I wonder what ending for the Dark Brotherhood, Bethesda will use.

Since they are down to their last base, and you can wipe it out.
But knowing Bethesda they probably will just say there was another base somewhere.

The two most seasoned members survive in any case, and both are Master trainers; expect more subterfuge and strange deaths to come....

Or at least one; forgot the other may be caught napping. Really?!!

In most cases the cooldowns on the shouts are too great for them to be anything more than the occasional gimmick. They're just slightly above racial powers in usefulness.

I find them useful enough, at least on my non-mage characters, that I always had them wear an Amulet of Talos and keep the blessing of Talos which allows you to use shorter cooldown shouts several times in one fight.  For a mage, the damage shouts are a bit redundant though I'm glad to have Ice Form in my arsenal for a little breathing room on tough enemies.

Even the Greybeards pose no threat at all, contrary to the lore, if you attack them. If not for them being marked essential, they fall as easily as any mook.

That's a factor of gameplay, I'm sure.  According to the story, the Greybeards can kill a person simply by speaking, which is why they either remain silent or just whisper.  When they whisper a greeting to you, the whole building shakes.  But of course they're not going to make an enemy the almighty PC can't beat in actual gameplay.

They might leave it vague. Some events are left vague from Oblivion - the KoTN is reformed, for instance, but there's no mentioned of who reformed them. And Sheogorath's line merely implies that he was formerly the Champion of Cyrodiil (however heavily). It wouldn't be impossible for the Brotherhood to survive even if the Dragonborn wiped out the Falkreath Sanctuary - Cicero still lives (if I recall correctly), and so does Babette.

Hey, I love those old guys.  The way they bow and whisper "dovahkiin" is adorable.  Image IPB  Also I don't consider men who speak dragon language and can rip apart the physical world with their voice to be boring.  Not sure what neighborhood you live in.  lol

I'm guessing you have never tried fighting these guys.

I could barely last 3 seconds before they massacred me with their voices.

I have a lot of respect for the Grey Beards.

Arngeir really felt like a person who helped you a lot and was not telling you what to do.
Delphine treats you like some noob who cant operate without her.

Sorry but the Greybeards are not only cooler then the blades, but so is Paarthurnax...and Odahviig.
I kind of agree with them too if Paarthurnax can change himself then maybe other dragons could to.

It's like what Anderson says in ME1: "The loss of an entire species is a tragedy"

Mostly this....

Many or all of the remaining factions simply ignore the Dragonborn or leadership status, as do many Skyrim citizens; not these brothers of the Voice. This is the one faction that gave me the feeling of inclusion and purpose, and that is worth a lot to me.

* Companions - still treated as the newbie.
* Dark Brotherhood: - somewhat better, but mainly a gopher.
* Thieves Guild - the worst; a figurehead in name only.
* College of Magic - librarian is the only one with any sense, and he will drop you if you hurt a tome.
* Civil War - accolades galore, then you are forgotten as quickly as yesterday's breakfast.
* Bard's College - wonderful induction ceremony, but not a note when finished.
* Blades - may never know, as I have always chosen the Greybeards.

Delphine got it right about the Greybeards, though. They sit on that tower and do nothing. Let the world burn. If it wasn't for her, there wouldn't be a Mundus. Although I had to tell the b*tch to quit tripping when she asked me to kill Paarthurnax.

So they should march down the mountain and Thu'um everyone to death who presents an issue?

Leave behind their ideals and murder every dragon in the land?
Cow the rebels and empire into submission?

The world is going to end since it was foretold, they knew that and accepted it. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not the world in TES is going to end one day. Sure you can fight against it screaming but everything foretold to date has come to pass sooner or later.

Who said they'd do it personally? They weren't even going to let the Dragonborn speak to Paar at fisrt.

But it DIDN'T end. Because they were convinced otherwise. nvm that part.

Can't really blame 'em; disliked getting involved with the Civil War myself. Both sides had a few solid points, but unfortunately they were often found sitting atop several pairs of shoulders.

When I choose the Imperials, I am stuck with Tullias, Maven Blackbriar and the Battle-Borns. And the Stormcloaks have Ulric and Yogi Bear, and ruin Whiterun.

I might just sit on a Mountain, too....

I made a Nord and an Imperial mainly to experience both sides of the civil war.  My Bosmer and Dunmer couldn't care less.

Yep Cicero + Nightmother (both in heavy plot armor) are all that's needed to keep the DB going.  I wouldn't mind ending them but only if I was a Morag Tong.

I just discovered something hilarious.  You can meet Cicero  (and do a quest for him) before getting involved in the Dark Brotherhood.  I found him and his wagon stranded on the road north of Whiterun.  he asked me to find someone to help him fix a broken wagon wheel.

Which line implies that?
