huh.. you guys think Radiant AI may carry over some stuff from one char to another? Like, I started this new char and found much better equip for a 2-handed right off the beginning. Then, at level 4, I find a horse near Helgen with a dead owner so I could take it without "stealing" it. (I rode my first horse with first char at level 19 and in his late game, from hour 150-220, I used the horse a lot, for the fun of it)

I met my first Troll with previous char when I was high level too, an Ice Troll and it was an easy kill. Now I met a common Troll at level 6, in an area I've cleared all around with first char at his begining. There was no troll there then! Now I had to run! I'm kind redoing the steps of my first char without so much noobyshness as first char had.

And now, at level 8,  I met the first bunch of Thalmor Justiciars on the road. They had no prisoner and they were hostile on sight. They even carried an Execution Order against my new char! The old one could talk to them before taunting them to attack, when they first met. Then he killed a whole bunch of them during his 220 hrs, plus their embassy  and their prison.

This new char did nothing to warrant an Execution Order! I'm glad I'm taking a pack mule, erm, elven archer from Riverrun as companion since early levels or I could never take the Justiciars! But I'm really curious. Why on Earth have they attacked me on sight or rather, what's the reason for the Execution Order? Seems I'm going to have to teach them all a lesson again! =)

(PS:  damn nice loot for a level 8. Two full sets of Elven Armor and stuff. Pitty I'm a Heavy Armor user but the mule, erm.. the elf will be content).

I don't know much about Radiant AI, but I think you may be right with this. My first character constantly attacked Thalmor and freed their prisoners, while my second character did nothing of the sort, but the second character was the one who got attacked by Thalmor with an execution order on her. She's also the one who had the Dark Brotherhood sent after her at a very early part of the game, despite the fact it was my first character who was a rampant thief.

If Mjoll the Lioness is that good, why couldn't she even beat a Dwemer Centurion.

Not sure what point you are trying to make here. All I said is that Mjoll is a very formidable tank.;)

And I reckon she got beaten by that big hulking robot by a suprise or such.
I mean, what would be your reaction if a steaming behemoth stomped on your face while you were trying to examine it?
(the sword and shield of hers were quite close to the Centurion's starting location so one can assume so)

In any case, the Centurion was dealt with enough. Wham!
Image IPB

It's puzzling that she talks so much in comparison with other companions. Maybe she's a leftover of an original plan of Bethesda to have fewer, but more developed companions like in New Vegas.

Yeah, her generic dialogue while outdoors can get old after a while.
Too bad about the possible leftover, would really *love* some New Vegas styled companions.:(

Yay, Mjoll!
I don't think her health is necessarily any higher than yours, but she never loses that last bit on her health bar, she'll just go down until she re-gens.

Pretty sure she has like 300+ health when taking her on higher levels. That's more then enough I guess.

Mjoll just doesn't die and she's completely multi-functional in combat.  She'll draw Grimsever and a shield or any two-handed weapon for those up close and personal moments, or will draw a bow or dual wield magic staffs or any combination of the above, if you're tanking.  She is completely badass, even if a bit chatty and repetitive.

Yeah I agree. She's very handy with either stuff, especially during my Dragon skirmishes where she dishes out the biggest damage with her enchanted Two hander.

Do yourself a favor and smith her
up a set of forsworn armor for your more casual activities!  All you
have to do is smith it up past her standard iron armor stats.
Niiiiice!  Don't forget the headpiece

If I am not mistaken, the Forsworn armor is the one that looks like a Nord version of Red Sonja? Nah, I think I'll pass on that one and put her into a nice silk dress for the casual stuff.:D

On my first Character, I got a contract on my head very early into the game. Is Helseth at it again?

Well, she assisted in beating a couple of Centurions.  Worst that happened was that she went down and my Nord finished them off OR she went down and my Nord died horribly.  Either way, she'll probably end up going down...but not out, in a boss fight.

EDIT:  Which is an advantage in and of itself.  Lydia would going down in a second and die soon thereafter against a Centurion, thus forcing me to reload 3 times even after defeating it (just to keep her around).  Mjoll takes a little longer to go down, and won't die on you (at least in my experience).  Boss fight's a Boss fight.

