I have two questions. How can I level up speech faster than just selling stuff, and no glitches please? Also when does the new patch come out, I want to install my game in HDD but I can't because I don't want to download 1.2 for my 360.

One last thing, is there any fast way to level up Destruction magic, I've been trying to do it normally but it's taking too long and its getting left behind with relation to my other attributes.

Selling stuff seems to be the main way.

You can also pay for training - 5 times per level.

Certain skill books give you an instant increase.

Finally, persuation attempts seems to give you a good amount of XP as well.

As for destruction magic, trainng and using it in actual combat is the quickest way.

There's a speech trainer in the Bards College in Solitude. As for Destruction, same deal find a trainer, there's one at Winterhold. I've found that levelling up destruction through use alone is slower than the other magic schools.

Wow, I just started moving forward on the main quest a bit more - me and Delphine are supposed to stop this dragon at Kynesgrove from resurrecting.

There's just one problem - it comes back to life anyway, and it kicks my ass so badly, I'm almost ashamed to admit it. Seriously, this is the toughest dragon I've fought so far.

I think I'm done for the night on Skyrim - all the reloads have worn me out. >:(

Well now hadn't been here for a while due to being to involved with the game itself. Now I've got a question and I'm hoping that someone can answer it for me.

I've yet to join either side in the Civil War itself. I've fully completed the following Mage College, Companions, Thieves guild, and I'm currently working through the Dark Brother hold quests

Now I'm wondering if there is some who has done the DB already if they know if by killing Vittoria Vici will prevent me from joining the Imperals since the killing has to be a public one with no stealth involved. From what I gather she is some one who has pro empire sentiments ut is getting married to a Nord who has strong ties to the Storm cloaks. Any help on this would be appreciated

Oh no you can kill her while sneaking, you just have to do it while shes giving her speech to the guests. As to if it matters...I killed a number of people FAR more important to the Empire for the DB. And I'm in the Legion now. Heck as long as you pay your fine off...well I killed a crap load of guards in one of the Cities, and the Yarl? "Oh its good to have someone like you around" Gives me a job, I become the Thane. The AI doesn't seem to remember things like that. But yeah you can get away with her murder no problem, I used an Arrow, hiding behind some bushes. What was funny is before I got in my spot some kid went "Weddings are boring I hope to see some action soon!" But yeah killed her, changed my weapons and was like

"Whu! on noes!" (lulz) *walks away*

You may wish to move further away from Delphine, as she must be hard of hearing to get that close to a couple of Dragons in a discussion.

It busted a small quest for a local merchant, but nothing major. And that contract was quite memorable, as I used an Etherial Shout and Stealth to escape.

And there's a guy in Riften's Meadery. You can persuade/bribe/intimidate him forever if you wish. So if you want a fast skill level exploit, that is it.

Well, the newest patch has fixed bugger all for me. At level 56 and many hours of quests, I was finally looking forward to becoming guildmaster of the Thieves Guild. Nope. It's bugged to hell. Brynjolf tells me to meet him, everyone is gathered for the ceremony, I stand where the little arrow is pointing and then....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Grrrr. :pinched:

When I click on any of them, all they say is, "Not now, we'll talk after the ceremony." But the bloody ceremony won't start! *sob*

If I seem overly emotional about this, the Thieves Guild questline was the only one that bugged out for me in Oblivion, and the only one I never got to complete. So far, I've had half a dozen quests in Skyrim glitch and prevent me from completing them, and I won't even get started on all the sh*t from quests I've completeed that are still sitting in my inventory and won't let me drop them. I'm carrying nearly 50 pounds of useless garbage. :( Why, oh why do Bethesda games have to be so damn buggy?

I'm almost afraid to continue the main quest or start the Civil War quests for fear they will screw up too. I think I'm looking forward to March even more now...

Has anyone else had numerous quests in Skyrim they coudn't complete, or am I just that lucky?

Well now as for me I did have a few of the misc. quests like the ones for the bards college which were bugged but I was able to find work arounds for them. As for the thieves guild the only problems for which I had so far with that one there is that Delvin who you give the Larceny objects wont take the Bust or the Thalmer eye.I'm still working on the stones as I need one more of them so I don't know if that is bugged or not. Also there is one part of the companions quest that is bugged. You running on PC or console?

