Thanks Naughty and Addai. Gladly following the advices and well, they are very good indeed. =)

Now, this is just like playing a Werewolf, only it's more like a Werecat! =) (Wish I could roar like Scent of Blood)

Eh, wer(e) part means man from old Saxon language.

Though then again, Khajiit are human looking cats so that statement is still true, though I kinda doubt you meant that since it's very common misconception.
Though could be wrong and you actually meant that.

A good way to get free arrows of any type is to give one of that type of arrow to your companion, they get infinite arrows from this and any they stick in enemies can be collected to increase your own number. I've found its a decent way to stock up on ebony arrows but I don't use my bow all that much so maybe its not efficient enough for pure archers.

I'm not sure if I was miss hearing but when I first went to see Paarthanux(sp?) on High Hrothgaar I was wearing the Krosis mask and I could swear he kept calling me Krosis. Anyone else experience this?

That Sword-Maiden woman from from Solitude is my favourite companion so far(despite my failure to learn her name, Jorda or something). I recruited her into the Blades and gave her some dragon plate armour with Dawnbreaker and a few magic staffs, she was an absolute beast apart from her attempts to blow up half of Skyrim including Meeko with the staffs. Decided to give her some time off and try out Mjoll, just need one more person to recruit into the Blades now.

He is speaking in the dragon language. 'Krosis' means Sorrow in their language.

No worries. I don't really know what I meant. 'Tis not my language! =) But since we had Wererats in NWN (At least some servers used them, don't remember the OC), My Werecats was just to complete the trio with Werewolves.

Now this is final: Bashnag is the thoughest mofo badass in the game! Doesn't matter what class I face him, what level, he still makes me reload a lot! My latest Warrior was lucky because he went there very low level so he faced a Briarheart instead. But my Kat suffered a lot and if not for Sven to keep drawing his fire I would never have done it, at level 17! Well, Snow Bears are though too. Dang, everything at this level seems to be very though. I desperately need to upgrade my weapons and gear! =)

I've done this but I get almost no arrows from it.  Certainly not enough to stock my archer.  I'm sure it would probably be better if I had a companion who was mostly archery but I've had a couple mages and melee guys.

No, open the race menu (showracemenu) and switch genders, then switch back, your character will be at the default stance, which is their hands tied up.

With a shield, it looks as though my char is in a sort of protectors pose or something. I have not tried this with a male, but yeah, that's how you do it. Here's another shot:

But you know that when you get your hands tied up after using <showracemenu> on the console, all your skills are probably messed up, right? Did you check them? I suggest you do and let us know if they are.

Uff... playing Archer/Thief is fun and all but it is a hell lot harder than playing a Two Handed Nord who can just bash things up! I had to keep hiding behind a column to fight the Boss at Volunruud while he kept searching and unleashing it on Lydia when she got up again, and then she went down again. Can't say anything bad about it though. I LMAO during the whole battle and my archery and sneak increased quite a bit from it.

But it is a pain, really. I spent over 50 Orcish arrows, doing crits and sneak attack damage and that thing wouldn't lose almost any health! With a Greatsword I'd just crack his ghost skull as usual. =)

@ RAGEGT

No, I didn't check, because I never saved the game after doing showracemenu, I just quit the game and reloaded.

Also:

My first char is an assassin, but as in morrowind and oblivion, I switched my "main" character to my paladin character (seen above). I like stealth and all, but board and sword is really fun, especially in Skyrim where you can actually attack with your shield!

I am also VERY god-like; my resto spells cost nothing, and I just shield charge everyone and then clean up. Enchanting is very, very over powered.

I am looking forward to the difficulty increase mods. Things can still kill me (I got 1 shotted by a draugh super deathlord or something), but my shield was down at the time. Overall, I find it funny that my main switched once again to my pally character as it did in morrowind and oblivion.

I made a pure mage altmer, but have not have that urge to play her, maybe if I get deeper in destro, but for now, I like my melee classes.

Archery was slightly frustrating, and I have a video about early-game archery if anyone's interested. Later on you get power shot and stuff just... Dies.

Oh, it won't be long now, Rage. You'll soon be laughing at those draugr lords as they shuffle around trying to find you. If they're not dead on the first arrow, that is.

Two disappointments of the weekend: Nelacar, the only tolerable Altmer in all of Skyrim, isn't a follower. I was hoping after you take Azura's Star back to him that he would be. And the Investor perk doesn't work on open-air merchants, so my favorite orc smith is a no-go. Too bad.

I was laughing at the "bloodiest beef" vendor who comments he'd like an orc wife. If I play an orc female warrior I had thought to pair her up with one of the wolf brothers, but wondered if humans would go for an orc. Apparently some of them do, though not sure you can account for that guy's taste. lol

Wow, the intro to the Dark Brotherhood was amazing. Astrid is wicked. In a stupor at the improvement from Oblivion. I'm also glad they don't dislike Werewolves. That's a plus.

Also, what's your favorite house? I heard Honeyside opens right up to Skryim which I think is a huge bonus. Looking to buy.

All Houses are nice and have their own charm. I use Riften's as base because of my lab/enchanting table at the basement and yes, it goes out directly to the world. Windhelm's indeed the less claustrophobic, as Addai have mentioned. Just remember to buy the "Clean the mess" before any furniture for that house. I also like Solitude and Markarth houses.  Whiterun was base for my first char. This time I have no idea where will it be but Whiterun is always the first available so it always starts there. =)

I hope so. Level 22 and I need 3 sneak attacks to kill a lousy Falmer. And if they detect me and go melee I'm doomed. And they cannot be higher than level 10 because I have an Orcish Bow of Fear for emergencies and it scare the heck out of those Falmers, except for the ranked ones. Combat skills are the ones that raise the slowest in the game, weirdly enough. Aw well, Master difficulty is master. I'll go back training archery with Giants soon. =)

Addal67-I've got Vals mod as well and have smithing, enchating and alchemy at 100 and can and have made daedric arrows. Thats all I use now And they do 24 pts of damage each. I don't know why you are only able to make steel arrows with her mod.

