Who wants to go to Riverwood anyway? My PC is going to go there WAY later.
I want to see where this goes.

I've been playing my second character with the compass disabled. (in skyrimprefs.ini, I'm using this tweak: "bShowCompass=0" )
It's a lot of fun, as I'm actually finding locations through quests and by checking out location features from a distance, rather than rushing forward to unlock every new location icon that pops up on my compass as I tend to do.
You have to check your map and identify visual landmarks like hills, rivers, ponds, etc., in order to reach your destination. It's great but I imagine if I had done this the very first time playing the game it would have been very challenging to reach High Hrothgar.

I've only had that problem with those two retard Dogs that you can have as companions. And I said NO to that noise.Elhanan wrote...
No Companion quests for me, it seems. Will have to wait for another PC, as I am not fond of the path one must accept to be in the inner Circle. Was informed this was optional, but progress is based on a single response. No thanks....
BTW - what is it with almost any companion they wish to move so close to you that they actually push you into traps, off ledges, etc? Now this last time was rather funny, as I cannot trip certain traps, and am Immune to Poison; they were not....
Nothing, absolutely NOTHING, gets under my skin more than someone "pushing" my character when I don't want to move. I've been pushed off a cliff and to my death, not once, but TWICE. One time by Meeko, and the other time by Barbas.
***Minor Spoiler***
OMG! I am completely with you. I have had a few times where Vilkas pushed me out in the open but that was pretty rare. I have been running around for 6 weeks trying to find my dog. I have found the stray a couple of times but something always happens 5 seconds later and I have to reload only to not get the encounter again and I have missed out on picking him up.
I loved my Mabari so I was all ready for a dog companion. Plus I am a SWT and I figured a dog would be great to guard my home valuables while I was away.
Last night I went to Falkreath for the first time and ran into Barbas. By the time that quest was over I actually had to pause and think about whether or not to choose the "Ok I will kill him..." path.
That dog was THE most annoying thing in gaming history! If I ever run into another opportunity to get a dog follower I am going to call in the first Bandit I see and offer it up for stew.

My new pet: Gleda the Goat
She helps to tank enemies, her bites actually do some damage and she seems to be invincible from what I can gather. Plus she never pushes me off a cliff when standing behind me, unlike the dogs of Skyrim.
If you talk to her she whinnies and starts eating some grass.

I seem to have accidently killed almost everyone in Falkreath. I went into the tavern to rent a room and hear some rumours, next thing I know I'm being accosted by some goon in glass armour giving me jip. I had no choice but to decapitate him and it would have ended there if only Lydia wasn't waving around a lightning staff, which hit everyone but her target causing everyone to attack me, her and Meeko and well lets just say things ended badly for Falkreath. It gave me serious Rambo flashbacks, I only wanted a room for the night...
*LOL* I did that in Markarth, damn Thalmor was smug to me when all I wanted to do was find the mueseum. I just got into town and here he is telling me I am less than poo he would wipe off of his shoe. I went around the corner, got into my sneak mode (which is at 100+ with gear) and shot an arrow into his forehead. NO ONE SAW ME! and the next thing I know the entire royal guard is after me. I slaughtered just about everyone that was killable in Upperstone Keep. I hate that town anyway. I thought Solitude was bad with the smugness until I went there. Thank God for reload but I will have my revenge on the Thalmor eventually.
Btw, as for the gear conversation. Nightingale mixed with Guild Master Thief gear looks pretty awesome. And for a pure klepto DE Thief (after I got past the initial guilt I cannot stop myself) it works great. I just got the Smithing perk to upgrade magical armour and the stats are pretty awesome now. I keep multiple sets on me for different situations anyway (DA taught me that
I use a bow or dagger/BS with DBH Shrouded Hand Wraps most of the time so my Light Armour skill is only around 75 at lvl 54 cause everything is effectively one shot'd.

OK. 6h played in the last days, and I think I'm already a new fan of the Elders Scrolls franchise for the environments and soundtrack alone in this game. I'm not gonna mention anything else for now, gotta play more.
Six hours? Bem vindo à Skyrim! heh I'm crossing the 400 hours barrier today! Damn... we're in December 17th already? Last thing I remember is it was 11/11/11 and I got Skyrim!
PS.: I find it really funny when I do a sprint power attack with my greatsword and target reacts just like those people in town when we sprint run by them, with their "hey, watch it" and other similar responses, but in this case, just as they are about to die!

