Anyway to side with the thalmor? (lol)
We have someone here playing an Altmer spy infiltrated in Skyrim. Not sure how much can he get some recognition by the Thalmor though.. hehe

Because all my PCs/laptops are pieces of crap that couldn't run Skyrim for anything?
*off to start a new character*

Madanach I don't put quite into the same category. I had hoped for more from the Forsworn quest line, tbh. Initially I was hoping there might be some compromise between the Nords and Forsworn against the empire, but Madanach is all RAWR and thus his sob stories carried no weight. At least for a Nord PC, I thought.
Aren't the Forsworn extremly anti Nordic? Leaving their chaotic evil tendencies aside I think it would make more sense for them to side with the Empire, before they would decide to fight with their sworn enemy who took away their land.
The forsworn are, or were Bretons, right?

It's not a matter of proof or not. You unfortunately don't even get an option to ask Ulfric about it. I'm just giving my interpretation. You're free to take a different one, but you've got no more "proof" than anyone else. I said that the whole document had a CYA and "we meant to do that" vibe- I didn't say "this is the way it is."Costin_Razvan wrote...

They claim that they let him escape. The whole document was written by Thalmor agents kissing up to their superiors, and the Altmer do not admit weakness or failure. What else are they going to say?Costin_Razvan wrote...
They let him escape, that's kinda the part you're missing.
And besides your bias do you have anything to argue against it? Any game proof?
The thing is that many people seem to take the dossier at face value, just as they take The Bear of Markarth or other books at face value without considering who's writing it and interpretive spin. People also seem to believe the Thalmor hype about them being infallible, unstoppable, etc. It's kind of ironic.

No instead I found that I enjoyed bowling with my sheild to much.
I kept doing it to the same people because I found it so funny.
It well worth the investment to get.

So...I just got the final perk in the Block tree.
Or as I like to call it the bowling perk.
Seeing bears, mooks, bandits, and anything short of dragons and giants go airborne is hilarious.
Almost cartoony since I can bounce a bear over my PC's head with it but the BONK sound effect is awesome.
*sigh* No. An interpretation I use as an interpretation.Costin_Razvan wrote...
An interpretation that you then use as a fact? Not happening.
You don't know that. The civil war was started by Ulfric, that's all we really know for sure because it is confirmed from multiple sources and not just Thalmor say-so.The Civil War was instigated by the Thalmor since it suited their interests, that it might not end the way they want it is another matter.
I'm not... distorting facts...? I have my view and you have yours. You seem comfortable with holding forth on your opinions confidently, but don't grant others the same.So yes, Ulfric is not a perfect man and I wish people would try and distort facts just to make someone look worse or better then they are, and as someone who argued for Loghain for months ( a much bigger black sheep then Ulfric will ever be ) then I can safely say you won't convince anyone with this kind of thinking.
Frankly characterization in the game is ****** poor comapred to Bioware/Obsidian/CD Projekt RED

I find it amazing how some people's standards of evidence so often boil down to 'if it makes Ulfric look good, it's in; if it makes Ulfric look bad, it's obviously lies and propaganda'.
Basically I don't think arguing over his issue nets any answers. You people have already made up your mind and are then sorting the facts to fit your conclusion.
It's up to Bethesda to decide the outcome anyway. *shrugs*

The same could be said of those who support the Empire - but you're right. It does feel like we're beating a dead horse, so I'll just drop out of the Empire vs. Stormcloak discussion for now.
Anyway, I just started a new game yesterday, and am going to skip Whiterun and go straight to Windhelm to join the rebellion - I'm curious to see how the game will play out if I depose Balgruuf before ever speaking to him about the dragons, and how the rest of the main quest will play out with Vignar as Jarl.
I liked Balgruuf, until he called me a milk-drinker. Them's fightin words. lolMecha Tengu wrote...
I sided with the stormcloaks but I felt really bad about exiling jarl balgruuf, because he helped me capture a dragon and was the first jarl to accept me

Vignar's not really a bootlicker, he jut despises that Barlgruuf just lay down and took the banning of Talos. Also Vignar Grey-Mane is a kind hearted badass.bleetman wrote...
I can't say I really like anything the Stormcloaks do to Whiterun. Putting an Ulfric bootlicker in the Jarls chair doesn't exactly fill me with optimism either.
What the Stormcloak supporters fail to understand is that the banning of Talos worship is just on paper (until Ulfric invited the Thalmor into Skyrim by openly defying the White-Gold concordat). Notice Heimskr preaching about Talos in Whiterun the entire day.KJandrew wrote...

Well poor old Madanach is now in Soverngarde! Seriously though its utterly insane what a back stab can do.
88 damage for the Blade of Woe X 30 from the Assassins Blade Perk X 2 from the Shrouded gloves.
So for a total of 5280 damage a hit nothing really stands up to that.
That is also not taking into account that I get a crit hit on 25% of those as well.
At level 49 nothing much besides those ancient dragons give me pause anymore.
Outside of those bastard Brierhearts.....Oh boy backstabbing them is cathartic.
