Err, well... I sort of killed the Emperor's decoy, three of his guardsmen, and what's-his-face who Astrid sold the DB out to. Killed him in broad daylight on the docks in fact, before boarding the Emperor's ship.
Speaking of Astrid... wow, that part of the DB questline made me sort of sad. I liked Astrid, and seeing her stoop to that level... and seeing her burnt up and pleading for death... broke through this cold heart of mine and made me feel remorseful for a change.
Say... who here spared Cicero? I was going to put him out of his misery, but that ghost guy you can summon convinced me not to.
I found myself in another pickle instead.
Deciding to take the Contract as a priority and did not wish to jepordize that assignment with additional security, the personal revenge bonus on the Commander had to wait. But when I tried to do just that, I was unable to follow through because of increased guard patrols... underwater; my first real bug; rather funny one at that.
Being forced into almost the same legal decision had my PC paying the fine, then thanks to a posting in the Wiki, I simply visited the docks as a newly reformed member of society, and watched the Commander lose his cool when he saw that I was alive and well. So when I sent him into the cold waters with Unrelenting Shout and finished off his bobbing, armored form with a well placed volley of arrows, not a single guard witnessed or interfered, and I was able to later join Solitude as a home owner and Thane.
It was worth every coin....
