You know you've arrived as an archer when you one-shot an ice wraith. Yesss.

Aww yes I can remember doing that there as well it was so sweet.

Deathwrum- Will have to agree with you I'm on my 2nd play through and I'm playing as a Female Redguard archery and dual wielding daggers. She's primarily a thief/assasin. I think I've used 4 spells this whole play through.

YOu want to know what is funny is when you get that courier guy that comes up to you and delievers you one of them messages from a friend. And it turns out to be for an area you just got done cleaning out.<LOL> I've had that happen to me twice nwo in this play through

Well...I'm really wanting to play as a Warrior with Heavy Armor...that's why I was thinking Redguard...

Based on what I've read, any Race can really be any class...it's just I haven't played as a Human in either of the previous TES games I played...all the races look like fun, an Argonian would make for a nice change...I actually don't know what the heck I'll play as! lol

I rolled up a Khajiit Thief, my husband thought it would be neat on his 4th playthrough, since I was up around 62 with my Dunmer and realized I kind of hosed myself on the perks I took I figured I would start one with him. I was not really keen on being a cat. I just could not wrap my head around a Dragonborn cat. I always looked at shouting for a cat like Simba figuring out how to roar and it was too laughable.

It has been a totally different experience this time around for some reason and I have actually liked being a cat. It is just as much fun but discovering things I missed the first time around and taking a different path than I did before has been a blast.

My only quandry is which Race to play as, I played Morrowind and Oblivion as a Khajit and am leaning heavily towards Redguard or Nord for Skyrim...but all the races look like so much fun!

Rajiit is happy that more Khajiit Heroes are coming to Skyrim. Rajiit wishes them luck on their adventures and hopes they can meet with Rajiit and Kharjo on the roads of the Holds. And someone please bury poor Ra'jirr whose body I left dead in some ancient ruin!

--

Seriously now, I'm loving playing a Cat but it makes no sense for him to play the Dragonborn. I only uses two shouts with him. Aura Whisper and Marked for Death. All the others are locked and I won't spend souls on them. Except of course the two we're forced to get for the first of the MQ and next. But I'm level 60 now and I won't even bring the Horn to those old guys, so I'm stuck with Fus-Ro and no Dah in near future.

My first (two) character was a Two Handed Warrior Nord (my avatar) and now, that really feels like a Nord Hero Dragonborn. He finished MQ at level 64 (I restarted him when he was level 59 to correct many mistakes in his built) but he played the role from start. It felt like being home at last, playing a Nord in Skyrim, after playing it in Oblivion and Morrowind.

wow just wow.... I was starting to see why so many people think this game is too easy as most things go down in 1 or 2 hits now....
THEN BAM I enter a dungeon that has a buttload of necromancers and I get my ass kicked the entire time. I persevere but when I get to the last part of it there was a boss with a few more necromancers.
I swear to god I did everything that was possible.
Werewolf? Nope one shotted dead!
kite them as my companion and fire astronoch holds them off for a while? nope one shot dead.
pull with long range spells and run away and hope that my minions can at least HURT them a little while I slip in and out behind a corner and try and..... NOPE ONE SHOT DEAD.
At one point I had managed to kill the lesser enemies and only the boss remained but being necromancers and all he just kept bringing them back and it was hard enough the first time. I hit and ran came back when I thought it was good I set up magic traps when he was chasing me I did EVERY godamn thing nothing worked PERIOD.
I hated doing it but there was no other option. So I went into the game options and turned down the difficulty 2nd easiest (can't think of names now but I been playing on the middle)
STILL wasn't enough
so I gave in and went to the easiest setting and it was a cakewalk but I did not care I wanted out of this.
Now I just played a few hours and figured it was a fluke or maybe I'm just bad with mages. Or maybe mages are OPed because I was doing the Azura star quest in Windhelm (go inside the star to kill the guy and clean the star of Azura. those Dreamora minions made short work of me every time until I went to easy mode again.
I hate when games do that. Its not difficult to have enemies one shot me (sometimes before I have a chance to get ready) Thats cheap and fake difficulty.

TL:DR? game is not too easy for me but in fact uber cheap and mean to me. I realize as I write this rant that as much as I adore this game I am putting up with a lot from it.

RageGT- Playing a Nord in Skyrim then I take it you sided with the Storm Cloaks on that play through? As for me since this is the first playthrough for which I've made a choice to go with on side or the other I decided to go the the imperials. Even though I can't stand the Thalmor one bit as they think that their better than everyone else.

Unless you're a one-shot-sneak-killer-archer, you'll definitely need lots of resistance against elemental damage. My two hander had the same problem until I enchanted some powerful ring/necklace sets for each type of elemental damage, before I could dual enchant them then I needed only one extra set since he is a Nord and have some natural Frost resistance. If you can't enchant, save all those items with elemental resistance you find from start.

And if you can't brew your own resistance potions, save all those you find during the game for moments like the ones you described. Arch-pyromancers, shockmancers and frostmancers are the most cruel killers if we don't have resistance against their elemental school. Once we do, however, they'll run away begging for mercy just like everything else! =)

I couldn't agree with you more on this here thats the reason that I sided with him as well. Image IPB

Also our shouts are good to use on them as well. Ice form will freeze several like Ice cubes and they'll take frost damage the whole time. And then you can concentrate on the ones that aren't frozen.<G>

Imperial Archer with Sneak is wonderful, less fun than my Thalmor Assassin but Voice of the Emperor is basically a free reset when you're discovered.

