I got rid of it by taking Hobd's remains to the top of the lighthouse and placing it in the fire, you'll get Sailor's Repose a permanent 10% increase to Restoration spells.

How did you figure that out? You know, I don't think I even went to the top of the lighthouse. Image IPB

I think he mentiones in his diary that he would like to be "buried" in his lighthouse fire. Showing sailors the way, even in death.

Same here i remembered his diary after i found his remains.

I kind of wish dragons were harder to kill.

I mean honestly dungeon bosses are harder to beat down than they are.

I thought they were pretty easy, too, until I started getting ancient and named dragons. They can be quite a challenge if you're in a place with no cover. I've had more than one eat me for lunch. If you're in the right situation, though, they are definitely easier than some of the dragon priests.

LOL, I've barely even used stealth in this playthrough. I seem to be more about bullying my way around stuff than being patient. The only time I stop is to look up at the sky, and ooh and ahh the light show.

@Giggles,

Yeah, actually being able to stun a blood dragon with a shield bash, (even if it is the top tier [x5 damage] perk) just seems so...wrong.

1 - Since the Great War and the Civil War, Skyrim had no time to heal from its wounds, to recover health, on the contrary. The situation presented by the NPC, is catastrophic, the trade in Skyrim died, today, years after the great war. A country economically diminished, will be reduced in war.

Skyrim is not really impoverished, it is just being leached of resources by the empire.  They control the heavy mining areas and are sending tax revenue to Cyrodiil.  They also control the richest agricultural lands.

And Ulfric and its stormcloak showed that they were not prepared to wait. They want to fight Thalmors as soon as possible after the Empire, and their hatred of the Elves is beyond the rational state. Besides, it's funny, when the stormcloak npcs meet the thalmor, they always fight against them ( and they always lose... ) . The war between them is already there, in their country.

That's not really true.  Ulfric knows they need time to prepare.  He wanted to be able to do so without Thalmor running around Skyrim.  After a Stormcloak victory, he says his first concern is that the Thalmor will attack before they're ready.  Obviously the expulsion of Thalmor agents from Skyrim will be first priority.  This should be anyway!

That's why they try to weaken the empire and Skyrim, they try to disunite the two allies in a conflict between them because the Empire united is still considered as a threat.

An independent Skyrim under Ulfric is also a threat, as the dossier on Ulfric says.

1 - I do not think you understood . Have a potential for wealth and resources does not mean they are exploited. If you are at war all the time, you can not exploit these resources and thus you become poorer. The situation is catastrophic because of the past and current situation that prevents them from enjoying their wealth, resources and thus be better able to lead the next war. Today, they can't; weakened by years of war. Peace is a good thing to rebuild, always.

An example. Ivory Coast was considered the pearl of Africa, the richest and prosperous state of Africa. Look at what the war all the time did, of course, they are impoverished.

Going to war without being prepared and a wealth of war behind, is going nowhere. In addition we learn that the resources of the Empire to Skyrim are essential . May be not essential to your point of view and those of Stormcloak, but it is something at least important, and trade is something desirable for a quick supply at any point.

2 - What isn't really true in what I said ?Yes, their hatred of the Elves is beyond the rational state. They want to fight right now, I don't see any npc with the Stormcloaks who said they need time before going to war.  And Ulfric won't be able to control them. And as said, with the point about Talos and thalmors, spies killed, anyways, it will lead to the war. Ulfric, won't compromise Talos. Or if so, I don't know why he is fighting the Empire.

3 - An independent Skyrim is a threat because of Talos, that point that Thalmor really care. They don't want an independent Skyrim which would pray Talos. This leads against their interest and what they want. I don't think that was about their strengh feared.

Or are completely disarmed like I was just prior to loading the carriage for the "diplomatic immunity" quest.  They seem to also have a knack for butting in when you're fighting 2 bears, a giant, and an atronach or spriggin, so the challenge can vary.  If they decide to show up in pairs, then the odds do level out a bit more.

I've got a bunch of useless junk in my inventory that's considered quest items so I can't get rid of it.  I can't loot a Briar Heart because they just sit there but I have no option to give it to... I forget who needs one, maybe the White Phial guy.

Briar hearts are alchemy ingredients.  If you can't  sell them, just eat them.  or make potions out of them.

lol anyone had a dark brotherhood assassin run up on them, on an open road and during the middle
of the day. The encounter was lulz worthy, I still can't believe they sent a noob to take me out.

Encountered an Elder Dragon that almost removed all health in a single breath attack, and using Frost Resistance items only helped slow the immediacy of potion breaks. Of course, I was attempting to save NPC's, or it may not have mattered as much.

And I still have run solo; no Companions thus far other than Shadowmere, and a Spectral Summons that decided to remain around and offer advice during a time of Sanctuary crisis.

