Can an experience archer teach me? Overdraw 5/5 ok, I'll get it asap. What about Critical Shot, Eagle Eye and Power Shot? Are they worthy it? Any other perks on the tree that are a must for an Archer/Thief cat? =)

Steady Hand (requires Eagle Eye) is probably the single most powerful perk in this game.

You mean the slow time perk? What makes it so powerful? I fail to see it. Once you shot the arrow, time is back to normal, right? It is good to make a sure shot, I think. Anyway, both levels are worthy it? 2/2 Steady Hand?

I'm having a blast with Sneak. I almost cleared a whole Vampire Den at level 9. I shot, hide, they gave up searching, Sneak boosted many levels with that. Couldn't get the Master Vampire alone though. One full Vampire was always with him so I gave up because there's no way I can take them both, not at this level anyway. (went in at 9, went out at 11 though =)

I'm thinking of going Smithing/Light side of the perk tree all the way to Dragon this time. I want the cat on Dragonscale Light Armor set. I would have to be content with Glass Bows though. Let's see if a good Smith can make them almost as good as Daedric.

I'll have to change plans regarding speech/alchemy though. I want pickpocketing/light armor and enchanting for him. I'm planning on a BB khajiit. With Bow mostly but Dagger x15 when needed. Does 1-handed perks affect Dagger damage?

If your stamina is high enough, you can use it to fire off a dozen arrows in one go, obliterating crowds of advancing enemies before they can even reach you. Just hold the zoom button down and you can keep going as long as you have stamina left. The second level is definitely worth it as it doubles the slowdown rate (although you may want to let go of the zoom briefly when drawing a new arrow because it slows down your draw time as well, draining stamina)

I put all my points into Stamina and almost nothing into Health for my thief/archer character. At high level I had a massive Stamina pool and with the Steady Hand perk the character became quite overpowered.

The Power Shot helps as well as it makes most of those arrows stagger the enemies.

Yes to all.  I'm pretty much filling up the Archery tree.  The ones about finding more arrows I put off but eventually took them because buying arrows eats up a lot of gold.

Power Shot is the money one, because stagger is so helpful on enemies that take more than one arrow.  The slow time one is an accuracy perk basically.  I use it all the time.  Aim is difficult in this game.  I find it more difficult than in Oblivion, where I eventually got used to calculating an arc.  This one apparently has auto-aim, so you want to shoot straight ahead.  That sounds like it would be easier but it isn't- like you can't shoot up over obstacles, etc.  Obviously aim is very important to getting a sneak critical.  If you miss on the first shot, enemies are going to start searching and your damage already goes down.

Critical Shot can be put off until mid levels, but once enemies start getting more powerful it is very helpful.  A critical hit will also stagger.  Even dragons feel it when they get a critical hit.

I'm using food more in this game, because of the stamina bonus for stews and soups.  And the spouse's Homecooked Meal.  <3

One handed perks do not affect dagger damage.  You don't need them if you're building up sneak.

I now have all 3 words of the Storm Call shout, and as I suspected, the over-hypers at the Bethesda forums, who claim it can "destroy whole towns" are full of sh**, as usual.  It's a worthless shout.  it looks "cool" I guess, with all its rain, thunder and lightning effects on the entire world, but damage wise, it doesn't do a damn thing.  It won't kill a pair of mudcrabs out in the open, let alone a dragon that's flying overhead.

Disagree at the defense of Winterhold battling those magic worm things it made that fight much easier at the lowest level. I've used it on ancient and elder dragons since then with effect. The problem is friendly fire. I had Mjoll try to kill me once because of it (I reloaded that game).

I'm now desperately using, Illusion, Conjuration, Block and my minor to level up to 44!

I also got two master destruction spells (bought 2500 coins): Thunderbolt and Ice Spear
Meh, They use around 200 Magicka but they hardly damage strong opponents like Dwarven Robots even at level 72 destruction. I can't use these spells more than once (Even till end of the game).
This game sucks!

Try taking the destruction perks that reduce the spell costs by 50%.  Then take perks in enchanting and enchant your gear.  Those spells cost me 37/450 mana at level 42.

Another report.

I'm 20h+ and this game is phenomenal, like a drug, can't stop playing more and more. When I'm not playing, I'm thinking about it. The randomn events (or the ones who made us think are random) are the best...

Addai- True but thats when you get a mod like Vals that adds to your smithing and allows you to make your own arrows. Between making my own arrows with the smithing mod and the perk for finding more arrows I've not bought any arrows in a long time.