They seemed fine with me lopping that fools head off, infact it was some sort of scripted encounter and he drew first. The problems arose when that mental patient Lydia got involved shooting lightning everywhere and hitting bystanders. They weren't even attacking me until I decided I'd best join in for they are attacking my dog and murderous butler. I suppose I may reload because that was my first ever visit to Falkreath.Eglyntine wrote...

I think she is cool, but oh no Karliah is a total mary sue because she has purple eyes.
Kids these days overuse that term I think.

They don't just want to conquer and colonize, they want to remove humanity from all planes of existence and from even the possibility of existence. That's why it's so important to remove Talos first. He's humanity's anchor and protector in the mythic.Dave of Canada wrote...
I'm sitting here reading more and more about the Empire's history and reading how the Thalmor gained it's support and think... what's the difference? Why is the game trying to rub the Thalmor as these bad figures? They're conquerors, yes, though so is everybody else. The Empire was founded by the world being taken over by the Empire.
What's so different about the Thalmor other than their elves?
So yeah- LOTS of difference.
From here:
To kill Man is to reach Heaven, from where we came before the Doom Drum's iniquity. When we accomplish this, we can escape the mockery and long shame of the Material Prison.
To achieve this goal, we must:
1) Erase the Upstart Talos from the mythic. His presence fortifies the Wheel of the Convention, and binds our souls to this plane.
2) Remove Man not just from the world, but from the Pattern of Possibility, so that the very idea of them can be forgotten and thereby never again repeated.
3) With Talos and the Sons of Talos removed, the Dragon will become ours to unbind. The world of mortals will be over. The Dragon will uncoil his hold on the stagnancy of linear time and move as Free Serpent again, moving through the Aether without measure or burden, spilling time along the innumerable roads we once travelled. And with that we will regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit.

Hell anyone in the Thieves Guild really. I have done the most work for them, they are by far THE most interesting and I would give just about anything to marry Brynolf which again totally blows that you cannot.
Overall the intimacy with Followers/Marriage Prospects are my only real grip. There is no real depth there and given all of the amazing details they put into the game that is really the only thing that would push this game over the top for me. That and ppl actually recognizing and making note on a real lvl that you are the Dragonborn, Arch-Mage, Guild Master Of The Thieves, etc. I think Dragon Age spoiled me with companion and NPC interaction when it comes to wanting depth in that area.
I am 200+ hours on my first playthrough into this game, lvl 54 and I have not even scratched the surface of the content. I have not even started the Civil War quests or gone past Diplomatic Immunity so I am very impressed so far. I was not a big Bethesda fan. I watched my husband play Oblivion from time to time and was bored off of my chair but I have not been able to put Skyrim down. I have been totally sleep deprived for weeks now because as soon as the kids are in bed I am on the Xbox. *LOL*
I know there are issues/bugs but with all of the content it is very easy to move on to something else while we wait for it to be fixed and you do not feel like you are being put out because of the wait. At least in my opinion. Totally great game all around...

Dunmer dont count since they hold a different view on life from them, also the rumor that they helped the Argonians conquer them.
Altmer who dont live with them, or agree with them will be killed as well
They will kill off all the orcs (since they are elves too) since Orcs worship Malacath and dont agree with them.
They also conduct regular "purges" of other elves who they dont find to be in the right.
The Thalmor are not a nice group of people at all, and I think that much like the Dwarves were they represent what an abundance of EGO does to people.
Martin Septim did not save Tamriel, THEY saved Tamriel or at least their part of it.
Killing them just makes me happy, like killing Kaiser Buns Legion in FONV did.

They're pathetic.
I wonder if the Dwemer are ever going to return to "harvest" the lesser races like they did with the Falmer.
They still need to pick up their buddy from Morrowind anyway.

Is there a way to center the third person view? How am I supposed to make some good looking screens of my character if the camera forces him to the left side of the pic. To much empty screen
Use the console command "tfc"
But remove the crosshairs in the options first.
Meaning you get this:

Then just put tfc back into the console and viola your very own nice pic.

If you are playing on PC, just use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out. You can zoom out pretty far, which is kind of a bonus when traversing picturesque landscapes.
I have been playing about 90% of the time in third person, only zooming in to first person when using a bow.
EDIT: sorry I misread you question.
