Sigh, I've played this game for over 100 hours and have still not picked Empire or Stormcloaks.

I know I fail :(

I have no intention of doing that for quite some time.

I have no idea at this point who to choose - after all, the Empire tried to kill me for, I think, not being on their list of people to kill (how dare I show up without an invitation!!!!), and Ulfric seems like an idiot.

Besides that, I have enough quests to keep me busy at the moment, along with simply wandering around aimlessly, seeing what there is to see.

Same thing here and make it 200 hours! I don't think I'll be dealing with that quest for the next 100 hrs either!

--

I was wondering why every Argonian whom I had met were being rude to me. Then I met this Argonian on the road, claiming I owe him 10k gold and I remembered that the first time we met on the road I didn't have 10k. Now I have some 180k and I persuaded him to reduce it to 750 gp, hoping that Argonians will be more kind to me from now on. Amazing small details in such an amazing game!

Personally, I find the refusal to join the empire because of one careless officer, who refuses to consider the possibility of a misunderstanding about a prisoner rather light. The Empire /= one offficer.

the second of the officer asked to his superior if they could solve this inconvenience, do not forget it.

The superior refused, yes, but remember that we were captured close to the stormcloak's position. Her distrust may be justified.

With very little spare time, I have only gotten into 30 hours of the game. I'm loving nearly every bit of it (Aside from getting insta-owned, of course). So far, if I were to rank it, Daggerfall>Skyrim>Morrowind>Arena/Oblivion. Good RPG experience. I haven't played it enough to rank it accurately, though.

Is anyone else saving some of the questlines for the next playthrough?

I've logged 198 hours playing a Dunmer thief and I'm still only about 60-70% finished with the Thieves' Guild. I haven't started any of the other faction quests. I joined the Legion, but have yet to do the first quest upon joining.

I haven't even done the Thalmor Embassy yet.

I'm kind of feeling like perhaps I will save a lot of this for next time. Certainly I will do the College of Winterhold when I play a mage and the Companions when I play a warrior, but I might hold off on finishing the main quest and civil war quests as well. Not sure whether to do the dark brotherhood questline this time.

There is simply so much content in this game that even if I were to skip the main quest and all of the other factions, I could easily see this playthrough continuing another 50-100 hours. I'm at level 43 now and I'm starting to feel slightly overpowered on Master difficulty, so I might want to do the main quest with a lower level character.

I got married but my wife walked away and I don't know where she is. Is your spouse automatically supposed to go to one of your homes?

Who did you marry?

Silgia

That happened to me the first time as well (with a different follower). You are supposed to talk to her before she leaves. During the dialog she asks where you want to live and offers her home as an option, giving you a key. She then tells you she will meet you at "home" and you get a new quest to meet her there.

Thanks Naughty. Going to head back to the Riften area. Like you said before, I love the detail Bethesda gave to this. I was surprisingly shocked when Silgia's father from a mine nearby a close Stormcloak camp along with a companion were at the ceremony...it was a really nice touch.

All true.  But, you know, I WAS almost beheaded for basically not being on the list.  After all, captured near a stormcloak camp or not, they have no idea who I am, and never even tried to ask.  Didn't sit too well with me.

However, I admit that after my brief visit to Windhelm, I'm not too fond of Ulfric.  Never even spoke to him, just listened to him talking with his buddy.  Also didn't like the rundown atmosphere, and the whole segregation thing going on.  I know he wants independence, but isolationism annoys me.

I try and have my first playthrough as my canon playthrough, so I'll complete the main quest my first run. I am also doing the Dark Brotherhood and College of Winterhold, but I might be 40% done with DB and haven't started the College questline yet upon becoming a member. I also intend on joining the Stormcloaks but haven't joined them yet. I have a lot of side and miscellaneous quests to do and dungeons to explore, let alone the guilds I mentioned. Eighty-nine hours in and level 28. Canon playthrough will prob be around 350 hours. I might take a break before my second playthrough so I can play Kingdoms of Amalur eventually (and finish Fallout 3) but my second playthrough I will be doing the Companions, Thieves Guild and Legion.

I interpreted that as a terrible tiredness, a willingness to end quickly this civil war that lasted too long, by killing the last remaining prisoners (' With the chief Ulfric ) without verifying who is who and if that's the truth. But I understand that feeling because I felt the same lol.