Console. I play on the 360. I love Bethesda games so much, just all the bugs really start to take all the joy out of it for me. I didn't have nearly as many issues with Oblivion, but I still couldn't finish one whole questline. *sigh* I guess I will just complete what I can and hope future patches will fix my poor Valkyrie's game. She's such an awesome character, she deserves a complete game.

A few things I've noticed from playing two types of melee  builds.

1) Dual-wielding 1 handed weapons is as you say.  There doesn't seem to be 'weight' behind the blows.  You'll find yourself not noticing any graphical/physics difference between a power attack and a normal one.  Even when you manage  to pull off that 1-handed finishing move where you send the opponent flying halfway across the room, it just feels... odd.  (I just tapped you, why are you flying across the room?) But by huge contrast, I found that there IS weight behind  your blows when you're using 2 handed weapons.  it's much more visceral.    You can *feel* the impact  when you swing an axe.

2) There are combos in this game.  On PC if you're dual wielding, and you have a full stamina bar, hold down both mouse buttons and your character will  do a 3-hit combo thing  where he spins around as he nails the guy in front of him with 3 quick hits.  It looks cool and it *feels* exactly like  it does in TW2.

3) just like in DA:O, you can slice people's heads off with blunt weapons like maces and warhammers.  lol  Still love it though, it's just that... it shouldn't be.  Hammers aren't sharp, why is this happening?

Thanks for the tips. I'll try them out.

Watch my 2-handed BAMF warrior! Follow the sig. =)

Oh, Slim, use TM (toggle Menu) for clean screenshots. Just remember to close the console before PrintScrn because it is invisible until you TM+enter on the console again. =)

PS.: I just fell over Riverwood from High Hrothgar. Shortcut on the mountain side! Awesome! heh

I sold my sets of ring and amulet in Windhelm, one set for more HP and one for Fire Resistance, when I was leaving town, thinking that I'd go straight back to Riften where I would enchant much better ones now.I was going to run to Riftena and fill the lot of my petty/lesser/common gems on the way, alone since Aela replaced my companion for a Comnpanion's quest and stayed at the Silver Hand's place for her business there.

On the way to Riften, I delivered some Frost Salts to a lady in a miner's village, helped the giants against a spider invasion, killed another Elder Dragon and claimed a Word of Power in its lair. Then I noticed a possible Orc camp and I went there to investigate. Received a task for the forgemaster's fingers and on my way back, I noticed a shrine just a few steps from the Orc camp, so I just jumped down and reached the Shrine from above.

I refused Boethian's followers, killed everyone there and the Daedra God still came and talked to me, so now I'm thinking who can I sacrifice because I don't want to be cursed by that thing. I left the Shrine, found a ruined shack with some bandits, a lousy vampire and a ruined tower with some Frost Trolls.

That was some 3 hours ago. Since then I'm trying to reach Riften and now that I looked on the map, I'm still right at the gates of Windhelm! And I still don't have my new rings and amulets!!! It is going to be a long trip home...

PS: Filled 26 soul gems in the process. My game is marking 80 hour and the farthest West I have been was Falkreath. Where I didn't enter a drinking contest, at least not at that time. I was saving it for later and that became really later...

No she has to die PUBLICLY, you don't have to be seen, only her death. I got the bonus.

Think of JFK No one seen who shot him outright, but he died publicly. On the other Hand if he was assassinated in a bathroom......

See the death has to be public, just like a later contract has to be in a city for the bonus, nad public, but you don't have to be seen, hell even if you are its only a 1k bounty.

Anyone know how long it takes Ore to Replenish?

It seems like it's been a month and a half in game time and still no ore.

I fully undestand now so as long as I just pay the bounty everything is cool and life goes on as normal even when I murder the king<LOL>

Nameless one-I'm not sure to be honest with you on how long the mines take to get more ore. You see after I've depleted them have yet to be back. Reason being is that I've got moe types of Iron ingots than I'm ever going to use in my house in Whiterun. Which mine are you waiting on if you don't mind my asking.