Yesterday was the lowest point of the game thus far, as some mechanics spoiled RP a bit too much.

* Decided to take a wife, and after a few years of being courted by others, the lass agreed instantly simply because I chose to wear an amulet. While I knew this was coming, it could have been so much better.

* Diplomatic Immunity - had to wear the silly party clothes provided at the last minute because the Fine Clothing I chose to purchase were deemed unworthy.

* Having to remove and regain all that gear to sim a feeling of security was painful. The DB wedding Quest was so much better, smoother, and memorable.

* Moving corpses and items is somewhat difficult; have to push, and not pull.

* Another quest had a Pressure plate that would not work correctly; decided the loot beyond the last barrier was not worth the time lost.

OTOH, the rescue of the Torture victims, the encounter with an Elder Dragon, and the dungeons in general make the game worth pursuing. So following the main storyline is not paramount in enjoying the game; tis only a reason to create a character.

IMO, of course.

I had to take the Staff of Hag's Wrath away from Ghorbash last night, because he kept catching everything on fire. Image IPB

We were outside the mine on Boethiah's quest, and all you could see was fire, and both Ghorbash and Shadowmere chose to just stand there in the middle of it. *sigh*

www.bethblog.com/2011/12/01/skyrim-what-were-working-on/

Updated 12/6: While the 1.2 update fixed the long-term
play issues for most PS3 users, we are aware that is not the case for
some. We’ve been reaching out to a number of those users to collect save
games, so we can take a look at their specific issues. Right now we
know it’s not one thing, but a combination of smaller ones that some
folks are seeing, but others are not. Some seem to be the PS3 autosaving
in the background (you can turn that off), some may be SPU AI updates,
and some may relate to dynamic system memory allocation. These fixes are
not in the current 1.3 update that is in final testing, but will be in
future ones. We understand how frustrating it can be when your game is
having issues, and we thank all of you for your continued feedback and
patience. Rest assured we take your gameplay experience seriously and
will continue working on this until it’s resolved.

Yeah, both assassination attempts on my PC were pretty pathetic for the DB.  First was certainly no challenge; but the second one was pure facepalm.  We were up north in white barren nothingness, and I could see the assassin running at me from about a 10 miles away so he lived just a split second longer than it took for him to turn red on the bar.

My PC has decided, unfortunately, that all of the DB must now die for allowing their standards to slip so low over the past 200 years that their mark can actually see a hit coming, and show so little courtesy in this day and age, that they send incompetent boobs to whack someone like him. Image IPB

I'll have to catch up with my brothers on the next playthrough.  This current guy is way too much of a boy scout anyway.Image IPB

Anyone know when the DLC's for Xbox 360 will be coming out?
I wanna see if we can go to Cyrodill or somewhere exciting since Cyrodill is highly talkable with the townsfolk and in books around. Or at least be able to go to Bravil and/or Imperial City.

Unless they've completely redesigned it I'd rather not.

It's strange how only now do I realise how much Oblivion failed to capture the essence of the Imperial race. Skyrim feels like the homeland of the nords. Morrowind/Vvardenfell feels like the homeland of the dunmer. Cyrodill just felt like some generic fantasy setting.

That's a coincidence. I just did that quest. I had more luck there with sneaking and a bow than the guy in the clip. :P

On my way to Saarthal now.

A quick, somewhat macabre question: does anyone know where to acquire Human Flesh? I've concocted a very good poison and it's one of the main ingredients, but I can't find much of it in the game (...what? Don't look at me like that! >:o).

Also, if you're interested in knowing: Imp Stool, Human Flesh, and Mara Tapinella are the ingredients in this particular poison. It continuously damages the target's health while paralyzing them at the same time. If your Alchemy skill is high, it's pretty deadly.

Been taking a break from Skyrim lately, played around 50 hours or so. Sure the game seems awesome in the beginning, but after a while it felt pretty empty.
A part from exploration and the world itself I can't see what would make this game a perfect ten.
I would rate it around 7/10. Still a good game, but not magnificent or anything like that.

I've found human flesh on random looted carcasses in random dungeon fights (primarily on Falmer I think?).

But, the Wiki says the following:  (Many of the Skyrim portions of the wiki are not yet mature, so I'm sure there's more out there than what's represented here):

The Black Sacrament effigy in Aventus Aretino's house contains a sample of Human Flesh.
The Black Sacrament effigy in Maven Black-Briar's manor in Riften.
Inside Reachcliff Cave.
Inside the Dwarven ruin of Raldbthar, in the room where you first encounter Falmer.
Inside the Rat tunnels in the room with the psychotic man wearing a chefs hat. [/list]
Anyway, hope it helps.
