Ya Buddy Skyrim got Game of the Year!

@Cutlass Jack

Ya I agree. My only follower is my husband, Farkas.
I don't get why they give the non-marriable characters, the best background stories, the looks and stuff. I find myself crying in the inside sometimes.

And I agree with Jordis. I love her voice, I also like Aela from the Companions.
I really like the Companion people
Dam what is with them people XD

I can't really find a good follower that fits me . I sneak alot, even though Im a warrior/mage.
I do have some part time Dark Brotherhood followers with me from time to time.

Yeh won GOTY and RPG of the year aswell as Bethesda won studio of the year. I'm happy with that.

I would have preferred that CDPR won PC game of year instead of portal though so there was only real dissapointment.

Good to see Felica Day too.

It's funny you're all talking about Brynjolf as if he's this awesome guy while I'm here figuring out how to kill him in broad daylight without incurring a bounty since he's the last character to take out in my Thieves Guild extermination.

What you've killed everyone in the thieves guild?! Didn't think that you could do that there to be honest with you.

I used a macro that removes the Essential tags from most of the NPCs, including Thieves Guild members. You aren't supposed to do it normally, but I dislike Essential characters. Still, I have to be careful and save often or I might break all sorts of quests.

You can find it here.

I even chronicled their end here.

Also just for funsies, Thieves Guild party aftermath,

Skyrim deserves the honor of game of the year, even if it's from the cheese dicks at Spike. I'm glad it won given the other nominees.

Wow... wow... wow, just... wow... wow...

...wow! I just completed the Dark Brotherhood questline, and... wow. I knew what would happen at the end, but... wow!

Easily the best questline in the entire game, no contest. They could have made a completely separate game altogether for it, it was so freakin' epic...

...wow. Anyway, out of curiosity, who here killed Amaund at the end? I'm debating whether I should honor the old man's request and stab the guy in the kidneys or not. My gut instinct is that I should, just so the guy doesn't profit from the whole charade (I had my own reasons for killing the final target).

I killed him. I simply saw it as another contract, and even if it wasn't - it proves that the Dark Brotherhood holds power. Also, the emperor wasn't whiny - but faced his death with dignity. Why wouldn't I accept his request?

Yeah, I went ahead and gutted the guy as well - there was sort of a mutual respect between the Emperor and I that compelled me to carry out his final wish.

I kind of regret not speaking to the Emperor. I just went in with my "silent assassin" thing going on. I should've told him I'd consider his request just to give him more peace of mind before his death.

No matter, though - Titus Mede II is dead, and the Empire is further crippled, as was my aim all among. Time for the Stormcloaks to finish the job and kick the Empire's ass out of Skyrim for good.

While I did enjoy the dark brotherhood storyline (and would even agree that it is amongst the more "story" heavy questlines) I wouldn't call it the best. Like all guilds the story zips by far too fast even if you pad it with generic jobs and the actual assassinations themselves don't require much thought. Still I agree it was indeed a great questline.

On that note I just had a great mini adventure with my new character. I am currently roleplaying as a curious breton mage-woman named saulia, who along with her trusted hired bodyguard janessa, was wandering through the wilderness on her way north toward the college. Along the way she came across a lonely cabin in the middle of the woods with a garden outside.

A little low on supplies and welcoming the opportunity for company, saulia entered the cabin hoping to barter for supplies and perhaps make a friend. However, much to her horror, the moment she entered the cabin the resident of the cabin (a male dumner in black robes) immediately turned hostile and began casting all sorts of insidious magick against her and janessa.

Now Saulia isn't very skilled in magical duels, having trained herself in the mystic arts she was always used to fighting and defeating the superstitious and other weak self trained mages such as herself, and if she ever did encounter a serious threat janessa was always there with her spinning blades of morbid art to protect her. However this mage was different. He was skilled in the art of cold and he radiated ice and snow from his very body, and to top it all off he was a dumner like janessa who are a hardy people resistant to flame, which just happens to be the only art saulia is well versed in. With a few flicks of his wrist the man forced janessa down to her knee's despite her brave attempts to gut him where he stood.

Desperately saulia sent a stream of hot flame over his body only to gasp in horror as it rolled right over his body into his shelf of alchemical ingredients. With an evil sneer he responded in kind with bolts of cold causing saulia to duck into cover behind his stairwell.

From this position saulia was able to trade fire with the ice mage but the battle was going badly. He was not tiring at all and saulia was ever weakening with each hit the enemy was able to land and poor janessa was unable to aid in any way. Desperate for a way to combat this mage and knowing her life would be forfeit without a miracle, saulia reached toward her back and was shocked to feel the icy touch of cold steel.

It was a greatsword! A fearsome weapon she had collected from a pack of foolish thugs who sought to teach her a "lesson" earlier that day. The weapon seemed to howl for blood in her grasp, and with no other solution in sight, she whispered a prayer to the gods above for guidance and leapt toward the mage screaming foul murder, and as much to her surprise as the enemy mage's, the sword sank deep into his flesh causing a VERY visible wound on his body.

