I weep when I think how in Morrowind there were only 2 full sets of Daedric armour, one worn by the awesome Divayth Fyr, and for the other set one had to find and collect the extremely elusive parts.
Yeah, I remember that. It was pretty fantastic. I loved how you couldn't even collect the full set until Tribunal and Bloodmoon, where they each added a pauldron.

You can make ANY armour reach the cap, if you boost smithing high enough and use the typical exploits.xkg wrote...
I don't have any perk in light armor and now I am curious what is the highest possible light armor rating. Anyone ?
Ehhh ... so there is no difference between heavy and light armor in this game at all.
I hope it will be fixed somehow.

Nah, I hope it is a bug and it will be patched soon.
As far as I know there is no cap on weapon damage so there shouln't be any on armor.
I know my Daedric bow does like 144 pts of damage thats not counting the arrows and the enchantments on the bow.

743 dmg with standrd fortify archery potion.
1190 dmg with self-made fortify archery potion.
I never put any enchantments on weapons - you can't use Elemental Fury with enchanted weapon.
And the speed you can gain from this shout is much better than any damage from enchantment.

^ Well, if you side with the Stormcloaks, you do get a bearskin (and head) hat like that shown above. I do have a bit of a beef with the female version of it, though. I equipped the outfit after they gave it to me, wrinkled my nose, and immediately put my Daedric armor back on. Why on earth would you want to wear a miniskirt in combat? /facepalm
As was mentioned, armor should be armor. You know, for protection?
Well I'll have to admit that I'll be siding with the Imperials myself but will continue wearing my Daedric armor and using my Daedric weapons. That bear looking aromor looks like something you'd wear to a costume party not to go out and do battle in.

I had a hard time making that choice. I finally started the civil war quest line last night, right around the 230-hour mark of my first playthrough. How is that for being indecisive?

Still, this is the only tree I have filled; just have bits and parts of others because Stealth has been so good overall. Now when fighting a dragon, and I am in a hunting blind, and the drake flies over to hover and breath death on my position; just pop into Stealth and the dragon actually starts to look around where I went *BAMF*, and get to place a few arrows into that surprised maw!

Your doing allot better than me I've got probably twice as many game hours in and have decided to join the imperials long ago just have yet to do it. Other things in the game keep coming up. Not that it's a bad thing.
We need a Dlc where we can get the sh** out of the Thalmor and put them out of skyrim once again.

Wondering if there is glitch with Stealth. It seems it was more reliable and required less boosting when it was less than 100 score. Now during daylight, I also need an item or two in order to buff a completely filled Skill tree to avoid detection; feels a bit off to me.

I was wondering that about Stealth as well as I'm having the same problem as you are with it. And will have to admit that it's not the only tree for which I've got filled either. Got heavy armor and bow and I believe one other filled.

There's nothing quite like making Thalmor agents kill each other.

Well now will have to admit that I've gotten Falmor as well as for Foresworn to to fight and kill one another and laughed my but off about that there. Only thing is I've not found a whole lot of Thalmor around Of course when they start fighting amongst themsellves I've not used spells to make them do it either. Have gotten them fighting one another uing just my bow.<G> I don't use very many speels maybe healing for my companion when I have one with me. Other than that don't waste my time with them. Don't even have any perks in none of them ro in alcheny,

Fully understandable there. Now I do have some varying spells in my spellbook don't get me wrong there. But I've yet to buy any they've all been what I've found in dungeons and what have you. Never was one that was much of a fpell user. Frenzy might be uselful for the war.<G>

My archery skill is abysmal in this playthrough, and even with legendary dows, my arrows more or less just go "plink" off enemy armor. I haven't made a Daedric bow yet, but I'm sure it will be nowhere near as impressive as the stats I'm seeing here. Waa.

I'm upset that there was no benefit in going the light armor route of the smithing tree. It's unfair the best bows are on the heavy armor side. The damage I'm doing is with an archery skill of 81 and four +40% bow damage enchantments. Sickens me.

The most damage comes from:
Alchemy 100 + few perks (to make fortify smithing potion)
Enchanting 100 + few perks (to make fortify smithing and fortify archery items)
Archery 100 + 5 perks in overdraw
With this you can upgrade even most basic bow. Like this one for example :

EDIT oh I forgot about Smithing : 100 with perks.

There are some mods that allow you to craft arrows, but I ended up disabling them due to unexpected side effects- like the fact that they made the unique Thieves Guild armor come without its usual enchantments, and you could smelt your own equipment down if you weren't careful (which I discovered as I was happily smelting away thinking I was using ore- and suddenly my character was naked).virumor wrote...
I never play melee characters, but I really like the look of the Blades and Imperial armour, especially on a female. Who needs that ugly ebony/daedric/dragonbone when steel can be upgraded to the cap.
Being able to craft Daedric weapons & armour, but not even iron arrows, is total nonsense btw.
Fletching is really its own art, though, not a smithing skill so much. So I guess I'm still okay with it.
If you think an armor should be rare in the game, all you have to do is decline to take the perk.
I like the idea of wolf's head or bear's head helmets, but in practice they end up looking silly. The female Stormcloak armor had the added silliness of the miniskirt. I don't like the gladiator look of the Imperial armors, either. What I really miss, though, is Morrowind's bear armour. It would be an excellent replacement for the ridiculously skimpy fur/hide armours that are currently in the game.
The good part of the mod- I ended up smithing and enchanting a Nightingale set for my battle mage and she looks quite badass in it with a dragon priest mask.

Then I suppose there is still hope yet. What's the cap for bow damage enchantments?

4 items x "bows do 47% more damage". I couldn't enchant them any higher.

Has anyone here done the Rescue Mission for the Companions? I'm supposed to rescue a guy named Elrindir that has been kidnapped in a Vampire cave. But everytime I come to the cave, and kill all the enemies, he starts attacking me, even though I haven't attacked him myself. Is this a bug of some sort?
It sounds like it, unless you used a spell or attack that accidently hit him without realizing it. I've completed the quest previously, and the person you rescue shouldn't attack you. The location you are sent to is randomly chosen by the radiant AI, but I don't see why Elrindir would try to attack you when you are rescuing him.

Damage doesn't really matter for archery, same as with magic, considering the benefits of the perks you get. Especially sneak attack bonus, slowing down time and staggering/paralyzing opponents.happy_daiz wrote...
