So Daedric armor is the best armor in the game right? I'd assume Dragonplate/scale armor is the best but people have been saying otherwise.

Daedric has better base stats IIRC, but Dragonbone components are more available to most players. Dragons are everywhere, while Daedra Hearts are not.

Depends on whether you are looking towards heavy or light armor. As the dragon armor is light armor and IMO looks like crap I dont' wear it. I prefer heavy armor and wear mainly Daedric. I do like the look of the Ebony armor as well. Glass armor Looks allot better than the dragon armor if you ask me.

I don't seem to have a problem finding daedra hearts to be honest with you there. Since making my daedric weapons and armor. There is the one Daedra quest for which you do  that you can pop back to from time to time and pick up a few hearts after killing the daedra there.

Really? Didn't know about a respawning source of Hearts, what quest is it?

When I did my Dualwielding playthrough I was using the Elemental fury shout on a regular basis.  But with my 2-hander, it's kinda pointless.  Since most enemies die from  his  first hit anyway

Dual wielding is enchant friendly so I wouldn't use Elemental Fury in that case, but you're right about two handed weapons - they kill insanely fast. However, it is still very effective against the few elite enemies who can take quite a beating and probably only when playing on master difficulty.

I just finished the Saarthel dungeon. The Deathlord before the final boss required a couple dozen warhammer blows to the head to go down whilst the boss died in three Image IPB - Skyrim's broken leveling system at its finest :(

"Pieces Of The Past" quest. Return to Mehrunes Daon's shrine every so often and you will get attatcked by daedra and when you kill them you can get their hearts. Also you can enter the shrine and loot it again for more great treasure like you did the first time.<G>

Go visit the museum in Dawnstar. When you complete the quest you will be at a temple or something and receive the key to go in. Inside there are two respawning Dremora - a potential unlimited supply of hearts (and they also wear Daedric armor if that's what you're looking for).

That Elthir guy at the College of Winterhold also sells hearts and you can buy one every 48 (game) hours. You also find them at alchemist stores on a regular basis.

Coolies. Thanks. I actually am taking an extended break from Skyrim, but good to know.

I actually killed the filthy Dagon worshipper when I first met him (I use a no essential NPC macro so I never noticed if he's essential) so that's out of the question.

What'd you do find another game to play with for a bit?<G> But now you know where you can get Daedra hearts when you need them at least.

Darklands, possibly gonna make it into an LP. The character creation process is just so much fun. After that, I may try out Divine Divinity.

Also, waiting for the CK to come out, unsure about whether I still feel like modding myself (I'm fickle + more importantly, I might not have the free time), but definitely it'll provide some excellent mods from the community which would undoubtedly improve Skyrim.

About the Daedra Hearts, yeah. I always wondered how so many people got full Daedric Sets so quickly. Aside from Dremora, I knew you could buy them, but the shop rates were really rare for me. Now I know there's an infinite source of them somewhere.

:P

From what I've heard from a couple of folks that were able to beta test the modding tools its great. As for me I wouldn't know as I"ve never gotten into the modding aspect. Hopefully one of the folks that do the modding with create an unofficial update patch that will correct some of the things for which the folks at Bethesda cant seem to get correct like the stuff staying in your inventory once the quest is completed and Delven of the theives guild not fully taking all the larceny items; as well as for keeping that Red Eagle quest from respawning over and over again.   That would sure be a big plus in the game right there.

Of course I didn't know that you did modding yourself.

Well now you see where we get all our hearts for our aromor and weapons.<G> Also you can loot the shrine regularly as well.

Not really a modder, just someone who's interested. Only mods I've made are personal tweaks to make lockpicking harder and to add 15 instead of 5 carry weight every time you add Stamina on level up.

But I'm sure that there will be a very comprehensive collection of bug fixes and an Unofficial Patch.

What I'm really excited for however is how modders will use the Radiant Story system to enhance roleplaying and reactivity. For example, triggering new/specific random encounters for choosing Imperials over Stormcloaks and vice versa, maybe enforcing bounties on enemy holds. Things like that.

Also, I'm 100% sure we will be able to ride Dragons before long.

You get their briar heart, which is good for paralyze potions, and a quest or two, but that's pretty much it (aside from any skill increases you might incur in the process).

You will get sneak and pickpocketing exp I'd imagine.

Would love to find out about the tweak to add 15 to the carry weight instead of the 5 that it adds now; Interested in sharing that with me and otthers that might want to know?

As for the un official patch it won't surprise me if one isn't out shortly aftter the tools is released to be honest with you there. As there are lots of things for which need fixed in the game and just the few for which I mentioned. Would also be nice if you could wear 2 rings intstead of 1 also. As for riding dragons maybe not any dragon but the one for which your able to start summoning when you get the shouts for it at least. Now that there would be cool,<LOL>

LPPrince-Out of curiosity what made you go and sell your thieves guild armor for? Did you need the gold at the time? And to be honest I don't think that is a glitch as far as the upgrading of one of your armor pieces goes. As for me I now run the theives guild and I still do quests for them. I take one from Vex and Delvin every time I'm in there as I'm trying to get all the trinkets on the shelves by the desk that used to be Mercer's before I killed him. I do know of a bug in the TG is the fact you can't get Delvin to take the right Falmer eye which is suppose to be one of the Larceny items.

