The only one I like is Jenassa, but that's because I have a possible fetish for Skyrim's Dark Elves.

I wish there were more redguard options, though.

As for me I'm thinking of either marrying Njada Stone arm or Aela the Huntress both female Nords for the companions. Or Mjoll the lioness who you can pick up in Riften who is also a rord.

FallToo how many games you playing at once?

I like the ones that are available, though it's too bad Lydia isn't. Or Karliah. Or Byrnjolf. Or Gabriella (though I know that wouldn't work) I agree about the Redguards though. I don't know about the males but as far as I'm aware, there's only one female, and she's a priest.

Now if you're referring to Lydia your housecarl in whiterun you can marry her.but as far as the other two I don't think that you can marry them

Yes I agree, they should have more RedGuard options. I don't really find that fair, IMO. But at least the options they give you there really nice anyways, but it would be nice to have more options.:)

And gosh dangit I want to marry Brynjolf sooo bad. I mean hes the only person who calls you Las if your a female.
God why cant people be like Byrnjolf?:?

EDIT: Also you can marry Lydia , but her marriage usually glitches a lot.
And I would also like to Marry Karliah too. Shes pretty cool too. Not Brynjolf cool though:lol:

Will have to admit that I've yet to see any wood elves in the game to marry. I think Bethesda forgot about us.Image IPB  Thinking about marrying one of three Nords though.

Aww yes your housecarl in Riften. What did you mean you had to level her?  As for Alduin I've yet to come across him. I guess I'm not that far into that part of the gme. Currently working on the DB quest line. Right now planning on killing the king. Image IPB

MrCrusty What is LARP'ing if I might ask?

It actually means Live Action Roleplaying, but in the context of videogames, I see it as non-mechanical roleplaying, or using your imagination to invent content/plot points in-character in order to cover up flaws.

The Thieves Guild is typically Essential/unkillable. That doesn't mesh well with my character concept (utilitarian War Cleric with an ego) who believes that the Guild represent an unwelcome extra factor of corruption that a) directly encourages a criminal culture in Riften (and elsewhere) and B) causes significant logistics issues for the war effort (as palms need to be greased, shipments go missing, etc etc).

A good roleplaying game would allow me to undertake a quest to wipe them all out (like they did with the DB), or even do it without a quest and have the game react to those actions of mine (though ambient dialog, reputation changes, shifting around details in particular quests, etc). I'd have thought with Bethesda's Radiant System, this would be more prevalent. It's getting there (much better than Oblivion) but still lacking compared to say, New Vegas.

In either case, since it doesn't allow or recognize that, I basically invent content in my head. I raided the Ratway and executed the scum, reasoning that people don't talk about it because most aren't involved in the underworld and those that are don't want to talk about it. When the reality is I downloaded a macro that removed Essential status and the game has nothing to offer in terms of reaction regarding that matter.

So, LARPing.

It can also extend to other things, like how a Thief can become the Arch Mage and you reason that the College isn't looking for a good Mage, it's looking for a leader, hence why they're okay with a person who can barely use Magic. Or why you can be head of every "Guild". Or why being a fully fledged Imperial/Stormcloak doesn't net you a big reaction when in the strongholds of the opposing faction - you could reason that you're Dragonborn or that their information is dodgy but the fact is the game doesn't acknowledge it.

Or on this forum, pretty much 2/3rd of Dragon Age 2's timeline requires a comatose Hawke, or some form of LARPing where you pretend that Hawke was political or w/e.

Personally, on the issue of Empire/Stormcloak reactivity, I would've liked to see something where ambient dialog is more hostile and aggressive and shops charge you more. You don't really need to change any quests, but have at least something that says being the Empire's best buddy in the middle of Windhelm has at least some consequences.

I just know that I would rather be able to marry one of the NPC's you actually get to interact with a little (like Brynjolf), rather than just some of the random folk strewn all over the country. Or that you at least get to have SOME sort of conversation before the marriage option appears. Take Marcurio, for example - no need to even leave the room when the potential groom himself is handily located at the inn in Riften! You get the Amulet of Mara, pick up a conversation with him, and hey presto! you end up in front of the altar just a day later. That's romance for you right there.
Oh, right - in Skyrim it isn't about romance. But I wouldn't have thought it was about picking up the next best guy from the street, either. xD Not that it bothers me too much, since the focus during the whole game is clearly not on NPC interaction.