For that matter the only thing for which I have bought this whole game was houses and all the upgrades to go with them. Only used a trainer for speeech one time. In the early part of the game I used whatever equipment and armor I could find around till I could make and enchant my own daedric stuff.

Think the next time through though I won't be enchanting my daggers as it seems a waste when your daggers do 160 base damage each and than have the perk for doing 15x on top of that for sneak. They are one shoted.<G>

That is true there I've picked up countless arrows of every type and sold many of them. Early on in the game even was using the falmer arrows I found. After all they weren't costing me anything. Image IPB

@Rage will theis be your first time for doing the TG? Are you also going to be doing the DB as well?

Uncertain, but believe the DW perks may apply to daggers. And the tip to hold both Mouse buttons for a 3 stab attack certainly spices up game play.

@ RageGT - Conjuration spells occasionally makes for some useful distractions while you place some needed shots into targets, or move into another fire position. Also, with added Stamina as suggested earlier, one may also tote alternative bows in case of desired change, or being disarmed.

I think the destruction spell Incinerate works pretty well - using two hands for a concentrated hit against an enemy works pretty well for me, even at high levels, and I've even used it against dragons. I took the perks to increase fire damage as well. Like Elhanan said, Impact perk certainly helps.

You're playing a Khajiit now?  Get ready for the Bandit/Enemy comments.  Instead of  "You call yourself a Nord?!" And "Die Orc Scum!", they'll say stuff like:  "You'll make a good rug, cat!"

With the first char, I had many many arrows. I gave most of them to Aela. After all, I didn't really used a bow, except a few times for fun.

And no, he also did all questlines available. I later found out why. Very cool to be able to choose to gain entrance some special place by claiming any of the alternatives:

- By Right of Birth - I am Dragonborn
- By Right of Glory - I lead the Companions
- By Right of Cleverness - I am Master of the College
- By Right of Blood -  I Listen to the Night Mother
- By Right of Plunder - I'm a Nightingale of Nocturnal
- By Right of Addiction - I'm a fraking PC gamer who had to play 400 hrs and do all that before getting here so let me in mothafrakker!

Is there any other I may have missed? hehe

Yep, I have a few ones already. One to cause Fear, very useful against enemies that would normally kill me in 2-3 hits in melee and it causes all those funny lines normally heard when they yield, and a few more with other effects which I've found in recent adventures.

Man, level in this game certainly goes up fast, up to some point. I didn't do much at all. Escaped Helgen, hunted near Riverwood, recovered a Golden Claw, clearing the place in the process, killed some vampires in their den and ran before their master could turn me, found an Ancient Ascent when exploring the Far South, cleared a Paranoyd Bandit chicck's hideout and I'm level 16 already with over 60 Sneak!  It's the Stones probably but hey, it's fun.

Only thing Rajiit dislikes is how they put a Nord to make Rajiit's sounds in the game. *roar*

I'm doing the civil war for the first time with my new Nord 2H barbarian character and it's been a lot of fun.

The battle for whiterun was pretty amazing.

However, I think you probably want to do the civil war quests when you are relatively low level, as I am level 22 now and I'm slicing through the enemies like a knife through melted butter.

Just chintzy ones.  After the first few levels, I wanted elven, orcish and dwarven arrows.  They're not just lying around.

I have Val's mod but my character has 100 smithing and can still only craft steel arrows, so practically speaking it's worthless.

So, I find Anise's secret, when I get out from her cellar, she attacks me, I killed her but she still managed to put a contract on my head. I was calmly bartering in Riverwood when three heavily armored thugs attack me and I don't even know why at that moment.

Middle of the day, the whole town awake and only ONE person come to help me, while the other watch and run? Sven! The only brave Nord in that rathole! Hired as pack mule...err... companion, immediately after we dispatched the thugs!

That exact thing happened to me. In fact, Riverwood went hostile on me- I think because I used a shout at the thugs. Those thugs plagued me badly on lower levels.

Makes a change from Morrowind: Tribunal

In that, if anyone attacked you in the middle of town, everyone would ignore the fight and just go about their regular walking patterns ...possibly even walking between you and your attacker.
Of course if you accidently injured a bystander then everyone around would attack you...
life isn't fair...

Those kind of arrows are very "holy" when I play. Having over 150 of elvish arrows seems to be so little and I don't want to waste a single one. I once remember I missed two shoots when I used them and I was like "NO! Reload game! Two 16+ arrows wasted!"