I'm also running Companion and DB quests concurrently as well along with the TG. I've also have 3 more Daedric quests for which I need to do which I will then have all 15 of them done.<G>

I needed gold AND I was set on wearing heavy armor, I had no need for light. Plus, nothing in the game told me it was vital to a later quest AND an achievement.

Turns out there's a lot of people online who have my problem, and we're all either starting a new character and making a beeline for Riften or waiting for a patch.

Well now will have to admit that needing gold would  be a viable answer. The fact is that I ran both my characters i with heavy armor<daedric> but for some reason never had a problem with needing gold cept in the early part of the game. But even then I didn't buy nothing just used whatever I could get ahold of off the ones for which I killed until I was able to make my own. After all you can find lots of great stuff in the game without having to buy anything at all. This includes arrows and potions as well. Some potions I just sold out right like the one's for magicka as I very seldom use magic; I don't buy spells either.

I'm currently doing quests for the thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood as well as for the companions. Of course the TG is starting to get a little repetious now.  I do still have 3 more Daedric quests I need to do to have done all 15 of them which I plan on doing this play through.

I never had problems finding Daedra Hearts even without using the respawn. Alchemist shops sell them and there is a bunch in loot, specially in necromancer towers. By the time I had Smithing level high enough to craft Daedric, if I wanted to spent the perk on it, I had enough hearts for a full set plus weapon and quests that required one heart as well. (with my Nord Warrior).

--

Marked for Death is amazing. I used it a lot with my Warrior but not so much with the Archer. But now I went training Light Armor with everything and MfD stops Trolls regenerating. Snow Trolls are good for trainingm and I should have made a movie of this. I got one on its knees and stepped away for healing. He tried to get up, walked a bit, fell down on his face, got up again, tried to run and poof, fell down again but this time, dead! hahaha

Wil have to agree with  you in regards to the Daedra hearts like right now I"ve got all my armor and weapons which are daedra and have yet to go back to the Mehrunes once since the first time for which I was there doing the quest. I must have about a 1/2 doze hearts right now.

Will have to admit  I didn't know that the MFD shout would keep trolls from regenerating. wish I would have know that them things can be a pain some times. Especially when you've got more than one of them.  Anoher good one is the Ice Form shout gretat for freezing mulple enemiels and making them look like ice sculptures.<LOL>

In my case, I already had Daedric Armor by the time I got the Thieves Guild armor, so I honest to God had no need for it.

Then I find out that Tonilia will forever be stuck in the dialogue asking you to upgrade it if you don't have it, and there's nowhere in the game where you can get a new set.

Its not so much a bug as its a really unfortunate set of circumstances that isn't game-breaking, but rather quest-breaking and achievement-breaking.

I have yet to beat the main quest because I want to get every achievement BEFORE I go after Alduin and such.

I can still go after the Daedric Quests, I still have to find 50 skill books(which I think I've found about 45 right now), but I'm going to have to be a patient little Prince until they fix this issue with the TG armor.

If not, I guess eventually I'll make a new character and run to Riften. That'll suck hard for me though since I won't have any of my super awesome stuff that I have now. :crying:

I finished up my first playthrough, and created a few new characters since then (I'm up to 6, now). Admittedly, it's tough going from bad-azz to noob, but it's doable. You can do it.
Image IPB

The most difficult thing for me has been sticking with one character. Suddenly I want to create one from every single race, and try out every specialization. This obsession is getting unhealthy.

I wish there was an achievement...or maybe a job I could get paid for...where I create Skyrim characters for a living. I swear, all of the ones I've made are waaay better-looking than many of the NPCs in the game. I haven't tried creating a Dunmer yet, but my Bosmer and Altmer are actually pretty!

I'm the kind of player who has issues playing more than one character in a game.

I mean, player-created characters. For example, in the ME series, I have ONE Commander Shepard. That's it.

In ME1, I created a few, but I just could NOT play with them because they weren't my canon first character.

So it'd end up being the same here. Hence why I'd rather wait for a patch then start over, run to Riften, and go through ALL of the Thieves Guild stuff again.

^ Wow, that's commendable. How do you decide what to do in your game? I can't imagine not trying every single angle and race, but I'm a woman, and changing my mind is what I do.

I really loved playing Shepard both female and male, mostly male. Soldier, Vanguard, Sentinel and Infiltrator, renegon/paragade. It's a whole new experience everytime. Pretty much like with those 20 characters I created for DA:Origins or with these 2 in Skyrim.

It is a whole different game playing a Two Handed Nord Warrior and a Sneaky Thief Khajiit Archer! I'll even try some female mage sometime and I never play mages but Skyrim is too tempting to pass it! hehe