That was the hardest fight I've found so far, 3 dremora spamming fireballs. I got through it without lowering the difficulty from expert but it took a lot of trys.

None that I know. It's an Dwemer ruin on the extreme East of the map, between Riften and Windhelm. (You can also get there through Stony Creek Cave but then the huuuuuge dive from Kagrenzel will be forever unavailable. Make sure you save before diving. Feels like Gandalf falling through the deeps of Moria! When you hit the water, if you hit the water, dive straight down for a chest with awesome loot).

I'm really annoyed that Deadras force you to kill your partner in the ritual. After obtaining Mehrunes Daegun's Dagger I didn't continue those missions ...

Political Campaign (The Invasions to forts) are the most interesting aspect of the game. Then Mage Guild and Rogue Guild missions. On the other side, I'm sick and tired of DRAGONS. [Who wants to carry my Dragon Bone burdens?!]

I've left it at the default difficulty setting and died many times..including a few in that quest.
(I especially hate enemies getting one-shot kills)

main tactics I used are sneaking, hit-and-run and saving often.
I found hit and run can sometimes cause enemies to spread out more so you don't have to take on so many at once when returning for the next attack.
Of course, difficulty may depend on character build/play style - I suspect the people finding it easy are the ones with virtually impervious armour -which sounds boring to me -I prefer having the challenge of having to out-manouver my enemies.

Just took one from Bard's Leap Summit yesterday; was able speak to the ghostly namesake after surviving the fall for a little tutoring.

Among the more difficult encounters thus far has been a few surprise ambush battles after going past transition points, areas that go into lockdown to prevent tactical retreats, and some wanderinjg meetings with lone assailants that are unusually fit; probably Lvl Equivilant foes. An Orc wanting a good death took me several reloads as he would often 1 or 2 shot me, as well as Block my better swings, and a Scavenger that was better with a Greatsword than some Companions are good examples of this.

And I just went thru the scenic web-covered skylit room for the first time yesterday, too; breathtaking artwork!

You're talking about the cult of Boathiah <sp> quest?

It's not like you're forced to kill your favorite companion that you've invested all your time and gear on.    I usually just run back to Riverwood and grab Sven, or some other useless cohort I don't care about and will never use again, then run back to the shrine.

I  have an example of cheap which just happened to me yesterday.

My current character is level 50ish.  Playing on master.  Finally licked my elemental weaknesses by enchanting my gear to ridiculous levels for all resistances.  I then go to that Draugr dungeon just north of Labrynthian  (Lost Vykangg or however its  spelled) where   I encounter a Draugr deathlord.  I engage him in  melee and don't have too much trouble, but I notice that someone is taking potshots at me from behind and draining my health...severely.  I  look over and there's another  Draugr death lord shooting me with arrows.  Just as I turn to go after him he  FUS RO DAH's me.     And then, while I'm tumbling back, and during the cutscene, he  shoots another arrow at me... and kills me.

Moral of the story:  It doesn't matter how powerful your gear is, or how many perks you take.  If you're not careful, monsters in this game WILL kill you.

I wanted to lure the imprisoned priest of Boathiah there, but he is a bit determined to go to a haunted Abandoned home instead. So I lied to both avatars of Boathiah and Molag Bal into escaping, and killed the priest after letting him out of his cell.

They wanted deceit; they got it.... Image IPB

Lu'ah Al-Skaven... when I thought I had discovered it all with my previous character, I find the dive in Kagrenzel which I ruined with previous char by reaching Kagrenzel's lake through the Stony Creek Cave...

Back to Kagrenzel to rescue Kharjo who I ordered to wait before diving as he might not survive the fall and then going back down the mountain I find this mine which is not a mine but some crazy chick excavation site and I got this quest to kill Lu'ah Al-Skaven. hehe

And yes, there is always something that can kill us no matter how powerful we are. It takes just a moment of distraction and poof, dead!

PS.: It is amazing when I book that I just read has the solution for a puzzle with those animal pedestals but more than that, it comes alive when the characters that give the title of the book come to thank us for completing the mission and letting them be just the characters in a book we can read somewhere...

PS2: Looking in the map, I'm sure I had discovered that location with the previous character. Only that he left a few places untouched because either he was on his way to some quests and didn't want to get distracted or he had too much loot already and could not carry anything else. heh

My cousin decided to spoil the main quest for me, so I spoiled the Thieves guild plot and the ending of that new Eragon book for him.

Payback is hell.

Yes, but your dragonborn still has to behave like a big pile of manure to even consider most of the daedric quests.

Well according to my dragonborn;
Mehrunes Dagon made me kill a Mythic Dawn fanatic, someone who exalted the insane cult that almost destroyed the world and ended the septims just because.

Boethiah made me kill that wood elf guy from Riverwood. The guy's an ass and nobody missed him. I don't think anyone even knew he was there aside from Camillia and Sven. Still felt a little bad for killing a guy who's just a jerk though so....

Molag Bal let me kill a cultist of Boethiah, so it's all good.

Who go the better end of that deal? As in, which was the better story ruined?

I tried the thieves guild the other day and it should really be renamed the Gangsters and extortionist's guild, the robbery's just a passing thought. Glad I didn't ruin my good guy character, though I can't say breaking and burning things wasn't tremendous fun.
