I think this time I am talking about a bug. It feels that way. The store does not reset. It still has all the stuff I sold and it still has the same amount of money (3 gold) as when I left it last. Even if I don't enter the shop for a week the store does not reset its gold and stock. Very odd.Yrkoon wrote...
Merchant item restocks are wonky. There doesn't seem to be any pattern or methodolegy behind it. I had the same "problem" with Belethor selling Ebony Ingots when my levels were in the teens. at first I'd be able to go to him every 24 hours and buy an ebony ingot. Then he'd go a few days without having any..... then he'd have one in stock again, then a week would go buy where he had none.... then he'd have one, then the next day he'd have *2*.AmgryFrozenWater wrote...
I have another weird problem. The fletcher in Whiterun doesn't reset his store at all. Even if I stay away for longer than a day. Even tried 3 days. He used to reset his shop after 24 hours.
Anyone has an idea what I am missing?
Arcadia, the Whiterun potion merchant, will have a Daedra heart for sale every 3 game days.... that is, untill you get your smithing up enough to be able to make Daedric gear.... then she'll have none.

And Maven is probably just keeping up appearances. If the idiots are that inept, they're cramping her style anyway.
True that.
I ended up liking Maven alot more than I expected. She was nice enough to attend my Guildmaster ceremony, and was funny running into her at the Thalmor party. Shame I couldn't marry her Daughter. But then again as understanding as she was about stealing her horse, I think she'd draw the line there.

Unlike Oblivion Skyrim usually will get rid of the items sold to the store. Really. Besides, it never resets the merchant's money. It is still 3 gold.Yrkoon wrote...
A store will never get rid of the stuff you sold them, so that's not a measurement.. I found The 'Ghost Blade' within the first 4 hours of my last playthrough and sold it to the weapon merchant in Riverwood. 120 hours later, he still has it.
But having the same Depleted funds after 3 days is probably a bug, yes. My advice: find another fletcher. There's a good one in Solitude.
Not the merchants I've been to in Skyrim. No.AngryFrozenWater wrote...

Interesting. In that case our games behave differently. That's all I can say. What about the 3 gold? Isn't that odd too?Yrkoon wrote...

BTW something funny and shamefull.
Was adventuring outside Whitefall, first day playing Skyrim so i was a bit "Nubish".
Found that outpost past Westernwatch tower and start to pick Bandits 1 by 1 with stealth&archery tactics.
After killing 2-3 i chose my next victim 2 of them was waiting on walls by the castles gate.
Shot him once, missed ,twice missed again then reload and tired this 5 to 6 times.
Then gave up on my archery skills and go melee for the kill but then relaiesd that i have been shooting lifeless targets all the time....
Try to relaise the amount of sheer shame i felt

About the AR thing. It still needs verification according to the wiki.

Let me see if I can explain it clearer. At 567 armor, you're at the cap (you'll only take 20% damage from blows) But, with a few perks in mace/warhammer wielding, someone will be able to ignore 50% of your armor and hit you as if your armor rating was only 283 (half of 567). At 283 armor, you're taking a lot more than just 20% of damage from blows, yes?
With an armor rating of 1200, someone with a few perks in mace/warhammer wielding (being able to ignore 50% of your armor), will be hitting you as if you had 600 armor, but since an armor rating of 600 is still beyond the cap, you'll still only take 20% damage.

I don't think it has. The last I'd heard, the 1.3 patch had been sent to Microsoft and Sony. I'm waiting for the XBox version, myself.
You can check Bethesda's blog for updates.
It should be soon; the last update posts were dated 12/6 and 12/7, and it typically takes about a week (I think).

I wouldn't even buy a house in Markarth were it not for the unnaturally vast bookshelf. Or so I'm told, anyway. If I get there and it's just a normal one, I may have to destroy the entire town.
I did find it amusing that Markarth comes up during the negotiations if you opt to settle the civil war through a truce. Ulfric, buddy. Trust me. You don't want anything to do with that place.

I tried turning Elenwen in a follower once using the console, but it didn't work out. When I spawned her in the middle of Riften, I couldn't engage in dialogue with her and she just went off walking back to the embassy.
Funnily enough, Morrowind has also a Elenwen who also happens to be an Altmer sorcerer.
Anyway, this is how to turn anyone (within reason) into a follower:1. Find the NPC you want to make a follower/marry. Open console with the tilde key. Click on the NPC. The NPC's ID will pop up when you click them, take note of the ID, you'll be using it later when you are setting relationship via console command.
If you want to marry the NPC type in: addfac 19809 1
If you want to make the NPC a follower type in: addfac 5C84D 1
2.
In order for the follow/marriage choice to appear, the NPC has to like you. To do this, you need to set the NPC's relationship level. To set the relationship between you and the follower correctly, you need to type in BOTH OF the following lines into the console.
Setrelationshiprank "NPC ID HERE" 4
Player.setrelationshiprank "NPC ID HERE" 4
3.
For certain NPCs, the marriage/follow options will not appear until you reset the NPCs dialogue options, to do so, type the following lines into the console.
Disable
Enable
4. If you just want to marry an NPC, you're done after the last step, the 4th step only pertains to people who are making NPCs followers. Inorder for some followers to fight enemies and instead of running around like idiots,
you need to set their confidence level. To do this, open the console, click the NPC, and type the following lines into the console.
setav aggression 1
setav confidence 3
5.
The last step you have to do is set your follower to essential, in order to do this you need to use the NPCs ID Number. To figure out the ID number you need to type the following into the console.
Help "NPCs Name" 4
This will give you the ID, along with a lot of other random data about the NPC, take the code you find and type in the line below.
setessential "The ID you found" 1
6.
You might find your new follower weak, and that's because your new follower does not level with you. Chances are they are a very low level and will die very quickly to anything that attacks them. The easiest way to remedy this is to open the console, click your follower and type.
setlevel "Insert level here"
After you complete step six, you're done. You now have your own essential NPC follower to do your bidding. Take note, if you do not set the NPC as essential, when they die, you may lose the NPC for good. Using resurrect
on the NPC via the console will bring the NPC back to life, but the NPC will no longer follow you and may disappear from the game completely. So far, I haven't found a way around this, so setting the NPC to
essential is a must.
Almost 150 hours here and still haven't visited Markath, Windhelm, Rorikstead nor Solitude.RageGT wrote...
