How is everyone loving enchanting? I am having a blast with it, especially with the ability to re-name items. Here is my complete set:

Fear The Reaper: I use this for soul traping, put a soul trap on it.

Sword of Righteous Fire: Burns bad boys for 31 points.

Necklace of Love's Protection: Resto spells cost 25% less to cast, block is increased by 40%

Armor of The Lasting Healer: +62 health and resto spells cost 25% less to cast

Boots of Last Stand: +62 stam and +37 carrying points

Gauntlets of Hidden Energy: +62 magic and +37 carrying points

Moon Prism Power: Resto spells cost 25% less, +62 magic (it's the circlet thing you wear on your head)

Shield of Last Stand: +25% magic resistance, +62 health

The Bond of True Love: Resto spells cost 25% less, magic resistance +25%

Once the CK comes out I am going to make some good looking Pally armor with the same stats/enchants I have on the Daedric bull****. If you could not tell, this is my Paladin character.

A Paladin, wearing Daedric gear? More like a Fallen one then! =P

I tried to have cool names for my items but it made quite hard to find them when many things are listed on my Favorites quick menu (Q), so I made it simple and easy to find as they would shouw grouped together in the list.

Like Rage's Armor, Rage's Greatsword, etc. All Ebony for a true Paladin! =)

Oh, you might want to purchase or brew some Enchanter's Elixir and Fortify Enchanting potions.

With the elixir (+25% enchanting power), you can get Health, Magicka and Stamina increased by 70 points i/o 62. I love round figures. hehe

With my fortify enchanting potions (+35%) I could have +74 each but I used those for Aela's only. Again, I love nice round figures for my char (650HP/370Stamina with his items)

My Armor Rating with my Ebony full set, including helmet for the +armor bonus, is 1400 on the dot! More than enough since the cap at 80% Damage Reduction is at 657 AR like many have pointed. Still, nice to have it hight since there are some "ignore 50% Armor" items that enemies may use against us. Sure, Daedric can be even higher but the set looks ugly... and it smells! (I might use it on a evil char though =)

The Thalmor could certainly close gates down much like the PC did in Oblivion but it was Martin who stopped them from EVER being opened like that again and cast Dagon back into Oblivion, well with a little help from Akatosh.

Seems like that was quite a pyrrhic victory since the end of the Septim line has meant the empire's gone downhill ever since.

Finally got to use shield charge against the enemies I hate most in this game: necromages and ice/fire mages. Hitting three at one time in a single charge and watching them scatter like bowling pins, while they're spam attacking me, was...satisfying. They have been my nemeses since the beginning.

EDIT: Just went bowling for dollars with a pair of ice trolls.  What a hoot!

Great to hear!

I'm hard at work developing my Block skill in order to get that perk.

Shields are for wussies! Greatswords to rule them all! =P

I just went from 211k to 175k gold. Bought and decorated the house in Solitude. It was expensive but hey, I'm rich and the house was well worthy it! hehe

Windhelm's is the last one to acquire but I couldn't get to be allowed to purchase it yet, this run.

Do you think you would enjoy the game more if it was a lot more difficult to become rich?

My companion Aranea suddenly refuses to wear decent clothes... She runs around in her underwear for quite some time now. I reloaded when she died, and since then she has no robes on. Not the robes I have given her, and not her default robes. She still wears boots, gloves and the morokei mask, but not robes. I already took my robes from her inventory and gave them back, restarted the game... she is still half naked. xD

I ran into this issue with Jenassa and Aranea, I had Jenassa go back "home" and then re-hired her and this seemed to fix the problem with her and I never had it again. With Aranea, she fixed the issue after I took her to the Mage College in Winterhold. But if it does not work for you, you could try sending her home and picking her up again. Make sure that you take all of the gear off of her that you gave her because I did not do this with Jenassa and some of the gear disappeared.

It is a known bug listed on the Bethesda site.

Also listed on there is the Naked Courier bug, which is slated to be fixed in January.

If you have not already and you happen to have a genuine bug that is not listed make sure to post the issue so they know what else needs to be fixed. Most of the bugs listed on the XBOX list are also happening on all other platforms so you might see some repeats. :)  Hope this helps.

LOL I had no idea it was an "official bug" - let alone scheduled to be fixed?

I thought it was simply some random funny occurrence.

Well it was that or see pretty much the devil massacare the entire world.
Much like how in Morrowind you bring the Tribunal down...leading to Morrowind being ****ed up very badly later on.

However it was that or have a mad demi-god turn EVERY LIVING BEING in a mutated husk of cancerous zombie.

Seriously, Am going to start leveling-up two-handed to push me over level 50.  Not much else I really want to level.  Been secretly eyeing Mjoll's Warhammer with some serious envy lately.

Druss99- One of the reasons for which I usually go solo. I will have to admit that sitting here picturing what you said about her going off rambo style with the staff was kind of finny.

@Naughty99 You still roaming around with that goat? I thought you finally returned her/him to it's rightful owner.

@Virumor Now she looks great. Like the armor she's wearing.

@Chunk-Why you want a penquin as a pet? After all Naughty has a goat.<LOL>

@RYU a whole 6h huh? I'm sitting here wondering where the last month has gone since I've have over 500 hrs into the game.<G>

Morvunskar...What a brood of vipers that is.

Arch Electromancer, Ascendant Conjuror, Naris the Wicked and a crapload of adepts, apprentices and novices. Most challenging fights I've had in quite some time. The Arch Electromancer took me from full health to a sliver with a single electric shot. Wasn't really expecting this much resistance when I was gleefully bowling their comrades over outside.

