I have a companion who has gone MIA. He's not with me, he's not at my home, he's not at his "home" base. I can't add another companion because I can't dismiss him. How does one find a "friend" in Skyrim so you can send them away?

If your playing on the PC then there is a console command to help you.

player.moveto X where X is the RefID for your companion.

Sadly not on PC. Never found him but did a quest where someone joins you and automatically "removes" your companion and that cleared it up.

Also if you fast travel a few times and they don't show up, they are either standing somewhere waiting for your command or dead.

So far I've just hit level 81 with 14 perk points to spare. In the sneak tree skill i have everything minus Light Foot, Silent Roll, Silence, and Shadow Warrior. Are these Perks worth it or are they just fluff?

Shadow Warrior is a great perk, probably just below Assassin's Blade and Steady Hand in terms of usefulness for a stealth character. If you crouch during combat, there is a puff of green smoke and enemies go after other targets instead. Great for getting dragons temporarily off your back.

Silent Roll is great as well - you can sort of sprint or move really fast while stealthed by rolling and occasionally you can use it to avoid melee attacks.

Did fast travel, did waiting.  No dice.

I went back and found out I lost them, oddly, in the ratways when I went in and out of the same door to a different area several times in a row and one time it appears they didn't "teleport" to the new zone with me after one of the "jumps".

I can't believe I'm level 41 and haven't found one single item with Fortify Archery or Fortify Health to disenchant. *sighs*

But I found an Elven Armor named Elven Boots of Ancient Stamina! hahaha

If you join the DB you get fortify archery equipment.  An Amulet of Arkay is fortify health but that's random loot.

I was happy to finally find a Muffle disenchantable item, at the orc smith in Markarth no less.  But I think vendor stock is pretty random.

Yeah, but those items you mentioned are not disenchantable. I'm using no enchantment on my gear but for some fire on my bow! And I don't like to buy items. I love to find them in loot. My Two Handed found most anything pretty soon in my second run, including fortify archery and sneak, which my archer/thief seems impossible to find! hehe

They only do that when you tell them to wait somewhere and forget where was it! hehe If you did not, they will find you, eventually, even if it takes a little longer than usual. Jenassa has the bad habit of stoping in some places and suddenly she will spawn in front of me when I'm far away from where she stopped.

Yeah, they're worthy if you play a shadow character. My Two Hander could get some +190% sneak with 4 enchanted items for some TG and DB missions with no perks on the tree. It was fun. And after level 60 I had no real need to spend perks anywhere. =)

I'm going to make a two hander next, and make Connor Macleod proud. With invisibilty, Shadow Warrior perk, and l33t sneaking skills, my current Dragonborn = Cotillion reborn .

I couldn't agree with you more on this. It's ugly and not as good as daedric yet you've got to have 100 in smithing to create the armor? I've not figured out the logic behind that one there.

Because the dragon scale armor is the best light armor perhaps. As for its looks maybe it is but it sort of looks like what armor made from bone would look like.

Well you could be right there and to be honest with you I didn't know that it was light armor as I had never made any nor had I come across any in the game. You'd think that with Daedric though you'd need a higher smithing skill than with dragon bone since Daedric is a better and heavier armor.

I loled at Zoidberg mod.....

Also am I the only one who found the end of the game a little disappointing?

What end? My primary PC still has tons of quests; just none of the Main, Faction, or Civil War missions.See here

Skrim Wiki > Quests > More Quests

Well the games do quite literally have an endless number of quests...but I was really impressed with the main story and the civil war right up until the end of each, or rather the lack of aftermath events, but I suppose its the old, nothing changes in Elder Scrolls :P

Hm, really?  Not even the extra ones you can pick up lying around?  I got Fortify Archery really early and I was sure it was from one of them.  But I do have a mod that expands enchanting.  It still won't let you enchant or disenchant everything, even with the mod.  Frustrating.

Follow up on my earlier sabre cat story: Snow Cats!

I took my mage to Winterhold and joined the college, following the questline I made my way out of Winterhold through the town...only to find a snowy sabre cat outside. Dead again. After several attempts I decided to jump over the side of the college walls into the water. After swimming to land and seeing a horker for the first time I got back on track and headed for Saarthal...only for me to pass a large rock and get killed by a snowy sabre cat that was hidden behind it.

I think I'm starting to hit that "endless" bit right now. I've had 5 different Animal Exterminator quests from the companions - apparently a lot of people have issues with bears and sabre cats breaking into their homes - including several in Solitude which I'd love to see. I suspect this is a radiant AI quest but is this what happens when you play out the "real" quests and hit the endless all over?

