Daggerfall had the best leveling system of any TES game.

There was no nonsense with multipliers, you got a certain amount of HP points and attribute points to spend each level-up, depending on what you did during character creation.

It was thrown out because Morrowind threw out so many skills. And thus the "dumbing down" began.

Lol Wut?

Hated the unneeded clunky interface of both games.

For a PC, Skyrim's interface is probably the worst in the series when you consider context (that it's 2011 and games from 1996 don't magically get all the advancements made inbetween). Thank God for mods.

Quite frankly, all of the leveling systems were clunky prior to Skyrim IMHO. All of the resting and attribute distributing and multipliers got on my nerves after a while - not to mention having so many things split up into different skills, and having completely unnecessary skills like Athletics and Acrobatics.

No doubt, Skyrim is the best game in the series so far on many levels. I'll have difficulties going back and playing previous titles as a result.

Exactly.

Complex isn't always advance. In fact something being more complex is a sign of the reverse.

Ironically, though, Daggerfall's "dragonish" skill would be a godsend in Skyrim for people that get tired of the cliffracer syndrome.

Dragonish made dragon enemies non-hostile.

^ I'm still bummed that there's no Animal Friend perk in Skyrim. Yes, yes, I know all about Kyne's Peace and all that, but I loved that perk in Fallout. /snif

Thanks Rage.
I'm not much into Enchanting (lvl 50), Alchemy (lvl 40) things. How much I've lost during the disenchantment process! My archery is sorta deadly right now, my one handed ebony mace does only 78 damages :)
I should invest more on magicka, chain lightning does a somewhat good damage and then you use yo mace in they face!

Dear Skyrim PC adventurer,

Are you raging over sudden fps hits on your uber gaming rig?
Selling your soul to a daedra so that your old PC runs better?
About to FUS RO DAH your laptop out the window?

Well, lay down your worries and head over to this thread RIGHT NAU!!!

Talos himself would be amazed by the miraculous performance increases. Follow the hallowed words included in the readme files on how to add this divine gift. In the unlikely event this crashes your portal to Skyrim, that's obviously Thalmor sabotage or Daedra michief.

OK, I give...

I have to use magic to push my PC over level 50.

What schools/spells should a brute force Nord focus on, that are (1) useful for exploration and general combat encounters, and (2) are easy to use and level quickly through routine use?

Just asking for some general advice, as magic is not my thing. The only magic I've used outside of Shouts, is Flames (early on, more as a toy and party favor--doesn't appear to level Destruction quickly at all), Candlelight (which got me through Blackreach, but has to be cast half a million times to level a single time), and Conjure familiar.

Any help from the magic masters is appreciated.

That's going to be patch 1.3.11

I guess I can't fault Bethsoft for being sloppy with pc, when even PS3 outsells it.

Take the 7000 steps up to the Grey Beards and read all 10 of the plaques on the way up.
Then you get for a while a power that makes animals ignore you.

And yes I did walk through the forest thinking it was a Disney movie for a short while.

OMG. I found all 30 crimson nimroots and very fast! I thought it would be one of those very hard quests but I got a nose for it, I guess.. hehe

PS.: 31 33 now.. how many of them are there?

Yeah, I was very surprised how easy it was.

I read a guide somewhere that said there were "far more" than the required 30 for the quest, but don't know an exact number.  Some are in out of the way areas you would generally just walk by (top of a column or archway), but the ring does help. Me personally, I committed to exploring just about every square inch of Blackreach.  It is by far my favorite area in the game.  I had well over 30 CNs when I quit looking and just moved on to doing other things like shuttling all my loot to a single point for later pick-up.

They will also respawn every 10-15 days as well.

Want to add some extra special flavor to a Falmer dungeon?  Fight through it while hyped on Sleeping Tree Sap.  Image IPB

I eat Falmer Ears for breakfast, with Nordic Barnacle and Scaly Pholiata for seasoning. Maybe my built was made too powerful but the only real thing that gave me trouble, always in Master diff, was a Bandit Highwayman when I was level 6 and not even my power attacks could damage him. And he could kill me in 1or two 2 hits. I really lost my head to him before I gave up and ran.

But Falmers? Weaklings. And I've been spawing Shadowmasters mostly since a long many levels back. They're great for Grand Soul Gems filling! =)

Other than that the game is a real breeze even on Master.

(PS.: Sleeping Tree Sap screwed up my Health points, when I was around level 6 as well, making them permanently above what they should be. I needed lots of tries with the console to fix it but it will always show my Health in green as if I had some bonus to it even when I'm naked.)

It is not that they are difficult, I can one shot them with 30X stealth bow damage but it is their appearance and the whole dark nasty way they live, etc. Spiders are the same way. I think it is the gushy, bone crunching sounds every thing makes down there.

I'll have to admit that I found 32 of them Crimson Nirnroots myself. And your right it don't take all that long to find them either.

Now my question is did you check out the whole place and ways is Your opinon of Blackreach? Also there is a Named Dragon in there as well which I found out quite by accident when I was messing around in there. And he attacked me. Shocked me big time when it happened.

Is anyone else annoyed that there isn't a chance to side with enemies for all the guilds? I mean they let you side with Maro but why can't i join Mjoll and cleanse Riften or side with the Silver Hand and purge Skyrim's Werewolves?

Poison Corner --- What is your favourite/best poison you use regularly?

I am always trying to find a better poison to use and currently I am using two on a regular basis that seem to do the most damage.:

Poison Of Paralysis: Value - 1472 gp and currently my favourite but I can never find enough Canis Root/Briar Heart to use this exclusively.

Effect: Target is paralyzed for 21 seconds. Causes 21 points of poison damage for 10 seconds.

Recipe/Ingredients: Canis Root, Imp Stool, Slaughter Fish Eggs or Scales

Substitutions: Briar Heart for Canis Root (these have been kind of rare in my playthrough so I mostly use Canis Root which has been rare too but more common.)

Human Flesh for Canis Root but it is so rare that I never use this ingredient for poison potions.

Poison Of Lingering Damage Health: Value - 345 gp

Effect: Causes 21 points of poison damage for 10 seconds. Causes 63 points of poison damage.

Recipe/Ingredients: Imp Stool, Orange Dartwing, Deathbell

Substitutions: Frost Mirriam for Death Bell if you want to do Concentrated Poison damage to Magicka for 42 points.

Human Flesh for Deathbell to add 21 sec. of Paralyze and 42 pts. poison damage but Human flesh is really rare and so I never use it.

River Betty for Deathbell to add 104 points of poison damage but again River Betty has been hard to find on my playthrough.

If anyone has a better recipe or a different combination that works for them let me know because I a really obsessed with Poison making and would love to spice things up.

Well now I don't know why you would have to use magic to push you over Level 50 in my first playthrough my Fem Breton is Level 58 and don't use magic at all don't even have a perk point in any of the schools.

But if you really must go via magic, which I hate as well, is either Destruction or restoration spells. As that would be my choses. Because at least with Restorations spells you can heal yourself without potions.

Eglyntne- Well now will have to admit with my current Daedric bow and the fact that it does close to 500pts of damage plus 46pts of fire damage and Fills a soul gem one thing for which I don't have to worry about is using poisons. I play on master and most are usually dead before the poison gets to them.<G>

Well, you won't be able to kill him there, but you should be able to damage him enough for him to leave...which is exactly how it should work. I remember thinking that I wasn't doing any damage, either. It seemed like my conjured atronach and Ghorbash were able to do more than I was, so I just let them work at it.

Dragonrend only makes a dragon land; it doesn't actually hurt them (at least as far as I've noticed).
