Or you can use a bow. Stay at a distance and on higher ground when possible. Use sneak attacks. When detected walk backwards when they run to you and keep firing. No need for the best armor that way.Yrkoon wrote...
FYI for anyone who cares, After extensively playing two warrior builds, a dual-wielder and a 2-hander, I can confidently say that 2-handers are more powerful, both early on and later on. Even aside from damage output - With a little practice, you can learn to make great use of your reach advantage against just about any man-sized opponent who uses one handed weapons against you, including Draugr death lords. That is to say, at any level, you can place yourself in a position where you can hit them and they can't hit you. Very useful early on when you haven't gotten yourself good armor and you're still squishy.

Absolutely. As an archery-based rogue with incredibly high sneak (+ added Vampire abilities) I could walk into any dungeon in my smallclothes and still come out alive. :/ I guess shooting enemies out of the dark doesn't appeal to everybody, and I also miss close combat sometimes (the closest I'm getting being taking people out from behind with my daggers), but archery + stealth can easily get you out of most situations without a single scratch.

I couldn't agree with you more on this here. As I've went through several areas and fully cleaned them out without taking any damage what so ever. And I don' t even have the vampire abilities. Just a high sneak and high archery skills.<G> Not to mention the fact that my boy does a standard 500 damage without sneaking and with the triple damage for sneaking that I get most enimies are one shoted and their dead.<LOL>

So what you do with that is use the multiple Runes you can now use, and combine that with good placement and some ingenuity then you can setup powerful enemies (or groups). You can use the linear corridors to set up stages of Runes, with the final Rune occuring just when the space opens up with you setting up in advantageous positions.

If they get that far.

Mind you, this mod also boosts the Spell power for NPCs too. Fair is fair, right? So don't be surprised at being one shotted by some spells, especially when enemies Dual Cast.
Then again, I'm playing a War Cleric (Des/Res/Alt/1H) so I don't mind closing in and giving people the taste of an Ebony Mace.

Though I do question the possibility for clean decapitations using a mace... oh well. I don't hear Brynjolf complaining.

Now one for which I'd love to see is one that expands on the smithing and allows you to make your own arrows. If you come across one like that there please by all means post the link as I would love to be able to make my own arrows.

I was pleased to find out that someone from Bethesda liked Anne Rice's Lestat and used some lines from it for dialogue in the game.
Someone else mentioned that as well to me. At least it shows they have good taste at Bethesda now don't it.<G>

Mr. Crusty to be honest with you I didn't know that there were any mods out as of yet. I know that the tool isn't due out til Jan from what I've heard. Like the one that you're talking about only thing is I don't use magic to be honest with you there.

and

I use those two. There's also:

But it seems too unbalanced and not really lore friendly. The modder for that is talented though.

OMG... I just brewed some +35% Enchanting and +140% Smithing Potions. (I had read that 32% and 136% were max? OR I read that wrong?) And with Alchemy far from 100, well, not that far... but still... I'm going to craft and enchant all my gear again! And make some special thieves/assassin gear too, since all I have left of skills to raise are those and magicians but I ain't a mage. hehe
Are you kidding me? I guess I'm going to have to go back and try that again myself to be honest with you there. After all I didn't try it any more once I had the 32%. We might just have to see how high we can take it to.<G> And to think I was going to put my high level character on hold and start a new low level either Redguard or Imperial.
EDIT:
Mr. Crusty- Will have to admit that it sure didn't take long for you to post me some links now did it.<LOL> I like a man that takes care of business.<LOL> Thanks.

Oh, I didn't see your warning before I got it, and I did get that bug. Oh well, that is one bug I can live with. The "my thane" business gets old and in a small house they just get in the way.
True enough. And I think Iona is the one houscarl that you can't put into the Blades for some reason. At least her usual 'sitting' spot is not in the bedroom like Lydia. Its the one thing I really like about Jordis and the Solitude home. the downstairs she usually sits in is so large that you can often enter without her recognizing you as her Thane.
In fact she often gives me illegal entry lines when I walk in. "You shouldn't be in here friend."
I think I love her.

And well, since I was brewing stuff with my 5 items +29% Alchemy, I started crafting a few potions to replace what I carry. My Invisibility Potion which also gives Regen health is now at 145 secs Invis and +181% Regen for 300 secs. Cool, right? But my point is, brewing those strong pots made my alchemy reach 100 in no time. It was like 6 of those for 1 whole alchemy level! The stronger the potion we brew, the faster alchemy raises!
Not bad that I had some 500 lbs in ingredients in my chest at my Riften lab!

Fortunately Shadowmere causes some chaos from time to time when a cell we fast travel to has been reset. As soon as I dismount she is on her way to her first victim and I have to use my sword.

If I'm feeling too lazy to take out crowds I just use my Agent of Subterfuge power and make them do all the work. I can't wait to start abusing the Throw Voice shout I just picked up.
Shadowmere's aggression sounds similar to Frost. Which is why I opted out of taking that horse and stuck with a normal one.

I am a stealth warrior now. Reached that at about level 40. It's great. I feel like a one man army. First I have to get Shadowmere out of the way to prevent detection. Then I move to higher ground near the cave or building and take out anyone outside one by one. The same goes inside. I can now recognize a draugr mimicking a corpse. Taking those out is easy. Even groups of enemies are relatively easy by luring them one by one out of the group. Shoot. Hide. Rinse and repeat.

@Rage- I know that it sure don't take long to get yourself up to the 100 mark with the alchemey, enchanting or the smithing. I think in just a short quick time of making Iron weapons and armor I was @ 90 which is what I needed for making my Daedric armor and weapons. Of course Now I'm at 100 and can make Dragon armor might have to check that there out. I'm still thinking of Starting a new run though though.<G>
@AngryFrozenwater what damage does your bow do if you don't mind my asking?
EDIT:
@Weedyfun- How much damage does your Daedric bow do currently? Mine does just over 500 without the triple damage for sneak bonus.<G>

Another note, powergamers are crazy rofl. Maybe it's because ya'll playing on Master, but I'm doing absolutely fine with my ~65 damage Ebony Mace here on Expert (level 37).

Heh yeah I wondered about that myself. I'm seeing these incredible numbers on weapons on this thread and its hard not to be jealous, but to be honest I'm killing everything near effortlessly without going to such crazy extremes with my dual swords (80ish damage each)

Shadowmere is crazy useful, but he often butchers my stealth so I was looking into replacing him by buying a horse that is less aggressive.
Thing is, I like his design so I was wondering if there's a way to get him back in case I start to miss him.

It's probably not the best bow around, but it does 107 damage, plus freezes the target for 25 and shocks the foe for 12. Because I have stealth 100 and a bonus stealth enchantment of 10%, plus my armor muffles movement and my sneak skill doesn't penalize detection by movement, it means that I am near undetectable. Sometimes foes cannot detect me when they stand in front of me and facing me. So nearly every shot will be a sneak attack with triple damage. When I face too many foes at once I have a power which makes me invisible for 120 seconds whenever I sneak (once a day). I can also face my foes with a sword. My armor gives me double damage for one handed weapons and sneak attacks do 6 times damage (so that's 12 times with that armor bonus) or 15 times with a dagger. That's the leather Ancient Shrouded Armor and I am sticking with it.Redneck1st wrote...

Yeah +32% and +130% are max you can get in normal way(4 items).
With this exploit you are using it is possible to make even stronger potions +37%, +147%

Crusty- Ok it took me a little bit of searching to find the folder to put the file in. I've checked it out and have a question. Where in the heck do we get Hawk feathers from? Especially 100 of them? I've seen maybe 1 or 2 if I remember correctly.
