you do have the perk for glass armor right? becuase i am smithing lvl 71, and with a few echantments that give me a total of 30% smithing improvement, i can improve my orcish stuff to epic, wich is better than flawlessFoxHound109 wrote...
Alright guys, I need help because this is really starting to frustrate me: I can't, for the life of me, upgrade my glass armor past "flawless" and I have tried EVERYTHING.
- One site claims that I need smithing up to 100. It's there.
- Another claims that I need to have smithing up to 100 AND take fortifying potions to go above "140," which doesn't even make sense. But I tried it. Still couldn't.
- Another site claims that I need to have the "upgrade magical items" perk. I got it. Still nothing.
- Yet another site claims that I CAN upgrade already upgraded armor. Nothing.
- The helmet I found wasn't upgraded, so I had to upgrade it and even at 100 smithing it still only let me upgrade to flawless.
- You can't upgrade all armor, but apparently you can upgrade glass to legendary, because the TES wiki claims that glass armor is the best light armor because it has higher stats than the light dragon armor when fully upgraded to legendary.
- One site claims that "flawless" and "legendary" are the same, but some people have been able to upgrade their armor from "flawless" to "legendary," so this can't be true.
So I'm beyond confused here. I can't upgrade a single thing past flawless. Is my game glitched? D:

Looks te me like you are trying to improve glass armor without Glass Smithing perk (or this perk is bugged in your game)
With 100 in smithing and without appropriate perk "Flawless" is all you can upgrade given armor to.
You can see that in this table:
http://uesp.net/wiki...ng#Item_Quality
Where did you read that Glass Armor is better than Dragonscale ?

Blood and silver flow through Markarth. Blood and silver.
I'm hoping in this new playthrough I just started, that when I buy the house in Markarth, the weapon racks actually work. *crossing fingers*
Ugh, I hate Markarth. It's definitely my least favorite city in Skyrim - everyone in that town seems to be a huge douchebag, and all you ever hear about when you're there are the Silver-Bloods and the Forsworn. It gets pretty dull hearing those names after about five minutes.
Oh, speaking of Forsworn - why can't I go five minutes out in the Reach without getting attacked by a hoard of hot barbarian chicks in skimpy armor?
...oh wait, that's actually kinda awesome. Nevermind.

Based on my brief experience with Smithing, is it possible that the incorrect material was chosen for use? I almost used something else besides Refined Malachite due to color; perhaps the ore, and caught the error at the last moment.
And I have a couple of Legendary Glass Bows, and do not have 100 Smithing yet, so this may be a Bug in your system.

I finally got my smithing up to 100 and crafted the Dragon Scale armor. I kind of like it, actually. Not as much as Daedric, but it's ok. I didn't expect to like either of them, but I do.
Not a fan of the Dragon Plate, though.

you're right about the perk, as for material, i have no idea: i've only ever used the heavy armor perksFoxHound109 wrote...
Here's the thing: I have the glass armor perk, unless I'm missing something. The way it's set up in my game is that the create glass armor and the upgrade glass armor perk are the same one. You can't make glass armor without the upgrade, which lets you "upgrade it twice as much." If you unlock it to make glass armor, it should automatically unlock the upgrade glass armor perk. Or am I missing something here?

I didn't particularly like Daedric at first... until I first got on Shadowmere and rode it to the wintry wastes of Dawnstar. Then I looked like a BAMF - and rightfully so, for someone who was getting ready to assassinate the Emperor and take the reins of an elite force of assassins.
Dragon Plate though... yuck. Ugliest armor in the entire game, bar none (and it's weaker than Daedric despite having a higher Smithing requirement). I don't like Dragon in general anyway because Bethesda decided for some reason not to put Dragon weapons into the game along with the armor. Lame.

I've upgraded glass armor to legendary with the perk and I think without smithing being at 100.

I have trouble visualizing how clothes actually look on, so I usually make Ghorbash try things on before I do.
Yeah, where were the dragon weapons? Once I'd unlocked it, I looked through it, and scratched my head. Honestly, though, what would they look like? Those big blocks on a stick the giants use? They'd have to be something big and clunky like the armor. No thanks.

But... for the life of me, I just can't live with my character completing that mission. It's some seriously f***** up, repugnant s*** (as Jules from Pulp Fiction would say), and I think Bethesda might have even gone too far by putting it in the game at all. It's just so wrong on so many levels - especially if you listen to the "guests" chat before entering the dining room. Pretty horrific stuff.
Their coven is evil, and I must destroy it - mass-murdering Dark Brotherhood assassin or not.

You make a good point.
I did like how the Dragon Scale armor looked from the back, actually. Very reptilian. For some reason, the Dragon plate looks like a goat or sheep from the back. Baaah.
@Green - I did it. I went through with it, I admit it. I just wanted the Daedric artifact (Namira's Ring, which I don't ever use). It's actually kind of funny, because when you run into those people in town, you have a dialogue option to ask them about that dinner. You could just try to keep your own dinner down, literally, and go through with it, then kill each one of them later.

I'm surprised the people of Ivarstead are afraid of one lame ghost in the tomb outside their village, when the other tomb a few meters away is packed with Draugr Deathlords.
As a Bosmer, it makes sense. They are known for cannibalism.greengoron89 wrote...
On a side note: you know, I tried to actually complete The Taste of Death again yesterday. I was curious as
to how Eola worked as a follower - some others mentioned she could actually become a companion after the "feast" was over, and she kicked a lot of Draugr Deathlord ass when we swept out Reachcliff Cave earlier
in the quest.

At least, there is a way out with Namira. With Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal and Hermaeus Mora you must comply or you can never progress.
All Daedric Princes are kinda lamesauce in Skyrim, though. Except for Malacath. Loved his quest.

I didn't do what Dagon asked of me, though. Screw him and his Razor - he can stay in Oblivion where he belongs (and will forever remain) and rot for all I care. I didn't do Vaermina's bidding, either.

It's not the same crypt? Shroud Hearth Barrow? The one in town I investigated at Wilhem's request. I stopped the "haunting" and unknowingly he gave me the dragon claw key to the crypt as a reward. If not, what's this other crypt? I need to get to it.

And if you did, when you were banished to the mines, did you end up dual-wielding a pair of stupid pickaxes like me!!?? Man, what a difference that was to my pair of smithed-up, enchanted, Dwarven fire-axes. After I killed Madanach (who was a surprisingly accomplished mage--and took forever to kill with my new found weapons), and escaped into the Dwemer ruins, I did take the time to kill the 2 frost spiders, but admit, a bit further on, I had to sprint past the Dwarven Spheres because I was taking major damage (zero armor protection) and felt like I was swinging a feather at cast iron.
After I exited, got my pardon, met Mjoll, and got all my crap back, I did re-enter the ruins and proceeded to bash those Spheres to smithereens. I must say though, it was quite an interesting quest if you haven't done it. Epic brawl with Borkul the Beast, BTW.

I wanted to escape on my own but found it next to impossible as an archer to do so. So I followed Madanach and the Forsworn prisnors through the Dwemer ruins, let them kill eveything, got to the exit where Madanach gave me my equipment, welcomed me into the Forsworn, and gave me special gear - Armor of the Old Gods - then sniped him in the head with a daedric arrow, capturing his soul in the process, and strolled out of there.
