None of those mask bearers Dragon Priests were much of a problem to me. Pyromancers at lower levels were much more of a challenge! But then, I did built a powerful warrior!

Now, I have the eight masks. Can I forge them all into one with all their properties? That would be awesome! hehe

The only one that was a problem for me was the one in the mage storyline. Freaking shock spells.

After that I learned to get close and personal with those fools. They aren't that impressive if they try to get away from you to blast you with spells.

And no! You can only get the ninth. Pretty neat for warriors, compared to the other ones :o

Anyone know where I can find some Destruction Staves for my Khajiit mage?

Chewin- I disagree with you on the long range fighting against a Dragon Priest I've fought 6 so far this play through and 5 of them have been with using my bow against them. The one for which I did use by dual swords against was dead almost as quickly as the cover came off his coffin.

Greengoron- How many different shouts do you have that you've yet to fight a Dragon priest? This playthrough alone I've already fought 6 of them one with a dragon as well. Thankfully this time I got lucky and only had to fight the dragon and Krosis one at a time. Which sure helped.

I destroyed the dark brotherhood, but now looking back at other people's playthroughs I feel like I'm missing a lot

I don't mind being an assassin for a government lets say, but it just feels morally wrong to work for a group that takes contracts for hire

Should I reload a save and join the DB?

You can do both.   You can join them, do a few of their quests, get Shadowmere, then take the quest to wipe them out.

On a related note, is it just my warped nature, or does   joining the Thieves Guild  feel  far more morally harsh than joining the Dark Brotherhood?

The DB asks you to kill all these annoying Scum NPCs that almost always deserve to die anyway.  But by contrast, the Thieves guild asks you to Frame (and put out of business) a completely innocent merchant;  Then they ask you to threaten and blackmail another one,  and in the meantime, they force you to help out one of the most deserving-of-death people in the entire game (Maven Black-Briar)

The only thing is you don't get Shadowmere till your well into the DB quests and you've already killed many different folks. I don't think at that point you can get the option to destroy the Dark Brotherhood.

EDIT:

@Merkar- I know I love the Daedric armor I think it looks so cool. I've go over an 1100 armor rating wearing fully Daedric plate. I also use full Daedric armor as well. I am one that likes things to match.<LOL>

Andarthiel-I've obtained several that do fire and other types of damage some from killing Dragon priests. I don't use them I usually sell them as I don't use spells.

I was actually hoping we'd find something more about them. I mean we had two quest lines that like directly gave a sign that maybe, just maybe. TWO!
One ends up with the useless mage guy in the College going poof and the second was even more of a tease. Oh, let's see what's in the massive lockbox! Oh, great. The Oghma Infinium :|
At least it more easily obtain than the one in Oblivion.

I had to beat a redguard to death in Whiterun because he kept asking if I've been to the Cloud District.

You're referring to the one in Whiterun. I agree that is getting old to be honest with you there. How about that one girl that is always around there that says "What are you looking at? I'm not afraid of you. I'd like to just back hand her one time to teach her some respect.<LOL> Maybe the DB will pay her a visit.<EG>

BTW got a quick question for which I was wondering and hoping someone here had the asnwer for it as I keep getting receipes for it but after 700 hrs of playing the game have yet to find it. Where is the Atronach Forge at? Does anyone in fact know?

It's even worse when they run off and heal themselves. I chased a troll for about a half mile after hitting him with a few good arrows, and by the time I caught up to him his health had fully recovered.  In the meantime he'd taken out his aggression on a swath of mudcrabs and goats.

Well now as far as the trolls go they don't heal themselves so much as they regenerate their health as a naturlal abitilty. Easiest way to take them out is with fire, anything that deals fire damage will do wonderfully.

The Redguard is yoked witha bit of a harpy for a wife, so I let him be. And the little girl IS scared of me, after I warned her about bullying others.

But the Redguard that keeps informing me that merc work might suit me? Or that complaining nugget of a Battle-Born that loiters around the general store? Pressing their luck....

And after 300+ hrs, all of my male characters are now secretly enamored over my married neighbor in Whiterun; the best female NPC in the game. Only asks one favor, is always supportive to her husband and my characters, seldom complains, and admires her competition in Smithing. If only she was single, and had some more dialogue....

The Midden, it's inside/below the College of Winterhold.

Now how did you warn her I didn't think that you even had the option to talk to her like allot of other NPC's in the game. Now you're refering to the one that is leaning against the post just berore you go into the store. I thought of punching his lights out to see if that would make him shut up.<G>

I'd have to fully agree with you about the female smith in Whiterun she is great. It seems the good ones like that there are the ones for which you can't marry for one reason or another.

EDIT:

MrCrusty Thank you very much I'm going to have to get up there and try it out and see if ti's anything major.

If you catch the little girl threatening a little boy in the village, speak to the lad about it afterwards, and gain a very small quest, but a rewarding one.

I think you must have skill level 90 in one of the magic schools to be able to start the quest that takes you to the Atronach Forge.

Elhanan will have to admit that I've never paid her much mind to be honest with you there but when I'm in Whiterun from now on I will.<G> Thanks for the information.

RageGT & marbatico- well now will have to admit that I don't think any of my skills in any of the schools goes over 30<G> But now that I know where it's at I think that I'm going to give it a try using one of these recipes that I've picked up and see what happens. Thanks for the info.

Yrkoon,

In order to destroy the Dark Brotherhood, you need to kill the representative Astrid the first time you meet her. If you don't kill her during the first quest, she becomes essential along with other members of the Dark Brotherhood (as I tried to kill Astrid's husband because he annoyed me, but he was essential), and you can't destroy the Dark Brotherhood as a result.

I ran into Krosis a few days ago...I was fighting 2 frost dragons and had my hands full and then he pops in and starts gattling gunning me. That Staff of Fireball is a new favorite staff, and the mask is helpful for alchemy and picking master locks.

I died twice, too, and was hard put to it, running and hiding and Fast Healing and drinking potions just to stay alive. By far the most epic fight I have had. I got fortunate Krosis was just sniping from the perimeter or else it would have been all that much harder. He kind of backed off a little....I don't think he wanted to accidentally hit one of his buddies :P

I thought Morokai was hardest tbh he could 1 shot my character when I went there since my character was based around sword and steel conan type he didn't use magic except shouts therefore his magic resistance was puny. All casters caused him trouble big time.

Maybe Dragon Priests aren't as hard since I'm pure mage....Morokei was fun but pretty easy for me...he ran from my Destruction spells but I had trouble maintaining magicka because of his electricity Destruction spells.

That's neat you decided to focus in your character with no magic. Did you wander into Labyrinthian randomly or did you do the College of Winterhold? Morokei is one of my favorite masks and pieces if loot period...its magicka stats are really good.

I considered my character an explorer wandering the world kind of guy, I went in every single cave and dungeon and place I found and explored them regardless of if had reason to be there. I think I have cleared like 110-120 places so far that I have found but still plenty more to go.

hmm. I guess we may find it but we can't really use it then:

From UESPwiki:

The Midden's main feature is the Atronach Forge. Near it, the book Atronach Forge Manual can be found, along with the components to create the atronach recipes within. It refers to other Atronach Forge Recipes scattered about Skyrim.

A mysterious link to Oblivion

Having a Conjuration skill of 90 will allow the Conjuration Ritual Spell quest from Phinis Gestor to be started, which will lead to the missing object that fits into the setting on the forge, a Sigil Stone. Some recipes require this object.