Not to let this opportunity pass saulia followed through with her strike, and another, and another, fighting exhaustion as it took all her stamina to swing the heavy weapon. Yet her plan worked and the sword, almost with a mind of its own, felled the mage even as he worked his deadly magic upon the poor girl.

With the high of battle still upon her saulia collapsed into her fallen foe's study and checked upon janessa and found her unharmed from the fray. Shocked into disbelief that the ploy worked Saulia was forced to admit she had learned a lesson today, one that humbled her and made her respect the nords and their way of battle she had once mocked as "uncivilized" and "barbarian," and by ysmir Saulia was going to take this to heart!

That's a bit of a gray area - but since you assassinated the Emperor, you may as well support the Stormcloaks. It doesn't make much sense to me from a RP perspective to assassinate him as a supporter of the Empire.

Some might worry about Ulfric's uprising playing into the hands of the Thalmor, but my character is fast becoming the most powerful individual in Skyrim - I am Dragonborn, lead both the Companions and the Dark Brotherhood, am working my way up the ladder in the Thieves Guild, have the undivided attention of Skyrim's future king, am the Thane of several Holds, and so much more.

Hell, at this rate, I could take down the Aldmeri Dominion by myself. LOL.

I play a thief not an assassin. Jenassa bothered me before she finished introducing herself. If I were playing the sort who'd be fine with someone like her, I'd probably go with Eola instead. Though admittedly, Jenassa eats at better restaurants...

You could easily roleplay it either way. For example you could, if you felt that way, join the empire to atone for killing the emperor. Especially if he seemed an honorable man.

I'm really loving having Ilia again as my companion. I used her briefly with my first char. Gave her an Ancient Nord Armor set and she looks just like Aela on it! hehe Plus she's a powerful mage, a real plus for a melee char. And unlike Marcutio, she doesn't use lighting so she doesn't hurt me with her spells.

I gave Marcutio to Boethia after killing all her cultists. I might gave Ilia to Mara, if you know what I mean.

Illia has managed to impale me in the back a few times with her ice spikes, but overall she's been very compatable with my playstyle. She works very well in Rogue gear, so I've been treating her as an honorary member of the guild.

I just suffered....EVERY SKYRIM PLAYER'S WORST NIGHTMARE

Now this is a bit odd, and hopefully support can help me resolve it because I'm right confused.

Ahem...

So my PC more or less needed a reformat, so I backed up all my data on flash drive, reformated my disk, installed windows and loaded up, used gamesave, continued on....all was well , now I had to reauthorize steam and all that jazz so it thought it was differnt PC, although recently I  "finished" the reformat process which caused me to delete?!? my system data, it was that system thing where you can load out of the box experience or w.e....regardless, now I load steam back up, it only erased all my doc/files, didn't erase my steam games on hard-disk (this is the sys thing I refer to), now  the ODD PART is I load up Skyrim, and I see the save file from before I reformated there.....I assume this is the steam cloud BS, now I wonder would there be any way to get my steamcloud save from the alternate account, how/where is this stuff stored. And does Bestheda have a specific tech support thing to help me here.

Short Version: I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an errow to the knee. And my skyrim saves were lost, many adventures, many times goofing around end game stuff at an extremely low level, lol, I need help knowing if it is gone forever or if their is something I can do.

Anyone else have a bug where Alduin tries to ressurect a Dragon, instead flies away.... and the energy pillar remains there till the end of days?

Yep, came across him west of Whiterun, he started chatting to me and I Fire breathed him. He took off and I've now got a named skeleton dragon that can't be hit and a column of magic going up into the sky.

Accidently overwrote my previous quicksave and the last save-slot I had was too far back so it's stuck like that in my game too.

I just went back through that area and saw a dragon in the distance circling above where the skele-dragon was. Ran there and obviously Alduin had been back and finished the job. Dragon flying was that un-finished dragon. Column was gone and I killed it and took it's soul.

I seem to have run into a little problem - I've got a 1500 bounty in Solitude, but the option to bribe the guard doesn't appear - I can only pay the fine, go to jail, or fight my way out. This shouldn't be the case, as I'm a member of the Thieves Guild. It's pretty frustrating.

Oh well if you're that picky about the mercenaries you hire... lol

She is an awesome sneak and extremely badass.  I have a bit of a girl crush on her.  Though due to the leveling issue I might change her for someone else eventually.  After hearing how Erik the Slayer got his name, I'd like to take him along sometime.  He's a hunter type so might work for you.

Have you done the unique Solitude quest? It's either that, or your fine is so large that you can't bribe the guards.

Which makes sense, as letting a murderer go would end your career as guard. ^_^

Anyone aware of a glitch with the Critical Shot perk on Archery? I swear I've taken it not just once but twice, but it still shows as 0/3.