No, in the story she tells you about how she lost her sword, she got beaten by a centurion and saved by that wuss Aerin.

In my experience, Mjoll is as good as any other tank companion, as long as you level each one of them up with you with the console.

Ah, right!  In fact, the incident of which I speak regarding Lydia was with "Mjoll's Centurion."  Forgot all about the backstory.  You are correct sir!

I'm in the Thieves Guild and now I can no longer pay off my bounty. I only get a thieves guild option that says "I am in the thieves guild, is this enough to make you look away", but then the guard replies something like "it'll cost you, blablabla" and I can only reply "Too rich for my blood" even though I am swimming in cash.

Can anyone tell me if you HAVE to transform into beast form once a day, or can you choose not to? That's really my biggest hesitation with turning furry. I don't like the beast form, so when I did the quest to become one I ended up reloading.

LOL  no, you don't have to use the ability at all.  When I was ~20 I was using it a lot, but then I started acquiring better gear, and better combat perks and finally realized I was a hell of a lot more powerful in my glorious natural Orc Form, so I just unfavorited the beast form and never used it again.  No ill effects.

It does. Happened to me while I ran off to find that cave or whatever to begin the hunt. I didn't even realise I was wearing the thing until it happened.

I had it for a really long while before I went to conclude The Hunting and it never transformed me! =( But the Companions did! =))

I'll be getting my new PC after xmas and will get Skyrim for it, so I was wondering, is modding pretty complex? Or can it be easy to grasp? I want to try to get into modding, I already have a idea of one to do with Vampire clans, but a idea is useless if you cant execute it well.

LOL.. this time I'll train my Speech abilities since early levels. I'm grabbing everything that is not nailed down. Could do only the first room in some fort and all the bandits' gear there plus the stuff were enough to encumber me and the mule.. erm.. elf. Selling, selling it all for 1 gold piece at the Rebels camp nearby. No idea if the value affects the skill increase but I'll take and sell all that I can put my eyes on!

I am having a problem with fines myself. One guard will come up to me and forgive my fine and crime with a bribe. He’ll walk away and before I can do anything, another guard comes and attacks me. Guess he didn’t get the memo. Image IPB

From what I've seen it's only based on the number of transactions rather than the value, same as the smithing skill. Best way would be to sell all the items individually rather than selling something like 5 daggers all at once.

Cool. I thought about that. Selling 1 by 1 instead of bulk. hehe

And I've set timescale to 5 instead of default 20. It felt weird that a short walk like from Helgen to Riverrun should take over 3-4 hours game time. 1=RL time so 5x that seems more realistic to the game than 20x. And, of course, I did it because I want the stores open when I reach the village! haha

Yeah I leveled my speech skill by getting as many things that weighted as little as possible and selling them one by one. I have no idea how the entire world didn't hear me with all the wooden bowls and tankards I had on me.

I did this too, timescale to 5. I enjoy the hiking sim elements of just walking around the open world so it did feel that the default timescale was too quick.

Funnily enough there have been times when I was stacked with too much miscellaneous crap on me and the guards would direct me to the local general store so that I could get rid of my junk. So I guess the world does know. They can't hear you. But they know.

I was going to due this, but the respawn time is so long it's self I felt it was unneccessary.

That's an orc companion?  The male orcs are actually sexy this time!  In Oblivion the only one who got close was the half-orc in the arena.

Oh, and Sanguine Rose is the "get out of deep doo" card.  I never leave home without it.

I agree. Orcs are actually TOLERABLE:D and not butt-ugly pigmen anymore, even the women. Now, I don't have to put a bag over one's head to keep eye contact.

There's gotta be some connection. I only met the Companions with my first char at Whiterun and I only went there at level 19, after exploring a whole lot of the country. By level 59, I had been their leader for a long while. Now, at level 9 with the new char, I met Vilkas and Ria walking the wilds near Helgen? And I get the "Talk to the Companion Leader quest! =)

The Daedric Quests (and Sanguine's in particular) have been pretty spectacular so far. Bethesda really upped the ante in terms of downplaying the role of the basic fetch quest. Good on them.
