Rage that is so true there. What are you running if you don't mind my asking? As for me I'm running a Female wood elf  heavy armor sneak bow and dual weapons. All daedric items had someone here that taught me how to correctly take advantage of the smithing and Now i've got great weapons and armor . Image IPBImage IPB

Here's what I use. No Daedric form me. They're ugly and they smell! Helmet has an H to it because of the No Helmet Mod.

The stuff - I'd love to create cool names for them but it would be a mess to find them in the Favorites List so I had to keep it simple. =)

That is one bad ass character!

How did you get your weapons to do that much damage? My only great weapon is a Elven Greatsword and it does 47 damage.

Ok, this is a great game no argument about that. But, it is no where NEAR as great as people are claiming. Due to the one thing all Bethesda games suffer from, game/quest breaking bugs.

I'm 1 1/2 full playthroughs in, around 120 hours, and I only had minor bugs.  My game is not broken and there's no doubt in my mind it is GOTY.  Maybe game of the decade.

Sorry you had some bugs, but I think you're exaggerating.  Obviously you are because there are a crap ton of people playing and enjoying the game.

Honestly, I think it's quite possible that there are people having very different gameplay experiences based on what they play the game on. PC folks clearly have an edge with console commands and tweaks that we poor console slobs don't have access to. I still love Skyrim, but it's been a sad fact of my current playthrough (nearly 300 hours now) that this game is clearly bugged to hell.

My point exactly. And it's as if my post wasn't fully read either, no one that spends a premium of $60 should have a potentially broken product. NO ONE, it's inexcusable for the price we pay for this luxury. And the excuse that it's a "big game" is void and ridiculous. Just cause was three times a larger play space than Skyrim, and there absolutely NO gamebraking bugs or glitches. This is something that is confined to Bethesda games, they are the only major AAA developer that consistently releases games that have potentially game and quest breaking bugs.

As said before, for the price we pay it should not be an issue, ever. For comparison (much larger scale), it's as if one of us bought a million dollar luxury yacht only half the time the hull splits open, none of the appliances work and the rudders have a thirty to forty percent chance of becoming jammed.

There IS no valid defense here. Only invalid excuses.

My god.  New to gaming, I presume?  Show me any  PC game that has ever been released without bugs and I'll pay-pal you  $1000.  Tonight.  Promise.

Of course there's  a valid excuse for a 500+ hour sandbox game  which is only a month old to have bugs.   It's called Reality.  Anything created by humans will be flawed.  The Russians just lost a $30 BILLION     Mars space craft due to a minor computer glitch.  It happens.  Oh, and you know what's even more funny?  Many of the problems you're experiencing with your  Skyrim  are from YOUR end.  YOUR  rig's setup.  Must be.  Since I've yet to encounter a SINGLE game breaking bug after  more than 300 hours of playing.   Imagine that.  YOU complaining about something that's likely your own fault.

It will drop when you reach a specific level. You can also buy those Orichulum bars from smith to make them yourself

Orcish gear eventually drops from enemies/chests with consistancy when you get to be  in the mid to late teens with your levels.  Alternatively, you could just  buy Orichalcum ingots and craft the armor yourself.

Also, there are  friendly/neutral Orc Encampments throughout skyrim.  The blacksmiths in these camps usually have orc gear.

It takes a while. It's like my personal quest to be a Master Smith and Enchanter while dablling a bit in alchemy.  It took me some 90 hours to reach that legitimately. Finding the items to disenchant, filling zillions of petty/lesser/common soulgems instead of wasting thousands of gold purchasing them and screwing the calendar by non stop fast traveling after stores all over the country.  Skinning all animals that dared to attack me and producing hundreds of Hide Bracers (cheapest item to forge and lightest too - and also trains smithing) then enchanting them all with all those lame soulgems to train enchanting.

All this while adventuring and questing a lot. Also training my main combat skills, Two handed and Heavy Armor and producing Steel, Dwarven, Orcish sets before I could have my Ebony which is my definitive set.

There are people who go all the way with alchemy thus making damage  even higer but I'm quite satisfied with what I have.  There are even those who just use the console command to give them the skil level 100, soulgems to enchant and the ingredients for the potions but honestly, where is the fun in that? Getting there is much more fun than simply being there instantly with cheats!

There are still some room for me to improve the items a little higher. My Fortify Smithing potions are at 76% right now. Eventually I'll increase my alchemy level and produce better ones so I'll just improve them a bit more but in no way I'm going to get obsessed with reaching the maximum, which is 136% fortify smithing. There's simple no need for that. If I reach 85%-90% I'll be more than satisfied.

Technical details are explained by XKG in his post, a page or two behind, linked here:

http://social.biowar...ndex/5490789/54

Just note you can have one more Fortify Alchemy item, to produce better Fortify Enchanting and Fortify Smithing items. A Falmer Helmet can be enchanted with Fortify Achemy and used together with a Circlet with the same enchantment.

