@Redneck it sure does.

I can remember in Oblivion I had a contract to kill this one guy for the DB ao I was following the dude and was going to kill him on the road and I was just ahead of him and I'm waiting and waiting for this guy and all of a sudden I get this deal come up saying that "You've killed such and such report back to the the guild" or something along those lines. and I'm wonder what is going on? so I went dwon the road and a couple of bandits had attacked me I killed them and found the guys body who I was suppose to kill had just been killed by these bandits. So I got paid for a kill I didn't do.<G>

You killed him? Nice.

I wonder how many more husbands would she kill if she could indeed re-marry? The Black Widow!

50 hours into Skyrim, I'm a constant sneaker, and just saw a new auto-kill animation the other day. So awesome.

What was it? The only one I ever see is my character coming up from behind, placing the dagger over the person's throat and slicing it.... cool animation but it's always the same one when I do a stealth kill.

Don't remember precisly, but he spun the character around and sliced from the front.

Also, most of the time it pulls you into 3rd person when you do an auto-kill. But I really love it those few times it stays in 1st person as the arm reaches up and slices.

OMG. Alchemy+Enchanting+Smithing is so fraking awesome! And it doesn't need to be as high as to max 3000/3000 armor/weapon damage. 1100/500 is my Armor/Damage with a full Ebony set (+4 items with +45% Two-Handed damage).

As usual, I don't use Daedric. It is ugly and it smells! Damage can be increase still quite a bit with a Fortify 2-handed potion. And I'm able to brew some very decent potions for most anything. No more suffering to get some Minor Health pots! My own pots restore 120 health atm. And I have over 250 lbs of ingredients in my chest in Riften! =)

Isn't there an armor cap of 587 points or something? :?

Possibly, if you're talking about that one piece of equipment. Mine is 425. I was referring to total Armor Rating we can see when we open the Apparel tab of our Inventory. Then it's 1100. That's the sum of all pieces and I don't know, but I think it adds the Lord Stone bonus to that as well, perhaps.

My old char had some 780 Armor Rating. This one is so much better! Level 45 vs Level 60 of the other one and I love when I rebuild a better char than his antecessor! hehe

The armor cap in Skyrim occurs at an Armor Rating of 567 (80% damage reduction).

Hmm...  I think that refers to Damage Reduction:

http://www.uesp.net/...ng#Armor_Rating

Armor Cap
Damage reduction is capped at 80%. If you are wearing all four pieces of armor, this occurs at 567 displayed armor rating.

It doesn't mean that your Armor Rating cannot be higher than that. Only that the Damage Reductin from  AR is capped at 80% which is reached with AR of 567.

I don't know what is the exact cap for armor but one thing I am sure :

There is no difference between having 800 armor and 1900.

Tested it with two armor sets. Both tests on the same giant.

My health after being hit 15 times by a giant (834 - Dragonplate armor)

And now after 15 hits (1896 - Deadric armor)

With proper smithing skills you can achieve the highest armor rating that is necessary wearing only regular steel armor (567.. which = the cap of 80% reduction.. anything more is pointless).

It's a bit disappointing knowing that my fully upgraded steel armor protects me just as effectively as my fully upgraded dragonbone armor...only difference is visual appearance.

I love it. I can wear plated steel without being gimped, and it looks cool. It's always bothered me that certain armors become useless late game, especially if they look cool. So I feel that the reward (567 armor) for heavily investing in smithing so that it allows you to stick with your old gear is fine. :)

..That, and daedric is a liiiitle too high fantasy for my tastes, so I wouldn't want to wear it. If it was a requirement to beat the game on Master I would be turned off.

It's a subjective thing I suppose

Totally agree with you. I love Ebony Armor but I also loved the look my old early armor had. I also have a Wolf's Armor and Nord Hero set. I might get back to one of those later. =)

And imagine if the cap wasn't there. 1800 armor points would be ridiculous.

Nah, I hope it is a bug and it will be patched soon.
As far as I know there is no cap on weapon damage so there shouln't be any on armor.

I never play melee characters, but I really like the look of the Blades and Imperial armour, especially on a female. Who needs that ugly ebony/daedric/dragonbone when steel can be upgraded to the cap.

Being able to craft Daedric weapons & armour, but not even iron arrows, is total nonsense btw.

What I really miss, though, is Morrowind's bear armour. It would be an excellent replacement for the ridiculously skimpy fur/hide armours that are currently in the game.

This doesn't even need to be a steel armor.
You can upgrade most basic Iron Armor to almost twice the cap.

1026 (~1200 with the shield)

I don't have any perk in light armor and now I am curious what is the highest possible light armor rating. Anyone ?

You can make ANY armour reach the cap, if you boost smithing high enough and use the typical exploits.

Well, an Elder Dragon did swoop down on me while I was in Dawnstar - I was trying to give Kharjo his amulet, and that inconsiderate bastard of a dragon interrupted and started blowing fireballs at us.

Damn thing killed my horse while he was at it. Needless to say, I was pissed - so me and the Khajiit caravan pulled that damn dragon out of the sky and opened up a can of whoop-ass on him. He was dead within seconds.

That's what inspired me to take Kharjo on as a follower. I'd have taken the rest of the caravan with me, too - but we would've been way overpowered and taken over half of Tamriel, thus rendering the entire game pointless.

You know, I actually had Kharjo as a follower for a little while there, but I stupidly let him go before I had seen him in action. I think I started doing a Companions quest, and instead of just going with the temporary Companion follower, and meeting up with Kharjo afterwards, I sent him packing. I regret that now!

I still maintain that Ghorbash the Iron Hand is an awesome follower. Image IPB

We're both outfitted in Daedric armor, which I thought I'd hate, but something about the horns makes me happy. I totally dig it. I think it makes a difference when you see photos of it on other people's characters versus on your own.

Will have to admit that with armor like what you show here it makes me glad that I don't wear light armor.<LOL> You wouldn't see my character wearing it

I think I'll just stick to my Daedric armor thank you

^ Well, if you side with the Stormcloaks, you do get a bearskin (and head) hat like that shown above. I do have a bit of a beef with the female version of it, though. I equipped the outfit after they gave it to me, wrinkled my nose, and immediately put my Daedric armor back on. Why on earth would you want to wear a miniskirt in combat? /facepalm

As was mentioned, armor should be armor. You know, for protection?