Guess they overheard me talking about how much a I hate mages.

Enchanting is awesome. I love running the statistics and trying to be creative with names. I'm levelling the Enchanting Skill aggressively right now and making elemental sets for when its needed. It's helpful when all robes have a low inventory weight and so does boots and gloves. Most rings are 0.1 as well. I'll continue to upgrade as my Skill in it gets better, replacing old sets with newer ones. I like taking Enchanter's Potions as well to help make a better enchanted item, of course. My mage is pretty friggin powerful....but I still find nice challenges at Level 39.

I'm 140 some odd hours in and maybe, just maybe, a little more than 1/3 of the way through my first playthrough.

I seem to be having a little problem: on my new file, I can't get Ysolda to give me her Mammoth Tusk quest. I've talked to her at various times of the day, different locations, after a level up, etc. but the option to start the quest never comes up.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I was going to but she is now my favorite companion!

I'm gonna try to keep her for the entire game. That might mean I can't complete the the drunk hangover quest, but for my previous character I did it without ever even encountering the goat, so I'm pretty there is another way to complete the quest.

good lord, 1200 pounds? You really did work for that gold! Your videos are always fun to watch, Rage.

Becoming rich too easily is kind of a pet peeve of mine but this has been a problem with every RPG I've ever played.

Skyrim seems to have some excellent gold sinks in the form of training, smithing materials (if you frequently upgrade all your equipment) and surprisingly, arrows!

I spent a crapton of gold on arrows for my previous character. I would routinely buy every arrow in town and sometimes waste hundreds trying to get the attention of a dragon. Most of the time I miss when firing arrows at moving dragons.

As a result, I was pretty broke from the beginning up to about level 30 or so. Each time I would earn a few thousand gold, I would spend it all on smithing materials and arrows. Later, when I got up closer to level 40 I bought the house in Solitude and upgraded everything.

My current character is a Nord barbarian type who thinks arrows, lockpicking, enchanting and alchemy are for cowards, so I have been mainly spending money on smithing materials and occasional health potions. I tried to avoid buying any magic items as it's a bit more rewarding when you find the item in a dungeon.

Knowing that I as a player can pick any master lock makes it tempting to try, but I have been using Lydia (who can pick up to Expert level locks). When I started out, I was using Sven, who can only pick beginner locks.

 Hmm....

You know, ever since I stumbled upon the stronghold/cabin of the Stendarr followers - and found a Daedra Heart (lol)  just laying there  on  one of the tables inside -  I began giving that concept a lot of thought.:

Should  a sworn slayer of Daedra ever wear  Daedric Gear?   The conclusion I came to was:  YES.   It's a trophy of the hunt.  Just like a dragonslayer who kills a dragon then makes  a suit of armor out of its scales.  Doesn't mean he's suddenly  "evil"  like the dragon who's scales he's wearing.

Just my thoughts  on the matter.  In all honesty though, I find the notion of playing a "paladin" character almost incompatable with Skyrim anyway.  Because there are so *many* things you can't do in this game if you plan on properly playing the  role of one.

Lets see:

1) Definitely can't join the Dark Brotherhood.
2) Can't join the Thieves guild either
3) Can't steal
4) Can't sneak
5) Can't do any of the Daedric Quests
6) No Necromantic spell-casting
7) Can't loot old crypts  (stealing the belongings of long buried nord heros?    Nope.  can't do that and still call yourself a paladin)
8) Can't become a Vampire
9) Can't become a Werewolf, and for that matter, you really have to  pursue the Companions questline with great caution because a lot of what they ask you to do is  quite un-paladinlike)
10) I have no idea how a paladin can, with a clear conscience, join either side in the civil war either....

"As my dad used to say, all Imperials are idiutts!"
Loved that book! hehe

Huh, I didn't even know we could use companions to open locks! I have some 350 lockpicks on my inv from looting all I killed and level 100 skill only from opening all locks I found. =)

How do we do it?  "I want you to do something for me" line?

The reason to kill all other races also has to do with how religion works in the game. A god can only exist if there are people believing in him or her. So genocide not only kills a race, it also kills the gods of that race.

Totally wrong. The gods have existed before mortal belief. They're the ancestors of all mortal races.

So true. Except #6. A Paladin could do Meridia and Azura's quest as those are nice Daedras, I guess. Sanguine, Sheogorath and Clavicus Vile too, perhaps, as they are not evil quests.

Finished the Thieves' Guild quests, except for the radiant ones.

This is the last time I'll whine about this (maybe), but it's even more a knife in the gut that you can't marry Brynjolf since he ends up being the only man in Tamriel you can spend eternity with. Bethesda, you slayers of romance, you. Actually my PC got married right before the whole "pact with Nocturnal" thing came up, and if I wasn't trying to finish the quest line I'm sure she'd have walked right back out. Screw Mercer, screw the guild, and definitely screw Nocturnal- I'm spending eternity with my burly Nord in Sovngarde, you fools!

Oh well- I doomed her for my completionism.   I figure there's gotta be a loophole.

Someone mentioned being poor for arrows. Try being an archer-alchemist. It's a good thing I'm a thief or I'd have no coin at all.

Well considering your soul is in actuality an Aedric and not a mortal one, I would put good money on being able to choose where you go in the after life.

Me? I am so taking the eternal pub crawl that is known as Sanguine.
