The Necropheliac guy? Oh god yes. Unfortunately (or fortunetely, depending how you look at it) Bethesda dropped the ball on that one and ruined a perfect horror story by making his lair completely steril. It's a snow-covered white cave. What were they thinking? A ghastly personality like Yngvild should have lived in one of those ancient, dirty, blood-smeared crypts, or better yet, an abandoned castle with a cob-webbed prison and dim candle light and some decent mood music.Eglyntine wrote...

Aye, there are some extremely gruesome "decorations" laying about in the dungeons around Skyrim. There was a sunken tower west of Riverwood full of necromancers who seemed to have a fetish for stripping skulls of their flesh (some of which didn't look like they're weren't quite "finished") and sticking them on pikes in threes.
The citizens of Skyrim have some rather macabre pasttimes, it seems.Eglyntine wrote...

Oh god, that bastard was a real sicko. I spared no expense in ending his wicked little life. He can join Eola, Calixto, and all of the other sick bastards who have met their ends at my hand.

The only "environment"-based comments I've ever heard from Lydia are the standard, all-purpose ones that all your permanent companions make: When you discover a cave she'll say "oh look, a cave. Wonder what's inside". Or when you break into someone's locked house she'll say: "you shouldn't be in here!"
Don't join if your roleplaying as a proud warrior, but the positives of joining the guild are fences you can sell stolen loot to, trainers for sneak, archery, speechcraft, lockpicking, easy gold, ability to bribe guards for minor offences, rare weapons, armor and three perks to choose from. So far i only had guards in different holds comment on wearing TG armor, someone else could probably give a more detailed answer to the last question.Hawke_12 wrote...
Anyone here no if there's a "point" in joining the Thieves Guild from a Nord role-playing view? Everyone I meet in Riften says that it's garbage and everything in between and as a Nord player it seems kinda dumb for him to join a "low class organization". My character is proud warrior and would never do something shallow as joining the Thieves Guild.
So my question, does it pay off to join the Thieves Guild? I'm not talking about loot, but through a story perspective. Does the Thieves Guild become recognizable if you finish that specific quest line?

I didn't know people would send thugs after you for taking Unusual Gems. I should've had a whole army of those guys come down on me if that's true.

I cleared out this gold mine near Markarth of Forsworn, and mined it for said gold. Lo and behold the owner who i cleared out the mine for sends thugs after me. Lol @ Faendal.greengoron89 wrote...
Yeah, that's what I thought. I ratted Letrush out to Maven and let him keep the horse (I have Shadowmere - to hell with Frost), so I guess she didn't feel the need to have me beat down by thugs.
The only time I had thugs come after me was when I robbed Faendal's house - not for his valuables but just out of sheer spite. I hate that guy.
I killed the thugs and impaled Faendal with my sword, of course. Sven was happy. XD

Seems like the option to "clean up" Riften should be available. Feels wrong to me that it just sits there like a sore thumb in the game with a boy scout Nord, overpowered beyond all reason, and yet Riften remains...Riften, with Maven BB and the TG plot armored like nobody's business.
I mean, we can wipe out the DB, why not the TG? I get roleplaying the thief and assassin, but what about the Dudley Do-Right types. I would have thought it would have been the Dark Brotherhood that would have been fenced from annihilation, not the Thieves' Guild.

Not sure exactly what you're asking. My Nord is a thief and has no shame. In terms of story, I liked it, and yes people do comment to the effect of "the Thieves' Guild is back" once you finish the quest line. Which really doesn't finish when you finish, since there are radiant quests and more rewards even after you're technically done.Hawke_12 wrote...

I prefer that you don't see that sort of dramatic thing. It's more realistic that life goes on even though you get the perception you can do anything.Barbarossa2010 wrote...
