Was it ever addressed what happend to King Helseth and the other Houses of Morrowind after the Oblivion
crisis? I'd imagine House Telvanni hasn't dissolved, since Brelyna Maryon is from Morrowind and addresses that she's from House Telvanni.

Are you sure? She never told me that.

It's pretty much confirmed that House Telvanni is destroyed. There's a side quest that deals with the sole living heir of House Telvanni, a male Dunmer from Riften.

You mean Brand-Shei? I remember him. However, I recall Brelyna saying that she was from House Telvanni. She mentions this when she introduces herself, "Brelyna Maryon, of House Telvanni. First of my family to leave Morrowind in a long time."

I've had 1.5 Louis Letrushes outside of Whiterun for over 100 hours in my game. Every time I walk by, there's a full version, plus a half version, sticking out of the ground. At one point, I saw Letrush get killed by a thug out in the wilderness, and was surprised to find the 1.5 of him still loitering when I got back to Whiterun.

So after the latest patch, I've noticed that there are more of him, the more times I walk by. Now there are 3.5 of him in my game. I found this in a Google image search; guess I'm not the only one.

Weird. I had the same and eyewitnessed the same bounty hunter doing his job on him. I then used a console Kill on my 1.5 and it worked. Until the next day when he was just back there but in a 1.0 version! I would meet his other v1.0 on the road several times after that! =)

just found another bug caused by the new patch; Broken Bookshelves. Basically you use the bookshelf once and you can no longer place books on it. Other than manually placing them on there of course. Kind of annoying seeing as how I like to collect the skill books and a other interesting ones Ive read. Hope they release a patch for the patch soon lol

I'm still annoyed that none of the weapon mounts or cases work in Vlindrel Hall (Markarth). I guess I should be happy that to make up for it, the mannequin duplicates my armor for me. Image IPB

Basically any manequin will dupe armor ^_^.  And the weapon mounts are apparently a new issue as well.  Seems like this damn patch broke more than it fixed lol

^ My weapon mounts and cases in Markarth haven't worked since I bought the place, which was quite a while ago, so I'm pretty sure it's not due to the patch. 'Tis vexing, though. That was the first thing I checked when I bought Proudspire Manor in Solitude - thankfully they all work. Yay!

I didn't know other mannequins would do that. That gives me lots of ideas...

There's another update coming next week.  But getting patches rushed out is recipe for more bugs, not less.  Patience, grasshopper!

I just ended up putting Steam in offline mode and rolling back to 1.1. It was very annoying having the dragons constantly flying backwards and never landing. You'd have the dragon fight music going constantly but you could never fight them.

I'm really disappointed to learn the quest-fixing patches won't be arriving until January.

I want to start my 2nd character but only after the quest-fixing patch is released.

No, Bethesda said another patch is coming next week  (well, for PC.), it addresses the resistance bug and the backwards-flying Dragons.  They didn't mention anything else.

I had to delete the patch when I found that out. I like collecting books on the lore of Tamriel.

Given how the patch removed elemental resistances, provided us with broken bookshelves, low-ressed textures, made dragons fly backwards for everyone, and I have to say that it seems like the patch caused some problems than it fixed.

Finally done with my first character... Going to start an all-out mage character (vampire) now. Any tips on how to get vampirism ASAP and any mage tips?

Engage in  a tough fight with a  vampire?

True story:  After playing my first character for 225 hours, encountering and slaying maybe 500 vampires of varying power, I never got vampirism.  Fast forward to yesterday.  I decided to start a new game.  I get through the tutorial, I visit riverwood, I get the golden claw quest,   I clear out Bleak falls barrow and I start making my way to Whiterun.    I stop by to clear some cave along the  way.  There's a vampire there.  I kill it/her, then I notice some message on the upper left hand  corner of my screen.  It disappears before I could read it, so  I check my active effects.  Sure enough, I have Sangrine vampo-whatever-its-called.   I'm maybe about 5 hours into my new game at this point.

Say what?   I had no idea you could  get the vampirism disease from a random vampire.  I thought  you could only get it through some   giant quest with tons of fanfare, like how you contract lycanthropy.

I believe the closest place with vampires (who can infect you during combat) is Bloodlet Throne (which is near the southern part of the map), which is not too far from Helgen and Bone Chill Passage (in the mountains). It's part of a quest you get in Falkreath.

It goes without saying that the mages at the College of Winterhold sell some good spells, although there are other vendors of spells outside the college as well (like Falion at Morthal and Farengar Secret-Fire at Dragonsreach).

I suppose it depends on what type of mage you want to be (even as an all-out mage), and what schools of magic you want to focus on. Some people have issue with destruction at high levels, although I've used it quite a bit early on. The frost spells can slow down enemies, and fire works great against trolls who can regenerate their health. I've put points into restoration to heal faster as well, which gives you the ability to heal yourself, your companions, and other NPCs (with healing hands). The mage character I recently made uses conjuration to summon allies to help (usually two Daedric Lords, or Flame Atronachs if the enemy is at a distance, at high levels), invisbility (illusion) is useful, and I've enchanted gear.

If you want to get it quickly and you're playing on PC just use the console:

I'm told the Broken Fang Cave outside Whiterun is good for early contact with vampires.

(By 'outside', I mean 'in the general area of, through a minefield of bandits and giants', of course. Fun times.)

LOL. I spent lots of cure disease potions when clearing vampire lairs with the old char since he was new! It was the same in Oblivion. But there I had a beautiful vampire Nord girl with the mod to keep her face from aging, otherwise she would look just like the harpies in Skyrim!

If you clear a Vampire lair and doesn't contract Sanguinare Vampirism, try eating all Vampire Dusts you collected there. Used to work. Remember that it will take around 3 days and you have to sleep for the transformation to kick in. IIRC.
