True that.

I ended up liking Maven alot more than I expected. She was nice enough to attend my Guildmaster ceremony, and was funny running into her at the Thalmor party. Shame I couldn't marry her Daughter. But then again as understanding as she was about stealing her horse, I think she'd draw the line there.

Ingunn the crazy poisoner?  Even my assassin thinks she's creepy.  lol

LOL. I guess me and Jack are the only ones who dig the bats**t crazy women of Skyrim. Cannibal girls? Check. Serial poisoners? Check.

Well the great thing about women like that is that they put it all out there for you. They don't even try to hide it.  Image IPB

Its the 'normal' seeming girls you have to wonder about what they're really not telling you. "Sure Ysolda, I'll get you that Mammoth Tusk. Nothing at all odd about that."

I had just exited Breezehome when I heard a scream coming from the market place. Belethor's body, lifeless at the wood chopping block on the side on his shop. A murder in Whiterun! And who arrives not two minutes later and begins chopping wood as if nothing has happened? Sigrud the assistant!

Has this happened to anyone else? More importantly, does someone take over Belethor's shop?

OMG!  Are you serious? Not Belethor!!!

Yes, and I have no idea how or why it happened. Can NPC's actually murder each other? Perhaps the Dark Brotherhood was involved. Anyways, seems I have one less merchant to sell to now. His shop is always locked up. Shame.

NPC's certainly can murder each other. I came across some Thalmor NPC's slaying a tiny village east of Markarth because they were "worshippers of Talos" and "must pay for their blasphemy". Those Jusiticars laid waste to a poor man running for his life because he wanted to express freedom he had and apparently ignored the ban on Talos worship.

He died a horrible death in a heap. Face down. Murdered.

I'm not good or bad, really, kind of in the middle (seeking my own power for my own benefit), but I have disdain for Thalmor, as their conceitedness is an affront to my own aspirations.

I just did Lights Out.

I then ended it by picking off the mooks of the guy one by one.
With ebony arrows.

Can you imagine the pure terror going through someone's mind seeing his friends getting picked off one by one with arrow after deadly arrow taking them down?

Also doing the theives guild quest line I think that Delvin is my most liked guy in the guild...least the most friendly off them bloody Dirge.

When I did Lights Out, I did a flying leap across a chasm to land dramatically on the roof of the ship-building and dropped down on my target skipping all his men.

I was incredibly disappointed at the lack of snappy dialogue after that grand entrance.

Delvin is a good guy. Vex is fun too. I love the Thieves guild as a whole except for Dirge.

An armor rating of 1366 doesn't make sense. It is capped at 567 or so. 567 or higher only protects 80% of the damage. So 20% passes through, even if you have a million.

That's true.  But keep in mind that often times, enemies have the same weapon perks as you do.  If you're facing, for example,  a bandit/bandit chief who's using a mace or warhammer, and has the adequate perks, his attack gets to ignore up to 50% of your armor.  And that's when having an armor rating above the cap comes in useful. with ~1000 armor, you're still going to shrug off 80% of the physical damage

Explain it to me again. It just doesn't enter my brain. Sorry. If I understand it correctly when you have an AR of 1000 then 20% of the damage still comes through. The same goes for an AR of 2000. So, besides having the fun of a high armor rating there is no additional advantage. You will be getting more than 20% of the damage if the AR is less than 567, right?

Edit: You mean to say that 50% of your current AR (1000 in your example) is taken and not 50% of 567? I've read that this needs verification on the wiki's talk page.

The latter, if I understand you right.

Let me see if I can explain it clearer.  At 567 armor, you're at the cap (you'll only take 20% damage from blows)  But, with a few perks in mace/warhammer wielding, someone will be able to  ignore 50% of your armor and hit you as if your armor rating was only  283  (half of 567).  At 283 armor, you're taking a lot more than just 20% of  damage from blows, yes?

With an armor rating of 1200, someone with a few  perks in mace/warhammer wielding (being able to ignore 50% of your armor), will  be hitting you as if you had 600 armor, but since an armor rating of 600 is still beyond the cap, you'll still only take  20% damage.

I have another weird problem. The fletcher in Whiterun doesn't reset his store at all. Even if I stay away for longer than a day. Even tried 3 days. He used to reset his shop after 24 hours.

Anyone has an idea what I am missing?

Merchant item restocks are wonky.  There doesn't seem to be any pattern or  methodolegy behind it.  I had the same "problem" with Belethor selling Ebony Ingots when my levels were in the teens.    at first I'd be able to go to him every 24 hours and buy an ebony ingot.  Then he'd go a few days without having any..... then he'd have one in stock again, then a week would go buy where he had none.... then he'd have one, then the next day he'd have *2*.

Arcadia, the Whiterun potion merchant, will  have a Daedra heart for sale every 3 game days.... that is,  untill you get your smithing up  enough to be able to make Daedric gear.... then she'll have none.

"I'd sell my own sister if I could."  Ah Belethor, we hardly knew ye.

Oh, and I've having the same problem about the Drunken Huntsman being out of arrows.  They need to drink less and fletch more.

There are so many to choose from...  I like them all except the women, who are just b*tchy for no good reason (except Sapphire who's okay).  All the guys are cool.

Brynjolf is a category unto his own.

Any idea when DLC is coming up? I'm barely into the game and it seems I want more. I would want a DLC preferably about starting a war with the Thalmor or visit of province of the Akavir.

I am going to put good money down that we are going back to Solstheim, ala the Bloodmoon expac for Morrowind.

If you look behind the one werewolf in the Hircine quest its the bloodmoon, meaning Hircine is walking Nirn again, looking for the best to fight him.
Obviously that means the Dragon born being among them...and anyone he has not killed by that point.

Ya I agree, the girls are b*tches. I also really did like Mercer.  Until he almost killed me , thats when my heart broke and I hated him . Revenge is a pain in the boot.

And Brynjolf is so cool, that cool people are jealous cause he has his own catergory. :D

Uncertain, but perhaps an hour or so of rest is needed to reset Merchant inventories between cycles?

And the Thieves Guild quest was testing my patience, as I play solo for a reason; don't need for stealthy shadows to jump in front of my line of sight constantly. It got to the point where I let them take it, and sat back and let summons do the clean up sweep. At least Max Von Sydow would actually wait when told; these two open up closed doors to get into trouble.

Now for the finish....

Lately I have seen a lot of dead thieves laying about. As I walk around, they show up, attempt to break into a house and then they get slaughtered.

Awesome. Just awesome.

Clearing out a mine full of Draugrs for some guy near Sky Haven (just did Alduin's Wall) and I'm taking them out with Dawnbreaker instead of my usual Mace (since it only does 40 damage) because there's the special effect. Get this awesome kill animation I've never seen before.

She thrusts the blade into it's stomach and then she pulls the sword out, spins around, decapitating the Draugr. Then Dawnbreaker's effect kicks in and the resulting blast kills the other two Draugr in the room.

I hate to say it, because I tweaked the .ini to remove the cinematic kills in F3/FNV during normal play and this is basically the same. Not to mention the over the top action sequence combined with interruptible cinematics ought to make me annoyed. But that was epic. I am easily amused, it seems.

note: Yes, that is a very poorly fired arrow that's kinda sticking into my character.

I love the finishers- no idea why people are annoyed by them. That one looks fun.
