@YCF, just go exploring and you'll fill them all. I fill mine on the wilderness while traveling, with this char. First one kept taking the carriage around the country and buying petty and lesser gems already filled. It's a lot faster but it's so expensive... I've spent some 40k septims to train from 60 to 100 enchanting. This time I'm doing it all for free! =)

Or you can learn the Paralyze enchantment, buy filled Petty and Lesser Soulgems, enchant weapons (Iron Daggers? ;)) with Paralyze and turn in a hefty profit doing so. For armor/jewlery Water Breathing is not bad... but it's about 2/3 of the value of Petty Paralyze.

All companions remain on the level you recruit them, unless you disable and enable them with the console.

No wonder Lydia keeps dying! Boo, I'll have to move on to another person. I kind of liked her, even though she sat around and ate the entire time.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know if there's a mod that expands use of the weapon racks? I have the house in Solitude (fell in love with my basement as soon as I bought furnishings) and I have a 5-weapon rack, but I can only use three; is there a mod that "fixes" this? Probably isn't but I thought I'd check.

Hmm, this is a bit strange. I recruited her around level 15 I think. My character is now at level 35 and she had no issues surviving so far.

My Lydia has a complete set of Daedric armor and she is badass. ^_^

Yeah! When I used her on my first run, around level 20 when she became my housecarl, she wouldn't wear anything I'd craft for her. In time she began to use even the Ebony armor and swords I crafted for her. I assumed she gained level with me. (I refused to craft Daedric even with 100 smithing. My char was a Daedrqa hunter not a worshipper!)

This run I used Faendal, then Ultrich and now, at 35 I got Iona and she's a badazz! And she liked that I took her 1-handed and shield and gave her a Greatsword. She's having a good time impaling and decapitating bandits all over the lands.

The empire doesn't lose Skyrim resources if the Empire and independant Skyrim are allies against the Thalmor. Being allies means shared resources.

You still think Ulfric would stay allies with the Empire. That is likely not going to happen due to the stormcloaks view of the Empire.

Additionally if the Empire loses Skyrim they lose High Rock.

Letting Skyrim become independent is no option for them. If Ulfric succedes there is no Empire anymore.

Ok guys. To make this more clear I'll explain it one more time in details.

Followers don't level up with you. No matter what you belive.

Their stats aren't determined the first time you hire them. It is even worse.
They are initialised once per game - the first time you enter the area/town they are in.

This looks like a bug - and it is present on every platform.
You can read about that everywhere.

"Followers in Skyrim spawn at the player's level when the game first loads them, aka the first time the follower is in the same chunk as the player. They do not increase in level, either with the player or otherwise."
http://elderscrolls....llower_(Skyrim)

"A follower's stats are determined based on the level the player is at when he or she first enters the zone that the follower is in. Once generated, the follower's stats do not increase at all. For example, Lydia is usually one of the first followers players will have access to, and most players receive her at a lower level. As such, most players' Lydias will have low stats for the entire game."
http://www.uesp.net/...kyrim:Followers

You can read it also on various forums and other pages. A few more examples :
http://forums.steamg...d.php?t=2258340
http://gametipcenter...-best-followers

And now a little test to check that.

I am hiring Njada from companions. (I've never hired or even talked to her before)

Now I am using the console to check her Healt :

And now, after dismissing her and using "disable" "enable" console commands:

Last night, I did the Daedric quest for Boethiah, and got the Ebony Mail. Even after upgrading it to legendary, it's still not that great (I even used potions, and my smithing bling). Back to the Nightingale armor for me.

Does that mean I can level Lydia with the disable / enable command?

Yes.
Dismiss her - tell her that it "is time to part our ways".
Now turn on the console, click on her.
type :
disable
enable
close the console and re-hire her.

Yeah, I'm curious about that too. Anyway, I'm glad I've only spawned Iona in my game at level 35 then. Just checked her health (thanks for the command, xkg) and she has 540 HP!! That's a lot more than my char has (450 with items)=)

You know of any Daedra to worship...I think I would go with Sanguine myself.

That was a really funny quest.

Sanguine and Sheogorath were the only 2 daedric princes i liked. The rest makes me want to choke to death, especially Namira.