I'm having some trouble with a bug, anyone know a way to work around/fix it (on xbox)? See, I finished the personal quests for Aela/Farkas/Vilkas after becoming Harbinger, and now I can't recruit them as followers anymore. Which is annoying in itself because I like dragging the Companions around with me. Doubly annoying because they are carrying a bunch of my things that I now can't get back. I had one of them as a technical follower when I was given a "let's go kill a dragon" quest, but I can't swap weapons, or tell them to wait, or whatever with that, so it's not much of an alternative to them behaving as a proper follower.

Hmm Mr Crusty I have one thing to say to you

NERD! Lulz >>

I actully joined all the factions...then again I don't LARP and I aim to take over the games world...so I'm sure that plays a factor.  (well minus the Civil War, going Imp for that though)

Man, LARPing is easily the best way to enjoy this game.

It's too easy to become Master of everything and do almost every quest so you've gotta set yourself artificial limits for future playthroughs, and the only way to make that fun, is to LARP it.

:P

(Though, what I consider as LARP is roleplaying for others - I tend to make the distinction that LARP in a game is essentially RP'ing not supported or recognised by the game. I mean, no one's gonna react to a dead Thieves Guild, because it's not supposed to happen.)

@Rage: HOLY POWERGAMING BATMAN!

:o

Korrin has has a busy fourth week...it got started with her third dragon (a bit tough with just her and Lydea) and then tried to complete a quest for the temple in Whiterun but while she was fighting an animal ambush some vengeful necromancers attacked from behind and killed the guy she was escorting.
Then she headed North and found ruins and the Falmer before retireving a flute for the bards from some necromancers (the bard was grateful but left the thing in Korrin's inventrory).
Then she went to a nearby farm which had a big cat in the house (companion quest) but the door was locked and the owners wouldn't unlock (and too many witnesses to lockpick). Then (loud dramatic music) a dragon lands on a nearby roof and starts spewing ice everywhere. Korrin tried shooting at it but wasn't a good archer and had to take cover to heal eventually helping guards finish off the dragon and using an invisibility potion before picking the lock to get the cat,
Then, there wasthe matter of the wolf queen - 2 tough fights to reach her...the first was resolved with a one hit kill on the vampire and catching the other guy bwtween Korrin and Lydia preventing him from his disarm trick.  On the mass fight I had a break to heal half-way through (bug perhaps?).
Then Korrin went through with becoming a werewolf though I seemed to lose Lydia somehow....
Then (following a quest from much earlier) she tried to retrieve a goat from a giant but got iced to death by a dragon (loud dramatic music) when returning it...reloaded did that bit again (better) and got a different dragon (same music) at the same moment (maybe some quests are more likely to have dragon interruptions at key moments) fortunately this one breathed fire..no probs for my Dunmer girl.
On the way back she got ambushed by a Thalimer justicar squad (with "extreme hatred")..of the 3 only the mage proved any threat..
after that it was just the usual kill bandits, learn a word and retrieve a wedding ring...to be continued

Rage I for one will have to disagree with you in regards to you comment about the Daedric armor<G> But you know what they say to each their own.<LOL> As for me I'm running a female wood elf who uses a bow and stealth when it comes to melee shie she dual wields either dagger or swords.

@Johnsen what program did you use to record your in game video? I've been trying to find one that I could use. One of the few things for which I've done was gotten married.<G>

Now one thing for which they left out is the fact of your not being able to make your own arrows. you can make just about everything else in the game jewlery, weapons armor bows but just not arrows. And I've only come across a small handful of Daedric arrows.

GetmagnaCarta- Sounds like just another exciting day in the world of skyrim. As for the bard instruments that is a known bug there with them 3 quests as the instruments don't get removed from your inventory. If your on the pc you can remove them. if you want the code I can give it to you.

Don't worry about Lydia I've lost her several times in my game and she always manages to find her way back to the house eventually. I think she stops at the nearest watering hole and throws back a few pints of mead.<LOL>  And I didn't know you were playing on the console. sorry about that there.

@ Syvlanus- not sure about magic in the game as I don't use it to be honest with you there. I think in the whole game I might have cast a 1/2 dozen spells or so.

Yep, came across him west of Whiterun, he started chatting to me and I Fire breathed him. He took off and I've now got a named skeleton dragon that can't be hit and a column of magic going up into the sky.

Accidently overwrote my previous quicksave and the last save-slot I had was too far back so it's stuck like that in my game too.

Aww yes your housecarl in Riften. What did you mean you had to level her?  As for Alduin I've yet to come across him. I guess I'm not that far into that part of the gme. Currently working on the DB quest line. Right now planning on killing the king. Image IPB
