Yeah on reflection it really doesn't work in an open world game. I was thinking more like boss fights in other games where the dragon summons smaller dragons after its taken a certain amount of damage. Like the high dragon fight in DA2.naughty99 wrote...

Not sure about the others but if all those are dragons then I'd imagine the Summon Dragon one will be alot smaller than the others and can summon others of its type to aid it if you don't stab it in the head quickly enough. Probably wingless as being swarmed by flying dragons sounds really awkward combat wise.naughty99 wrote...

I wonder what the other dragon types could be? An electric dragon would seem logical (fire, ice....) but it'll be fun seeing what's what.
We saw the fire dragon was red and used a fire shout ("YOL TOOR". The frost dragon was white and used a frost shout (IIZ SLEN).
The following shouts have also been confirmed - what do you think the dragon who uses them will look like?
"STRUN BA QO" - Storm Call Shout (summons thunderstorm)
"FUS RO DAH" - Force Push Shout
Slow Time Shout (slows time)
Teleport Shout (allows player to stealthily teleport behind enemies)
Whirlwind Sprint Shout (gives player running speed boost)
Summon Dragon Shout (summons dragon to aid player in combat)
LOL it's really hard to wrap my head around the concept of a Dragon whose sole power is to summon another dragon.
This is pretty nuts. Maybe he is like two conjoined Siamese twin dragons?
maybe he has all sorts of deformed half-developed fetus dragons growing out of his skin

I suppose not every shouts in the game are, you know... shouts? I don't really see that teleport shout being all that stealthy, if the character's sneaking behind the enemy screaming "SHO RA BOH!!" or something without giving his position away.
Hilarious!
Yeah i guess he would kind of whisper that one, right?

Hmmm....if you pre-order now you will recieve a limited "premium" map of Skyrim. I'm still holding out for news of a collector's edition.
Me too, preordering the standard edition you can leave quite late after all.

I'd like a map but they don't say if its available internationally and no info on a collectors edition. Seems like an easy scenario to avoid if they just waited until they had all the info.

I wish developers would get all the info together in a clear and concise manner before making these anouncements. It seems alot of pre-order bonuses and collectors editions come with alot of unnecessary confusion.

I'm guessing they will do something like they did with New Vegas (and what a lot of other publishers have done recently)
slightly tweaked variations offered as pre-order and SE "exclusives" for Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc., maybe with some in-game items like a water canteen LOL
All the info will be released in a clear and concise manner much later, probably in September or October.

I'm not sure if teleportation is a stealth option. It could probably be used in short range to attack before an enemy is aware of you, but I think teleportation will be used more to quickly move about to avoid damage.
For stealth, I think sneak, potions and enchanted jewelry will again be the primary factors for stealth. Sneak Blue Suede Shoes and the Ring of Khajiit were my main methods for stealth.
I didn't use sneak or stealth too much in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. With more powerful bows that I can use systematically as a method of sniping, I might use stealth more often

And come 11:30 PM on November 10, I'm going to be in line at my local Game Stop. It'll be real fun when the under an hour countdown is on and we are all posting on here sharing in the excitement. It's still 4 months away, but when that time is here it will be super cool looking back to the journey of discussion we are doing now.
I hope a Collector's Edition is announced soon so I can officially have my reserved copy

Try installing Duke Patrick's combat archery mod. Completely changes the game for archery and I believe it is the mod that inspired the changes to Skyrim's archery system.

Theres a sort of honour in letting you opponent see you and you take them on. Even against groups. Stealth (while effective) is sort of a cheap shot. I think Im going to try and avoid it.

While I welcome this change because it suits my playing style I am actually almost reluctant to try it. It fits almost seamlessly into how I played both FO3 and NV so I think I will tire of it quickly. I think I just want to get back to my old Oblivion style. Charging into a fight with a sword and shield against enemies twice my size or larger!

At least with 280 different perks, it will actually be fun to play a pure warrior who doesn't use magic. This will probably be the first TES game where I will try that.
Lots of different ways to specialize your character now, certainly adds to the replay value.

I've no idea how I'm going to build my character in Skyrim there's even more options now with dual weilding and everything.

Problem is no matter how you play it no weight was ever felt from the decision. Same loot same ending, no impact. Additionally this is where some sort of morality comes into play. I never felt Bethesda has ever quite got it right in their games. The weight of your decisions only really appear in the end game and doesn't cause an impact in the active world.
Mind you when dragons are tearing up Skyrim who cares if you spare a merc or two? Still, feeling some weight to to actions would be nice.

I remember having the sh*t scared out of me while sneaking through a cave full of vampires that I simply wasn't equipped to deal with at the time. It reminded me of a proper survival horror game.

The breath and the voice are the vital essence of a Nord. When they defeat great enemies they take their tongues as trophies. These are woven into ropes and can hold speech like an enchantment. The power of a Nord can be articulated into a shout, like the kiai of an Akaviri swordsman. The strongest of their warriors are called "Tongues." When the Nords attack a city, they take no siege engines or cavalry; the Tongues form in a wedge in front of the gatehouse, and draw in breath. When the leader lets it out in a kiai, the doors are blown in, and the axemen rush into the city. Shouts can be used to sharpen blades or to strike enemies. A common effect is the shout that knocks an enemy back, or the power of command. A strong Nord can instill bravery in men with his battle-cry, or stop a charging warrior with a roar. The greatest of the Nords can call to specific people over hundreds of miles, and can move by casting a shout, appearing where it lands.
The most powerful Nords cannot speak without causing destruction. They must go gagged, and communicate through a sign language and through scribing runes.
The further north you go into Skyrim, the more powerful and elemental the people become, and the less they require dwellings and shelters. Wind is fundamental to Skyrim and the Nords; those that live in the far wastes always carry a wind with them.

Anyone think that it would be awesome if you could join the Psijic Order?
that seems very unlikely considering the Mysticism school has been omitted from Skyrim