Kinda wish we saw some of Jyggalag too. Oh well.

@Johnsen1972 no problem :)

@RageGT there are many other parameters you can follow the getav  command with

Here is the full list :
http://www.uesp.net/...r_Value_Indices

Using it is very helpful. For example you can find that Mjoll on her highest lvl (looks like 40 lvl is max lvl for followers) has :

556 health. (getav health)
She is:
not so good with one handed weapons - only 49 lvl (getav onehanded),
very good at ttwo handed : 100 (getav twohanded)
and useless at magic: 50 magicka (getav magicka)

hehehe no. Did you close the console after typing disable ? Do not close it, type enable immediately after "disable".
and look around - because she can appear behind you and will walk away (because you have dismissed her)

In case of any troubles use this chain of commands (this is for Lydia only):

prid A2C94
disable
enable
moveto player

1 - Since the Great War and the Civil War, Skyrim had no time to heal from its wounds, to recover health, on the contrary. The situation presented by the NPC, is catastrophic, the trade in Skyrim died, today, years after the great war. A country economically diminished, will be reduced in war.

Skyrim is not really impoverished, it is just being leached of resources by the empire.  They control the heavy mining areas and are sending tax revenue to Cyrodiil.  They also control the richest agricultural lands.

And Ulfric and its stormcloak showed that they were not prepared to wait. They want to fight Thalmors as soon as possible after the Empire, and their hatred of the Elves is beyond the rational state. Besides, it's funny, when the stormcloak npcs meet the thalmor, they always fight against them ( and they always lose... ) . The war between them is already there, in their country.

That's not really true.  Ulfric knows they need time to prepare.  He wanted to be able to do so without Thalmor running around Skyrim.  After a Stormcloak victory, he says his first concern is that the Thalmor will attack before they're ready.  Obviously the expulsion of Thalmor agents from Skyrim will be first priority.  This should be anyway!

The Thalmor could not know everything. So far I have not seen a single Thalmor infiltrated in a major city, at a hight political post, or in the Imperial Legion, or otherwise. I didn't see yet something that could explain me that they know the secrets of the Empire. They are like outside of a fortress, to turn around in the garden, under observation, trying to seek what are the thoughts of their ennemy, and how they could take advantage during this peace.

They're lurking around all the Imperial holds, at least the big ones like Markarth and Solitude.

That's why they try to weaken the empire and Skyrim, they try to disunite the two allies in a conflict between them because the Empire united is still considered as a threat.

An independent Skyrim under Ulfric is also a threat, as the dossier on Ulfric says.

And.... another discovery.

I  upgraded a pickaxe.   (that's right.  You can upgrade pickaxes)  I put a soul trap enchantment on it    for the lulz.

I'm now mining ore with a  Pickaxe of Soul Trapping.

I just completed a quest at Frostflow Lighthouse where a redguard family was kidnapped, killed by the Falmer, and this has to the first time in a ES game that i felt sympathy for characters that you never get to meet (alive). Spoilers aside is there an option later on to tell anybody about the Falmer's shenanigans In the main questline? So far i'm only at the part where you meet the greybeards.

I made the mistake of picking up Hobd's remains, and it won't leave my inventory. Image IPB

I've got a bunch of useless junk in my inventory that's considered quest items so I can't get rid of it.  I can't loot a Briar Heart because they just sit there but I have no option to give it to... I forget who needs one, maybe the White Phial guy.  I've also got the Strange Amulet and Unusual Gems taking up useless space.

I got rid of it by taking Hobd's remains to the top of the lighthouse and placing it in the fire, you'll get Sailor's Repose a permanent 10% increase to Restoration spells.

Yep, I have those too. I gave Pantea back her flute, why do I have to keep carrying it around?

I also just realized a small reason why my back hurts - I've been carrying a 20 lb. case of Mead that I'm supposed to deliver. Oops.

I think he mentiones in his diary that he would like to be "buried" in his lighthouse fire. Showing sailors the way, even in death.

I kind of wish dragons were harder to kill.

I mean honestly dungeon bosses are harder to beat down than they are.