As for me I'm going to go and try and finish up the DB quests today. Does anyone know if once the Civil War and Adulin is killed if you can still continue on with the game? As there are lots of areas for which I've yet to have been to. Heck I've found like 300 of them and only been to like 100 of them or so.<LOL>

...You have no idea, keep playing it, and well you'll be surprised you can still join the legion after your main target.

Saddly I have to restart as I have three broken quests -_- I don't wanna...

As to ores I'm not sure if they respawn actully...I kinda wonder if the time stamps in the game might be screwed up, given since I married Sylgia I've seen her sleep only TWICE. Also shadowmere has yet to respawn, and its been a loooong time.

Ok I'll trust you on the way things are going here and continue the play thourgh with the DB and let it play out and see what happens. Could prove quite interesting to say the least.

Which quests do you have that are broken? I know that there are several for which are bugged like the 3 for which you get for the bards college as well as for the not getting the option for giving Delvin the last 2 larceny items. also the companions quest Purify is also bugged. But some of these I've found either a work around or console that would get me around these.

I think I also know who I'm going to use for the one daedric quest, I think it's Boethla<sp> where you have to sacrafice<kill> a follower. I can't stand that Carcio maybe if I leave him live instead of killing him he can become a follower and I can use him. I can't stand that guy.<LOL>

You definitely aren't the only one.

I couldn't complete the Thieves Guild either, because when I was supposed to be shadowing that argonian down to the East Empire Company warehouse, he literally disappeared into thin air. The plot marker tells me I should be in Solitude if I exit the city, and when I enter it it tells me I should be on the docks by the warehouse. I went down to the warehouse to see if he was there, and went all the way through, up to the point where my brother tells me the argonian should be with a bandit, and you're supposed to confront him. But he's not there. No completing that for me.

Secondly is Blood on the Ice, which did trigger, but I can't complete it because that woman Viola Giordino has completely disappeared, in the same manner as the the argonian. It's even more annoying because I don't see why it's relevant to go talk to her. I can accuse someone of a murder without having to run it past a random woman first! Image IPB

And lastly is the main quest itself. First time I escaped Helgen, I followed Ralof's advice to split up, and then I went to Riverwood later. Obviously I'd missed the reunion conversations with his family. His sister wouldn't give me the quest to tell Jarl Balgruuf about Helgen, and when I went to see the Jarl anyway, there was no conversation there about it. Had to start completely afresh.

Oddly enough, I created a new character and none of these things are bugged. I guess it was random bad luck the first time?

One funnier bug (think it's a bug) is when I went back to Morvanskr (or however it's spelt) to rescue an NPC for the Companions. I went in and heard sounds of fighting, and I rushed through because I thought it was the NPC being stupid and attacking their captors. Instead I found Sanguine fighting a bunch of mages. Image IPB

Hmm well technically I have four, one is the strange amulate quest, two is the bards leaders insturment quest...welll crap five, also its leaders quest, as in I haven't been paid, I handed over the instruments to the other bards...which ended the quests, yet didn't remove the items from my invy.

4 is the...crap, its a book grab quest, it was worth alot so I took it to sell it, later on got a quest to grab it, which doesn't seem to know I ALREADY HAVE IT, and keeps telling me to go back. Then I open the chest, isn't there, can't put it back, so stuck. And the last is the Three Amulets quest the thrid and last place I need to clear out ALWAYS freezes...

But meh I like playing as a DW, but god Imperials are so short...Nords arn't suited for it, ditto for all other classes, and I just don't like playing as a redguard who is best for it, not as there black, which isn't a problem, I mean hell you can change the tone now from Deep Africa Black, to...idk looks kinda like an Indian, arab? One looks sorta white, its the Voices.

Every redguard male I've seen minus the one in the DB has that same sort of voice that reminds me of the hobbits and I HATE Them. And when I read the text of that redguard character I read it in that voice >>

ReallyRue are you using the pc or console. As I didn't have a problem with tracking the Argonian at all and finishing that one there. I'm using the pc. The only problem for which I've come across with the TG is like I said earlier truning in the last 2 larceny items to Delvin. Not sure about the 24 sones quest yet as I need one more to complete that one there. Hopefully I'll find it soon and let you know.