Chewin3- what is your archery level? If your at a level 50 or better take the Hunters Discipline. Great perk for which I love. I've only made about 300 daedric arrows since I've started smithing and now I've got over 5 or 600 of them. So arraows are the last thing for which I've got to worry about and Daedric are the best in the game.

EDIT:

Rage it's a big difference from just starting out and not having all that decent equipment to have great armor and weapons like daedric or ebony isn't it? I learned that myself when I started my Redguard playthrough.

Also the with the Breeze house in Whiterun yuo are right next to a smith so its convenient for that purpose as well you don't have to go very far to work on your smithing. I also like the fact that at least the Whiterun house it's got a chest near  your alchemy table so that you can store your potions in. I wish they would have thought of that for all the houses.

Who do you have to kill in Windhelm to get that house? I've done the blood on Ice and several other quests but yet to get permission to buy a house there. This play through I've got one in Whiterun; Solitude and Markarth so far. Working on buy the last two.

Laser Beam-Have you done the tieves guild? If not you should. I just got through the main part of it for the 2nd time and I love it.

As long as you can pick a safe spot to attack from, prolly yes! =)

Oh yeah, even the Ebony bow my two hander carried for fun was much better than anything this khajiit has! But I love the challenge. I'm still raising sneak/archery (75/61 atm) but now I think it's a good time to start working on my smithing (50) and Enchanting (30). At least with Overdraw 4/5 and Eagle Eye 2/2 plus Powershot, things are getting better already. Poor Blood Dragon can say it!  woot!

Oh, and I use that chest near the lab for ingredients. Amazing how heavy they are when you get them all together! hehe.

The house in Windhelm is only available if you join the Stormcloaks, I believe. Jarl Ulfrich won't let you buy property there otherwise and it takes some 3-4 civil war missions before he offers you the chance to buy it.

Try Aela the Huntress, Mjoll or Jorda. Although you still don't get a great a deal, you get maybe 3-4 from a dragon fight and 1-2 from most others. I went from 36 to 150 ebony arrows in a few hours. Its still probably nowhere near good enough for a pure archer but its better than nothing.

I had to fire Mjoll as my assisstant/pack mule, she would not shut her damn mouth...EVER! I couldn't hear dialogue because she would wander over in the middle of it and yap away, she is worse than the dogs. I got rid of her and grabbed the first follower I seen who just happened to be Jorda, her first action was to blow up Meeko....again....*sigh*Lydia might be getting her pack mule job back.

Anyone else felt mildly ill after eating ingredients to test for effects? Giants toe is one of the worst ones .

Once you have the 3x dmg perk for arrows with Stealth, and a Dwarven bow or better, fights should be getting somewhat less problematic.  Does this seem to be the case for others? I recall thinking that Dwarven equipment apparently kills Dwarven automans and Falmers much faster than my early days.

But the best part of this type of character is hiding and tactical positioning even in the early part of life. Being able to wander around in the dark and gain the high ground behind a ruin full of bandits, or scaling the mountainside and dropping in on the parapets of a small fort is a wonderous way to eliminate hostiles. The 2H model may be able to devestate with shock and awe, but is more than likely going through the front door, while the Stealth model may well take out some leaders first, and work the dungeons in reverse.

And you have a character with supposed bonuses for climbing....

FWIW - hitting outside areas between 2-6AM appears to be the best time to catch many guards unaware, folks sleeping, etc; even those within the indoor locations are seemingly more likely to be napping, too. Using anytime after dark also increases Stealth - or at least does not seem to penalize it - so one may also take advantage of Nightvision if they have it.

Just be aware that certain foes and locations may also have evening benefits, so plan accordingly.

I do have the 3x sneak attack for bows for a while and it doesn't help much sometimes. Against a Briarheart for instance. Eventually I kill them, when my mule/companion doesn't block my aim and I get a few crits on the target. But as Archery goes up, so goes the damage. It's all good.

I've gone Light Armor with this char because I want Glass weapons and Dragonscale Armor this time.

And I feel sorry for all the Giants and Mammoths, foxes and deers, rabbits and mudcrabs in the big open space west of Whiterun but this Kat has to practice his shots and spend all those Falmer and Forsworn Arrows. Very good combination these lousy arrows and huge HP targets for a good Archery session.

I love archery. Currently sneak is maxed out and archery 97. I first look for a location to which it is easy to hide and avoid line of sight. The best locations are somewhere above where enemies need stairs to get to you. ;) Once I found a location I take them out one by one. Shoot. Hide. Rinse and repeat. There is also an archery perk which staggers your foe (50% chance) and there is a rapid fire perk. Those two are handy as well. When you cannot hide then it is important to have room behind you and walk backwards during shooting. If you cannot avoid close combat then the foes will be helpless because of the stagger perk. Just keep firing until they're dead. :P

They are, but using a one handed weapon and having 'Fast Healing' spell (like in the picture), and staying close to the Priest all the time, it should be a walk in the park (sort of).

Long range fighting is a no go.

I love that! The first thing I thought when I saw you r pictures was, "Actually I came out wearing his face..." hehe

Long range is a great strategy if you are tipping your arrows with a 21 second Paralyze DOT poison. It works out really easily in fact. Takes all of the "Oh kitty litter they are gonna get meeeee!" right out of the picture. ;)