I was also initially for stormcloak, I am playing a Nord and after several hours, I changed my mind. I don't regret my choice.

Plus an officer saved your life when the Dragon attacked, he could have just turned you back in, you were still bound.  Instead he helped you escape.  That was the same person that questioned the other officer right?

Well, I've had Mjoll tag along with me for the last half hour or so - I must say I'm impressed. Even with her base equipment, she's keeping up with me pretty well in the combat department.

I'm getting ready outfit her in full ebony - all of the ebony ore should've respawned in Gloombound Mine by now.

And FWIW, I spoke with Tullius and his second-in-command a while ago, and they're a lot more reasonable than I gave them credit for.

But I simply can't abide the Empire any longer. They're a shadow of their former selves, puppets of the Thalmor, and are no longer fit to rule over Skyrim - or anywhere else in Tamriel, for that matter.

The Empire belonged to the Septims - and without the Septims, the Empire is nothing. This game proves it. Time for a regime change.

Also true, but is being tired really an excuse?  I mean, they had Ulfric freaking Stormcloak sitting right there - they needed to kill me?  Plus, those Thalmor I run into on the road really annoy the hell out of me.  Arrogant damn elves.

Also true.  Of course, personally, I didn't know who I was following . . .just followed the voice that said "this way".  Turned out it was the Stormcloak guy, but was completely unintentional on my part . . . I was just looking for a knife to cut my wrists free.  Image IPB

QFT.  Yes, there are some minor advantages to horses, mainly - IMO - ability to travel when overloaded.  But really, I'm such a loot-****, I'm running around with thousands of gold constantly, so I can afford to drop some heavy, underpriced POS - iron armor is usually a good candidate.

Just a note here:  Looting 'POS'  armor and weapons has NOTHING to do with money.   It has to do with Enchanting.   For example,  Instead of wasting your time  creating bracers and daggers to enchant (when your blacksmithing skills are already at 100), you collect generic armor and weapons from bandits and the like so that you can go back to town and enchant all of it

There's also all the other Iron-fisted antics you witness from the Imperials during your travels. I can't count the number of times I've seen Imperial soldiers dragging some bound nord  prisoner around on the road.  Whenever my Orc sees such a thing he suddenly remembers HIS ordeal and immediatly frees the prisoner... and kills the imperials

I'll do as much as I can in this first playthrough. I've logged some 210 hours so far and even at level 57, almost 58, I can still find challenge enough to kill me in 2-3 hits if I let them, if I don't equip my main gear or if I forget the resistances set amulet and ring.

Just found an ancient ruin far SE where a Death Overlord could have Fus-ro-dah'd my azz from the top of a very high mountain to a deadly fall and it was damn high! I can resist the Deathlords' but not the Overlords'. Fortunately he tried to Ice Form me and I resisted.

You may try raising a set of low level skills that are not your major class, after you reach level 50 and all your major skills are at 100. It will significantly add to the challenge while still rewarding because you'll gain a few more levels  and perks to experiment with!

l'm focusing on Light Armor, One-handed, Block, Sneak, Archery, Lockpicking (98 now) and Restoration. Of those, I only spend a couple perks on Restoration to increase healing power and 5 perk points on Block to add efficiency when I'm back to my main class and greasword! =)

Nope, it isn't. But I think it's important to recall that, what was behind , to reduce the impact of this inconvenience that might affect our decision to join a camp or the other and have a better overall perspective. To relegate it to a level lower, human fallibility. In the end all those who hesitate, do not know which side to join, will have two questions to ask to themself. Which camp is best for Skyrim, its future, what's better ? Which ensures a better chance against the thalmor ?

And I agree with you about those arrogant damn elves, the same, I love to kill them as a werewolf. I feel the the best way to hurt them.

I'm a level 33 and I just logged my first dragon kill with just axe and shield (well, except for the first, but the guards brought him down), complete with killing blow cutscene. Very impressed! I've taken down nearly every dragon with a bow until now. I just needed a small amount ot XP for one-handed and blocking to level, so I used the opportunity. This game is fantastic!

After playing around with the CC and various mods I've finally arrived at the "perfect" point for my Breton Battlemage Pierelle. I'm quite happy with the way she looks in and out of combat.