On a sidenote: what really irritates me as an archery-oriented character are two things: 1) I can't shoot arrows over fences or ropes, even if they're only knee-high. 2) If I've got a warrior as a companion, in combat he will always position himself between myself and the enemy in a way that I cannot aim properly without shooting the NPC instead of the enemy. It's mind-bogglingly irritating! D:

Mrcrusty I thought thats what it was but wanted to have it clarified to make sure. I do the same thing as well. You see I used to play PNP DND back 35 years ago before computers even came out.<G> I know what a shocker right.<LOL> But I do the same thing. I liked how you had the choice to end the Db. The one part for which I didn't care for in the game so far was the Canniblism<sp?> quest. I believe its one of the Daedric quests if I'm not mistaken. So thats one Achievement I won't be earning this time through<LOL> and possibly the one for having 1000 septum bounty on your head in all 9 towns or what is it. Then again I might after all I've yet to finish up the DB yet.

I wouldn't mind seeing a DLC where you could to and rid the Thalmor infuence in Skyrim all together. When ever I see them out and about I do  my darndest to get then made enough to attack me. Including releasing their prisoner and helping him/her get away.<LOL>

BTW remember early on in the game when you had assasins coming after you? Weren't they sent by the Thalmor?

That's true with the Mercs, but there are quite a few NPCs which require some interaction and a quest (about unrelated things) before marriage. The Companions for example, can be married once you become Harbinger.

Just wait until you're an AOE Mage trying to get a group of bandits in a tight corridor from a distance when your Companion charges right into the middle of it.

Also, HAI SIENNA!!

I'm with you... That's pretty much my mind. Sometimes, I feel that some people are complaining for nothing. Or then, they need to explain what the hell was wrong with the main quest, because I fail to see.

And your Nord.. is lovely.

Thank you!  And yeah, I'd also like to know what people are complaining about.  The only wee gripe I'd have is that I wanted to see an aerial view of Skyrim from Odahviing's back!

Sienna- Thats one of the reason's for which I find it hard to run with a companion. As usually I'm the one to kill them via friendly fire from my bow. And it's not intentional it's due to the fact that they get right in between my shot or jump in front of me about the same time as I lose my arrow

Wow... wow... wow, just... wow... wow...

...wow! I just completed the Dark Brotherhood questline, and... wow. I knew what would happen at the end, but... wow!

Easily the best questline in the entire game, no contest. They could have made a completely separate game altogether for it, it was so freakin' epic...

...wow. Anyway, out of curiosity, who here killed Amaund at the end? I'm debating whether I should honor the old man's request and stab the guy in the kidneys or not. My gut instinct is that I should, just so the guy doesn't profit from the whole charade (I had my own reasons for killing the final target).

@ Crusty: Oh, right, the quests. As I see it they had better goddamn marry and cook me food now that I've traipsed across half the country to clean out the vampire-infested, booby-trapped
spook den in order to find their bloody 'take 3 puny points of fire damage family heirloom staff' or whatever other insignificant item has gone missing. xP

And HI TO YOU, TOO! :D

I couldn't agree with you more on the DB quest line as it was great. I'm still undecided whether or not I should kill him. I'm sure thinking about it though for the same reason for which you mentioned so that he can't profit from it.

To be frankly honest I wasn't going to do the DB when I started the game but then I figured why not I did everything in Oblion might as well do everything here at least once. Fallto keep us posted and let us know if Skyrim wins anything will you?

Sienna arent we in a fiesty mood.<G> But I know what you're saying after all you get paid most of the time more than what the thing is worth.<LOL>

It's funny you're all talking about Brynjolf as if he's this awesome guy while I'm here figuring out how to kill him in broad daylight without incurring a bounty since he's the last character to take out in my Thieves Guild extermination.

Its not just you. Without fail nearly every time I find someone interesting that I'd love to be marriable or a Follower they're not. Or worse, a cannibal. (Hi Eola)

It felt nearly criminal (pardon the pun) that none of the Thieves Guild could be Followers. Sapphire for example. She's tough, looks great, actually has an interesting backstory. All the rogue choices I could get are terrible.

The best option is the one who talks about cutting people as an artform. And she's not as cute as the cannibal. Image IPB

My best companion so far has been Illia. Good story, very useful in a fight, and is passibly sneaky for a non-rogue. Her follower code is buggy, but easilly fixed via console on PC, which can also make her marriable.

Jordis the Sword-Maiden does have me intrigued. She's cute with a great voice, and her name is pretty much the Nord Female version of Cutlass Jack. Which vaguely amuses me. But its hard to dress her interestingly, and stealth is going to be out the window with her. So will probably stick with Illia.