Sabre cats at early levels can really ruin your day. When my current character was a n00b squish, she encountered a duo of sabre cats twice in the same spot and survived by the same strategy- run towards a giant and let him wallop them. I resolved not to kill any giants after that. Had to break my resolution once. :/

I think I actually just spec'd my character wrong since it was my first one. Too much magicka, too few spells and too little health.

Ledges, if close by, are your friend if you are willing to abuse the physics model that lets you run/fall down cliffs. I dodged a lot of those cats up by the college by going over the ledge -- of course one time I dodged one cat and jumped off the ledge and landed on another so there's always risk.

I did the same thing, the mage build is rough early on and frankly my efforts to "fix" my build by working in light armor wasted a lot of perks and added levels I wish I had back now at level 47 because it stops being all that useful. I don't think my mage would have survived except I switched to a lot of conjuration and let my atronarch's become recon/rear guard actors.

I just sort of abandoned my mage and started a warrior orc. I'll probably go back or start a fresh mage eventually...

(I have actually gotten addicted to Assassin's Creed Revvies now though...)

Tried the same thing at one point but the melee combat in first personal was a whip for me. I might have to try in 3rd person and see if that makes it more engaging.

I'm going to have to wait for a patch from Bethesda. Oh boy.

My current issue is with the Thieves Guild Armor glitch. (Xbox 360)

Back at hour 70-something, I sold the Thieves Guild Armor to...someone, I guess. Now its hour 176 with the game and I'm currently trying to restore the Thieves Guild to its former glory, but I can't because Tonilia won't give up the Guildmaster's Armor without me already having upgraded a piece of the Thieves Guild armor from before.

PC players can already fix this issue by giving themselves the armor through commands, but on 360 and PS3, we're stuck. We have no way of getting the armor back, and if we don't have the original Thieves Guild armor, we can't upgrade it, can't get the Guildmaster's Armor, and can't get the achievement/trophy for returning the Thieves Guild to its former glory.

I believe what needs to be done is Tonilia down in The Ragged Flagon needs to have her shop open at all times. She's stuck forever asking if we can upgrade a piece of armor, but without it, we can't. If we can unlock her store again, what ALSO needs to be done is we need to be able to purchase Thieves Guild armor pieces. If that's available, we should be able to talk to her again, upgrade it, and then get the Guildmaster's Armor after completing the necessary quests.

Sure, a new character can be created and a run to Riften can be made, but I'm going to try to be patient and hope it gets fixed. If Bethesda isn't already aware of the issue, I already informed them(or tried to).

Hope this gets rectified, I know there's quite a few people that are miffed because of this problem.

Nothing personal, but I believe you both are a bit short-sighted.

Forget the neverending DB, TG. Companion, and like quests, and seek out the ruins, Forts, dungeons, etc.; a lot more fun for me than ridding the world of rodents. Collect all the claws, Shouts, unique gems, etc if you enjoy finishing sets.

Or even return to an early save and take another main path. Try noble if you were evil; try Mage if you were a Warrior. Etc.

This game has tons of stuff beyond repeating Faction assignments, if one cares to seek it out.

LPPrince-Out of curiosity what made you go and sell your thieves guild armor for? Did you need the gold at the time? And to be honest I don't think that is a glitch as far as the upgrading of one of your armor pieces goes. As for me I now run the theives guild and I still do quests for them. I take one from Vex and Delvin every time I'm in there as I'm trying to get all the trinkets on the shelves by the desk that used to be Mercer's before I killed him. I do know of a bug in the TG is the fact you can't get Delvin to take the right Falmer eye which is suppose to be one of the Larceny items.

I'm also running Companion and DB quests concurrently as well along with the TG. I've also have 3 more Daedric quests for which I need to do which I will then have all 15 of them done.<G>

The difference are the components you need to craft them. Daedric Armor is only slightly better (starting stats, upgrading armor will get both sets to the max protection level anyway), but Daedric requires Dremora Hearts and Ebony ignots which are quite rare and expensive. Dragon Armor requires dragon bones/scales which come in huge supplies thus making Dragon Armor cheaper and easier to create.

My gripe with the Smithing tree is that Daedric provides the best weaponry too, thus Light Armor characters are better off (in the long run) to follow the Heavy Armor path instead of Light > Dragon Scale (light) Armor and Daedric weaponry are the best you can get. This kinda makes the light armor path irrelevant.

@LPPrince,

Have you tried to pickpocket your fellow thiefs? I think they are wearing the default Thief Armor sets too and you can pickpocket their items (you need the right perk and 100 pickpocket to do so though). I used this "trick" to pickpocket Astrid so I could dual wield the Blade of Woe ;)
