my eye when I went to Redbelly Mine earlier to mine up some more ebony ore.

He stops following me in a paved road and runs away because a slaughterfish is in the river by the road????? F**** it! It's fast travel cuz game won't let me do it otherwise!

I'm sure it can be easily done within 5 hours first time through.  My younger brother finished the story in about that much time.

Any PC hardware as ancient as a 6 year old Xbox will run Skyrim.  For a game of its beauty  and magnitude, system specs for Skyrim are remarkably low

Edit:  Wait a minute.  under your avatar it shows that  You own mass effect 2 and  Dragon Age Origins on PC.  Just use the computer you're using for those games.  Skyrim will run fine on it.

Haha I'm sorry, I think I did a bad explaining on the "sign".
Which stone/sign/simble/rock/bolder did you pick when you first started the game? When your running for your life from Helgen?
For instant, I went with Mage ( 1st play through, 2nd play through Warrior).
Off Topic for a momnet: My friend said I ruined Skyrim on my first playthrough, I made a Dark Elf, and had her a mage. Hah!:wizard:
Back On-Topic: Well dang, I feel jealous of you now! I'm level 19 and I haven't gotten even close too that! I'm playing on my Warrior playthrough and all my perks have gone to Block, 1 handed, and 2 handed and some speechcraft..I can't persuade very good.

To me, it seems your all good, like I said, depending on what stone/bolder/blahblah you picked, I suggest you level in those, since you learn them faster than any other skill, assuming you already know :D.

Enchanting never hurts though, even when it does seem useless at moments. I try too keep up on my Enchantment even though I'm a warrior, and all my weapons do very good fire/schock/absorb damage because of it. But , soul gems are hard to come acrost, and I don't see many ghosts.. well I don't think I've found any besides the Ice Wraiths..if you even consider them a ghost . And I sure aient going to go sacrifice my life fighting elder dragons too see if they got soul gems. But hey, whatever floats your boat :D.
I technically leave my Alchmey alone, since my husband makes me potions so its like BOOYAAA!
But like I said, I think your farely good. And its always good to have them stamina potions with you and health. I know fighting some dwemer things suprisingly take my health down a ton within about 3 smacks.:bandit:

I seem to  have been  taking the same build route as you, however, I'm at level 43 right now and I'm still 3 perks away from the 2-enchantment skill on the enchantment tree.  My Enchanting is only at about 65.    Just how many items do you have to enchant to get to 100 in Enchanting?

Say what?

Ghosts and Dragons don't drop soul gems any more  frequently than Bandits and  wolves do  (in fact, I've never found a soul gem on a dragon, and I've killed.... dozens).  The vast majority of the Soul Gems you find will come from shelves and chests.  or from merchants if you wish to purchase them.

I don't have any trouble finding soul gems, but you could also get Azura's Star which is a refillable one.

I also am only enchanting fire damage.  It seems to be a trend.

I started the battle with Alduin and finally quit after a while... not in the mood I guess.  I really wish games would let you skip the big boss battles.  I could do without them.  This one is frustrating because I can't even get him to land, and I think I keep shouting at Paarthurnax instead of him.  How the **** am I supposed to tell which dragon in the air is the bad guy?

Incidently, for those having trouble keeping their inventory carry capacity below the max, I recently discovered something amazing.  Alchemy ingredients hog up your weight limits something fierce... despite the fact that they're so individually light.

True Story: The  other night I found myself overencumbered again and I got sick of it.  So I went to a shop and began selling off  a bunch of my  Alchemy ingredients  (some of which I had over 100 of lol)  You'd be surprized at how  *heavy* 106 Bone Meals, 99 Mudcrab Chitins, 138 White Caps, and 89 Imp Stools etc. can be, collectively.

I kept a few of everything I had and then  sold all the rest. And my carry weight went from 330 down  to 180.... just like that!

You can change the "sign" during the game.
Just go to stones and activate different stone - anytime you want.

I know exactly that feeling. Finally bought a house after 170+ hours. Wish I had done this earlier.

I got the house in Solitude and I use the various barrels, cupboards, etc., for storing different categories of miscellaneous crap I end up with alchemy ingredients, smithing items, potions, soul gems, etc.

I was carrying about 200 lbs worth of potions and alchemy stuff

Actually, a lot!  I spent a good many hours crafting Leather Bracers by the hundreds, and jewelry too. And then searching all general and magic stores in all towns I had discovered by then, purchasing all petty/lesser/common gems they could have. I enchanted sooo many Bracers with +1Carry Weight or rings with +1% alchemy that it is really funny to remember now! =)  (And spent some 40k in the process. I did some 2 major enchanting work. One to reach 80 and have 5/5 power for a new set and later another one to reach 100 and dual enchant yet a new set)

But Enchanting do raise pretty fast, faster still if you have the Mage sign activated I believe. 4 items enchanting for one skill level up. 5 items per level up from 90 to 100 (I have the Lover sign active since I went on this mad quest of reaching 100 Enchanting and all my Warriors skills were already there because I was also questing between the crafting/enchanting thing or I'd go nuts) - Disenchanting stuff and Recharging my weapons also increased my Enchanting level.

While doing the enchanting thing, I was also buying a few empty Grand and Greater gems, to stock them just in case. The enchanting skill work out also increased a lot my Speech since I had hundreds of cheap items to trade. And besides chests and shelves, dwarven spiders, spheres and mages lairs are a really great source of soul gems! =)

Thanks to this thread, I stopped collecting Dragonbone; saved all the scales instead due to Light armor pref. This may be one of the few non-heavy armored Warrior characters I have played in a FRPG in years; one of the few Stealthy builds, too.

My original plan was to be a heavy armored archer; much like many of my NWN1 characters on the World of Aenea. But due to a lack of encumberance early in the game, I chose to wear light, and then something happened to alter my long term plans.

My PC had returned to Riverwood to visit and gain some Smithy instruction from an earlier friend. And while there, another series of unplanned events occured to throw everything in a fire; literally.

While in the final stages of learning Tanning - after crafting daggers and such w/o Saving - my PC burst into flames while nearby witnesses went screaming. One might be thinking Dragon, and that would be partiallty correct; add some Flame wielding assasins too, and you have an idea of my predicament.

A Dragon does indeed choose to visit the village, but in the attack, so does a trio of hired thugs armed with magical weapons and very heavy armor. After several attempts to play in the town failed, I chose to lead all the enemies further down the path where I would face them alone.

The Dragon made several Fire breathing strafing runs at my character until the three stooges show up to visit. And I guess thinking that things were well in hand, the Dragon leaves to have fun elsewhere, leaving me to fight the remaining overwhelming odds. And after even more failed attempts to find a single vantage point, I chose to try and out-distance them. It was then I discovered something quite amazing in the game; heavy armor does not float very well.

I had crossed the nearby stream a few times in order to find new nests, and was surprised to observe some boulders moving in the water; not boulders, but helms. It seems that the assasins would be lured into the waters, and would move very slowly to remain breathing. Well, for a light armored sniper, this was like shooting iron-bound barrels in a fishing hole!

And for a bonus: my character could swim; actually swim in the deeper areas. I not only savored the eventual victory, but also some salmon steaks discovered in the event; been wearing light armor ever since!

P,S. Filled Soul gems now get stored due to encumberance; only carry empties for now.

I was wondering, does anyone know how the Thalmor feel about Orcs?
